Escape Music proud to announce the signing of Laudamus from Sweden. Featuring PETER STENLUND, JONAS STENLUND, and JONAS CEDERTEG. Title of the album will be Lost in Vain release date 16th June 2003.
With special guests on the album the following talents:
Jeff Scott Soto (Talisman, Yngwie Malmsteen), Marty Friedman (Megadeth), Kee Marcello (Europe), Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen), Rob Rock (Chris Impellitteri, Roy Z, Axel Rudi Pell, Joshua Perahia and Dennis Cameron), Howie Simon (Ken Tamplin, Jeff Scott Soto) and Ed Roth (Impellitteri).
It was in the middle of the crazy 80's that LAUDAMUS stood up from the deep, dark forests of Northern Sweden, just below the Arctic Circle. It was there; under the flaming northern lights and burning midnight sun that they started to develop their unique sound and exceptional live capacity. Peter, the founder of the band, was the one who realised that was something missing in the music scene, so he picked up the guitar and started what would become an outstanding band called LAUDAMUS.
In April 1992 LAUDAMUS released their first single “Be there Forever/ Overlord” which contained songs in classic metal style. After some time playing and developing their skills and style, the band returned to the recording studio and recorded a four song EP “Ready or Not” which was released in 1993. Another demo called “Realize/ Until The End” was tracked in the spring of the same year and this helped Laudamus gain a loyal fan base.
After intense and dedicated work and some line-up changes LAUDAMUS proudly announced the release of their first full-length CD at the end of the old millennium entitled “Unlimited Love” which was followed by tour in Sweden and Finland. In spring of the year 2000, the band went over to the USA for a promotion trip where they got invited to play the STRYPER Expo in 2001 by Bill Bufford. At this time, LAUDAMUS continued to tour Sweden and Finland, where they became one of the most sought after live-acts - due to their charisma and extremely sharp and expressive music. The contacts to the USA proved to pay off even more, when they got in touch with legendary producer KEN TAMPLIN in 2002. LAUDAMUS for a while gathered material for a new album, and when they sent a demo to Ken, he immediately showed his interest in the band. So, the guys were invited by TAMPLIN to come over to his Music Painter Studio at New Port Beach, California to record the album “Lost In Vain”.
LAUDAMUS have developed their sound and honed it into a force to be reckoned with, tracks like “Lost in Vain” and “Mother Evolution” are fuelled by powerful guitar riffs and distinctive harmonies. These guys hit you in the face and have the finesse of Impellitteri, mixed with the hard aggression of Megadeth and the harmony and melody of latter day Europe. Whatever their description, it is an effective one. One listen to “My heart's on fire” should have you hooked, or what about “In the final hour”, which melds brutal guitar chords with immense harmony vocals and some amazing fretwork. There is no room for fillers on this one and these three guys turn out one killer song after another, “Free” is particularly worthy of mention, as is “Lay your burdens down”, the latter having a huge chorus.
LAUDAMUS are ready to impress you with their brand of rock, the album “Lost in Vain” is a quite simply a monumental piece of work.
