It all began back in 2001 with the first EMPIRE album "Hypnotica". Rolf Munkes (Majesty) started to record an album with musicians like Lance King (Ex Balance of Power), Mark Boals (Ex Malmsteen), Neil Murray (Ex Whitesnake), Don Airey (Deep Purple) und Anders Johansson (Hammerfall). Impressed by both the result and the fantastic cooperations it was soon clear that this shouldn't be a one time event but a full band which now delivers it's 3rd full length album.

So, two years after “Hypnoctica”, they created the successor "Trading Souls" with the new man behind the mic: ex Black Sabbath shouter Tony Martin, the man who sang on their amazing album “Headless Cross” which until today remains to be an 80's fave of many.

Both Rolf and Tony had so much fun during their studio work that they decided to do another album after that. Rolf who now owns a studio (Empire Studios), went over to Tony's place at the end of 2004 and they started working on new material. It had to be stuff that fits perfect with his voice. Something that corresponds with his high skills, style and abilities.
Something unique - "The Raven Ride". With songs like the title track, "Breathe", "Satanic Curses" or "The Devil Speaks, The Sinner Cries" they excactly created what they had in mind. Completing the band is the high profiled rhythm section consisting of bassist Neil Murray (ex- Whitesnake, Black Sabbath) and drummer Andre Hilgers (Silent Force, Axxis). The album was produced by Rolf Munkes at Empire Studios and fully composed by Rolf Munkes & Tony Martin themselves.
