Slightly off topic, but not entirely... Funny that this topic as come up. I've read the posts about Steel Panther, and realize that it's probably a fun and enjoyable album. And I know that the lyrics are just meant to be fun and not meant to be taken seriously. But, I'm chosing not to buy it because I don't think I'd ever have much opportunity to listen to it. My young children certainly don

Wow, this is sooooo classic '80s in its sound and feel!!! Even though I was hearing each sample for the first time, it was like a walk down Memory Lane, all the way to 1987 or so. It's a little bit of Ratt, Leppard, Crue, Poison, Cinderella, Quiet Riot, Sammy Hagar, etc. all mixed together. And it's not just the sound: the songwriting seems very strong too. For me, this will be a MUST BUY wh

Wow. I just bought the single. It's not what I expected. It has that Daughtry/modern rock sound. I was expecting traditional MHR. Sounds great!! Cheers, MooseMan NP - Hott: "Here For You"

Hi all, After my appointment yesterday, I ventured into Wal-Mart and was shocked to see they were selling $50 iTunes cards for $40!! I dunno if this is a regular occurance elsewhere, but I've never seen iTunes card on sale before. Wow, 5 albums for 40, and no taxes. And no waiting for them to arrive in the mail :-) I can't wait to use it... Alias – Never Say Never ... Okay, okay, I'm conv

KISS has been my favorite band since I was 9 years old, which was 33 years ago. This "favorite" status has definitely NOT been based on many of their post "heyday" albums. For me, each album from the '80s on has had at least some classic moments (except maybe "Psycho Circus" and "Carnival of Souls," which, admittedly I haven't spent enough time with). Un

Hi Mick, "Oceans of Time" with Gioeli is my favorite Pell album. I don't have them all, but even if I did, I doubt that if I did he'd ever top this one for me. The melodies on tracks like "Carousel," "Ashes of the Oath," "Ride the Rainbow," and the title track are downright infectious. They lodge themselves into my brain and just won't leave. And Gioel

...I wondered if that was what you meant. Sorry, Carl. I think I will be in MHR heaven (and my bank account will be in serious trouble) if/when Wal-Mart ever starts carrying smaller-label/lower-profile stuff like that. Yikes! I guess every business has to address the question of price when determining which business model they will follow. I've never been a business owner or manager, but I've always thought that if I was, I would rather charge less, and keep customers happy, than try to get the maximum $ out of each and every customer. I think they'd be far more likely to return and give me more of their business if

In my mind, it all comes down to one thing: what is your definition of religion? Personally, I think many people idolize music, just as others idolize money, sports, shopping, travel, sex, etc. I’m not sure that that necessarily means these things qualify as religions (certainly not in the traditional sense of the word). Unquestionably, they can and do become the centers of some people’s

...I really like my job. (Sorry if I gave the wrong impression.) I find it satisfying, rewarding, challenging, and fun. I definitely do it by choice. I knew I wanted to be an educator from the time I was around 11 years old. Unfortunately though, the fact is that as long as I am doing this job, I will not have a whole lot of spare time on my hands during the school year. Work weeks for me a

As a Christian (but not a closed-minded fanatic trying to convert everyone who doesn't share my views, LOL), I'm not into the satan thing either. But, just as much as I'm not into the satan thing, I'm also not into KD's voice. There was a track ("Don't Break the Oath," I think) on a metal sampler album I bought back in the day. I will never forget my buddy and I almost wetting our pa

Hi Al, I can relate to pretty much everything you said. As far as Canadian stuff goes, I have had excellent luck (even in the relatively small town where I live) finding stuff in pawn shops. And nowadays, the CD price in most pawn shops is down to $2!!! When I was in Vancouver recently, I nearly went crazy walking past a bunch of used CD & DVD stores. I went into one and found a few trea

Hi Carl, I feel your pain. For many years, the Canadian dollar was quite weak, so out-of-country stuff always cost a bundle. Our dollar is a lot stronger now, so that helps. But in the past, when I have ordered stuff from out of country, there's been no telling what the customs people are gonna do. Sometimes CDs I've ordered have cost double by the time I've paid the taxes and duties that hav

I don't usually download anything from anywhere except iTunes, but I have made the odd exception in a case like this. I think I also got Hanover Fist and Warriors (Yugoslavian metal) for free from similar sites. And, as far as I know, neither of those has ever been released

Andy, Some of the newer Christian MHR albums that have impressed me include... ...Pyramaze: "Legend of the Bone Carver" - I really like this.
