Wow, never heard of them or this song. The two minute intro made me think it was an instrumental, but then the vocals come in and this song becomes even greater. Had to google them to learn they had 3 female leads, wow. Gonna have to search for the whole album. Thanks!

Agree, good song and sounds just like straight out of 1982. But I could never get into the very deep register vocals.

What happened to Gary West after he left Shooting Star? I played their first two albums to death. I did buy the Best of Shooting Star in 1989 ish? maybe 88 and also played that many times. After checking there wiki page there isnt much info on this band. I didnt know they had two lead singers. Did they due trade offs or did Mclain and West sing leads on different songs?

Yes, not only was he a soloist on We Are The World, which I believe was recorded early in 85 (and he also contributed a song that didnt either Make Street Talk (or it could of been a song from Against the Wall) to the album. In my opinion Steve was the most soulful singer in this bunch of heavy hitters, maybe only Cindy Lauper could compare. Its Amazing in this making of video he nails a

would love to see his blog on this. He did have good voice, but with mickey thomas being mentioned dont know how close he was "close" to being Perry's replacement. I just think this is weird in 1985 that when Journey was starting a new album there is so little facts. It is their lost year.

I agree, this sounds like classic Randy Jackson and a drum machine. Randy played bass on Frontiers After the fall. Not quite sure if this was Perry flexing his muscle or Valory not being able to produce a sound that the band wanted. It sounds like Neal on guitar but Cain is no where to be found unless he is playing guitar. So maybe 1985 is correct, except Perrys vocals are so much higher

So after Perry released Street Talk and then started Against the Wall, that apparently he finished in 1988 (After stating in BTM) he didnt even listen to a song for two years. The Journey force newsletter was still active in 1985 but the only thing I remember from that is that they basically had finished (What was what to be Freedom). The only mention is that Perry didnt like the direction of

I need to download a few of their cds. In the day I only had a cassette from a friend for Play Deep cause I loved the song (and still do) Say it isnt so. At the time in late 85 early 86 I started to listen to only rock radio (as opposed to top 40) and Say it isnt so was played to death. Sadly I only know there other singles from MTV. And now I would say 99% of non fans think that they we

Wasnt a big fan of Leppard after Pyromania. One of the best albums ever. But still loved some of there songs after, mostly love bites and two steps behind. Lost touch with the band until Euphoria, and I played this awesome record to death, Much less of a "pop" feel of Hysteria but still very melodic. To me a forgotten gem on this album is "Guilty" A very non like Lepp

People and their phones holding up most of the concert is the whole reason I dont go to gigs anymore (except a very few exceptions). I really think people need to chill with their phones and just watch and enjoy. Saying that I havent seen the video, but if someone sticks a camera or phone in my face, I would do the same. (Without injuring the person)

Trial by Fire Journey 10 years after Raised on Radio Trial by Fire, yes Ballad heavy and really needed the rocker I can see it in your eyes on the general release but really some great songs on there. Escape/Infinity/Frontiers no but TBF sounds way more like Journey than ROR. Maybe in 2 years when Journey Releases a new album (yeah that will be 10 years too) They will have another gr

Later found this out in 2000 ish when I finally got the internet. But from 1985 to 2000 searching for this song (and a band called Network on the credit rolled) sucked. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuWc2Zy81b4 Love this song PURE AOR

Another song I bought the VHS tape (of all things) was for Back in America by Network in the Very unfunny European Vacation. Finally had a TV I could hook up to put it on a cassette. I was also surprised to see a Kansas connection in the credit roll for the song. I searched for that song for AGES. Must have made a few dozen trips to various used record stores (in vain because i later found o

Caught the very end of "The Blob" 1988 version. A very cheesy movie but they played this song in entirety over the end credits. I dont know much about Alien but I know Jim Jedhid did a version of the Perry/Magness song "Lost Angels". How Perry didn't include this song on FTLOSM always baffles me. What a great 80's anthem rocker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTCjVGlA

Love NR but why do they do so many covers, Crazy Train, The Boys of Summer, Crazy Train, Schools Out. Not to mention doing 2-3 Damn Yankee songs (which is cool) They have plenty of great material. Hoping they bring the Dawn Patrol/Midnite Madness tour to the states.

I actually directed probably the most favorite music video ever filmed. Journey - Separate Ways (Worlds apart) After the massive acclaim they chose me to direct Chain Reaction and After The Fall (You know with the guys sitting around a kitchen table drinking coffee) I really thought I would win an MTV video away for this. I thought I was a lock for the Faithfully video but they went for

Great song! Could easily fit on "For the Working Class Man" Which was the first album I bought from him after being blown away for him opening for ZZTop I think in 83? Then bought Freight Train Heart and played the record to death. Sadly he never caught on in the states and I lost track of him after that. But we he did Going down Alone I was like this guys voice sounds just

It was Ronnie's music that steered me into a more hard rock/metal melodic sound. I still remember the first time I heard Rainbow in the Dark. But I was still just a casual fan. But then I gained a good friend because or Ronnie. We were talking music and he brought up Dio. Being a huge Kansas fan I asked him if he heard Dio singing a couple songs on a "Christian" album that Kerry Livg

I guess it shouldnt be about the original members but the members that made the band iconic. Like Journey yeah the Perry Rolie Schon Valory (and Dunbar for 1 album and Smith for 3 was great, but the Iconic part was the three albums with Perry, Cain, Schon, Smith, Valory. Yeah its pretty cool 4/5 of the guys are still there. And its all good cause Perry makes a fortune every time they tou

"Don't you know where love is" will always go down as one of the top 25 AOR songs ever. I know little about their history, was this song a trade off or just one magical singer that could could go low and soar high vocally? Most notably and if I get the lyrics wrong sorry" I hear the passion in you getting stronger, girl you should no by now. which is pretty low and then "he

Its weird, there are some band that I dont really care if there is only 1-2 original members. Kansas is a perfect example and will see them on the POKR tour. But when long time Greer and Ragsdale leave in addition to Ehart and Williams to me they will no longer be Kansas. With Journey Augeri and he won me over. And then with JSS and they were awesome. But I got bitter after he was let go

I have seen Kansas more than any other platinum selling band. Maybe 12+ times. I a hoping when they come to the State Theatre they do POKR in entirety. So many songs on that album I have never heard live in person. Lightnings Hand Hopelessly Human Nobodys Home Sparks of the Tempest Closet Chronicles It was an awesome album with no filler, and a rare album where Livgren and Wa

Not quite sure who expected Perry to Rock in 2018? Street Talk had 1 semi rocking song, Strung Out, And the bonus track which most MR's would call rocking Dont Tell me Why your Leaving. Against the Wall only had a couple "rockers" at best FTLOSM actually had only 3 Rocking songs, most notably You Better Wait, and also the unreleased track Lost Angles. TBF had only 3 rockin
