Irwin I was also at that gig. I'd been a Heart fan since their first album but for one reason or another this was the first time I'd seen them live. I totally agree with everything you said in your post. I came away from that show feeling short changed. In addition I also felt there was a lack of warmth coming from the stage. Probably the most disappointed I've been seeing a band for this first t

As a big Toto fan I disagree with you Big Dog. I'd agree with the first Toto album but most certainly not the next 3. Interestingly Classic Rock AOR had a special feature on the genre and the reviewer cited as one of the essential albums of the genre The Seventh One by Toto, which is way off the mark. He also cited I Am by Earth Wind and Fire as one to avoid. There is no way I would class that on

I really don't get this overrated thing. Surely it's just down to personal taste. I mean for example to me Sabbath are the gods of metal !!!! Oh and I would love to have been a member of an underrated band like Kiss !!!!!!

Ouch, ouch and triple ouch!!! There was quite a bit of debate on this board re Toto's lead singer, with quite a few stating that they would much prefer Bobby to Joseph Williams. Not by anyone who had seen Toto live in the last few years with Bobby at the mic I hasten to add. Surely this video will convince the doubters, particularly if you have a look at any of the footage from the bands Live in

Very eloquently put Robert and spot on. I feel a number of posters including Mr Mee are confusing the words like and influential. Their influence even 50 plus years on is everywhere and whether you like it or not, some of their music is timeless. They are most certainly not overrated.

Totally agree with Terry and Paul's posts and also the last post by Rondo. Whether you like them or not is simply a matter of taste and let's face it, they were at their height 50 years ago and musical tastes move on and evolve. To call them overrated however is simply ludicrous and misguided. To me they have been the most influential band in the history of modern music. Don't take my word for it

Much as I love Last Goodbye my contender is Transatlantic Blues by Night Flight Orchestra. Wonderful piece of writing.

Always CDs. I usually get most of my purchases from Amazon and like Paul mostly from their market place traders. There are a couple of independent shops in Glasgow which I also use and sometimes when I am browsing in HMV. I used to use AOR Heaven who are great but due to the poor rate of the pound sterling against the Euro it became very expensive. Good luck mate.

Terry and Ramsay I totally get what you are saying and I'm not saying that I am looking for the tired cliche approach. In fact it turns me off totally and maybe I am being over critical as I have been spoilt recently. As I said I really enjoyed the band but something didn't do it for me. Do you know I actually felt the same way after I saw Beth Hart last year. The talent on stage was exceptional

What a great week it's been for gigs. Mostly Autumn, Temples, HEAT and last night Rival Sons. For me it was the first time I have seen all of these bands live and I enjoyed them all. Bottom of my pecking order however would be Rival Sons. I really enjoyed the band last night and they got a great reception from the Glasgow crowd and I would go and see them again but I just felt there was something

I know that the term, they should be HUGE is perhaps over used. This band most certainly should be playing to far larger audiences and gain the success they deserve. I just feel that they appeal across the genres and if they continue to perform like they did last night and win over new fans like myself and my 15 year old daughter, then the world is their oyster. Just need a little piece of luck a
