I saw Sabbath back in the late 70s, early 80s, Ozzy with Randy at Port Vale. And last night show was amazing. Given their age, they where on for over 2 hours. Ozzy had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. Yes, it would have been good to see all the original players together, but as we know that was not going to happen. I took the opportunity to see a band that i grew up with listerning t

One off,if not the most exciting band to come out of The USA in a long time. Their CD Greatest Hits Vol 1 is pure class. Southern Rock at its best.

I saw this photo exhibition in Auckland, and was not overly impressed. If you want to see excellent live photos from 70s bands check out Richard Gailbraiths Facebook page.

I was never a big Journey fan, and the Hour and quarter they were on, they did not float my boat. Did notice Jonathan Cain take out his mobile phone at one point. Deep Purple on the other hand were great. Good old fashion intro, straight in to Space Truckin. The Mule with drum solo. Ian Paice can still beat the crap out of his kit despite is age. Roger looked like he was having fun. My only gripe

The reason they choose Dunedin over Auckland was they did not think Vector could handle the amount of equipment Aerosmith where bringing over, the Promoters had assessed outdoor stadiums across the country before settling on Dunedin's roofed venue, because of the weather guarantees it offered, also the stadium can increase capacity to 40,000 by not having any seating on the pitch.

Steve, the guy that owns hard to find book shop in Onehunga, Auckland. Has bought a shipping container of second hand records from a deceased estate. The owner apparently bought them with the intention to sell them on. When he died his wife wanted to get rid of all the vinyl. The records are stored in a 20 foot container south of the Bombays. I was invited up to take a look but advised it will

Yeah right Joe. Hard to believe its then same bloke that recorded a couple of classic albums and the shite him and his band are churning out now. Carrie Underwood duetting with Steve Tyler, you would never of had Tammy Wynette singing on Rocks. As i said before, there are two sets of Aerosmith fans, for two completely different bands where the frontman joins the cheesiest tv show and invited Op

For those that think the UK price for this tour is expensive. Spare a though for those of us in NZ. $276 for 2 tickets, thats about 135 pounds. Hoping to take my 7 year old, but at that price forget it.

Terry, did you ever see Aerosmith play live in the 70s? Or was it just hear say that made you come out with that statement. Making such a generalised statement that " they sucked live" without ever witnessing a show wont make your argument have any substance. Even if your witness one poor live show that still has no substance. I saw UFO in the 70s and 80s. The No place to run tour was

Doug, I have been listening to Aerosmith since the 70s. I have been lucky enough to see them on the Back in the Saddle tour while in the USA and later at Hammersmith, UK. Permanent Vacation was the start of their downward spiral into radio friendly drivel. I bought Get A grip and Pump. To this day i have only played those cds once. For me they have completely lost the magic, swagger they once ha

" Had Led Zep still be going strong in the 90s we would be having the same discussion." My point being that there will be two sets of fans, fans that grew up with Aerosmith in the 70s and fans that where introduced to the band via MTV. If for arguments sake Led Zep where still an active band in the 80s/ 90s and their popularity dwindled (doubtful i know) who's to say they would not emp

Following on from the thread below, i thought i would start a debate about Aerosmith. Back in the 70s Aerosmith where the band that could do no wrong. They wrote some of the most badass songs ever. Rocks has to be one of the finest albums ever to be released. But the Aerosmith from the early 80s are a completely different band to the previous decade. Same member, new manager, bought in outside h

Night in the Ruts was the last Aerosmith album to have any substance. Even though Joe Perry left half way though it. Rock in a hard place was not bad then Done with Mirrors, when they where going though rehab. Then it turned to shit from then onwards.

Anyone else heard these guys from Atlanta. Their debut album Greatest Hits Vol. 1 is nothing short of a masterpiece. A new take on old music, this is not your daddy's Southern Rock.

At 9.26 this morning, the whole country had an earthquake drill. Where ever you where, you had to drop, cover and hold. At 9.26 not one single person hid under their shopping trolley. Is NZ prepared for another quake. Not in Auckland.
