That was mine too, Figge! I was about 13 though... I had my dad buy me the album and was disappointed in the first few seconds until it kicked in and that was it.

Shade - I remember buying the Cornell cd because it was at Best Buy. I didn't realize he had a new one so I picked it up. HORRIBLE. I only skipped through listening to parts of each song only to find they were all pathetic. Haven't touched or thought about it since until you listed it. Thanks for the memory!

I love his version of "Let Me Take You There." It is so damn catchy. Whenever I play that cd and hear that song, I always have to replay it at least once!

If you want a taste of his old posts, use the search function and type in "Michael St. Allen" under author and select all dates. Happy hunting...except some of the classics were deleted by Andrew.

I like what I'm hearing - very melodic and great choruses in the 3-4 songs I checked out, And holy crap, there is a guitar solo in "Motions." Don't hear many of those in modern music. Very good stuff. Thanks for the heads up.

Eyes is one of my favorite cd's. All tracks are great. A cd I still play quite often. I would say it is my favorite Soto recording because I am most familiar with it from repeated plays.

That is pretty wild, Robby. I did see another clip of Portnoy trying to do his moves. It is just so funny looking the way he flails his arms around wildly but doesn't miss a beat. And then I started reading some of the youtube comments comparing him to Animal from the Muppets, etc. and I could not stop laughing. I was entertained for sure!

I love Racine. I listened to that quite often back in the day and still throw it on every now and then. I'll have to listen to Rats again but I just remember it not having much of an impact on me as compared to Racine.

I still love Dennis Dries-Churchill's voice on the Tattoo Rodeo cd "Rode Hard...", especially on Been Your Fool and Let Me Be The One. Probably the only cd I can say I like the ballads more than all the other songs. Such emotion...

I listened to Homerun the other day and the line "It's hard to stay alive in the pouring rain" of "Say Goodbye" caught my attention.

I guess I'm in the minority when I say I prefer Tattoo Rodeo and I love "Rode Hard..." The 2 ballads on there are killers.

Foreigner was probably my favorite cd from last year. I really enjoy it more than I thought I would. I hope the Meatloaf is okay. I just bought it last night without hearing any sound bytes and haven't listened to it yet.

Nice review - I enjoyed reading it, especially since I couldn't make the VIP show. I'm looking forward to your other reviews as I was there Saturday and Sunday. Good pics too. I like Joe Vana's eyeglasses.

The best way to have this fest every year is for Andrew to have his wife and kids handle all the logistics. This will take the pressure off of him. Once they get it down pat, we can have one every 6 months - a summer outdoor event and winter indoors! I can picture the McNiece spawn posting flyers all over town promoting the event...wearing their MRF III shirts.

I also wanted to mention he said King of the Night Time World and Plaster Caster were also written about him (but don't say anything because he shared that information in strict confidentiality...and he was serious when he told me). He did rock it on both nights. He is an entertainer.

I always associate Bryan Adam's "Reckless" with summer since it came out during my college days (and one of the first hits was "Summer of '69"). And I always have to go with one of my faves, Eyes-s/t.

A day I remember well as I was in hight school and Highway To Hell was very popular at the time. Plus it was my first girlfriend's birthday and I reminded her it was the same day as Bon Scott's death.

http://www.examiner.com/x-11979-Elgin-Community-Examiner~y2010m2d10-Earthquake-hits-Elgin Did you feel the ground shake last night? I did! It woke both me and my dogs up, and they seemed quite afraid. In my sleepy stupor I assumed it was a train rattling nearby. Nope. According to the Courier News, Elgin experienced an earthquake that originated in or near our beloved Elgin, Illinois. The
