From jambase.com http://www.jambase.com/article/neal-schon-wants-santana-reunion-concerts "It’s something I really want to do, so maybe we (Journey) take a hiatus for a year. Arnel (Pineda, Journey’s singer) would like to take some time off, so instead of doing two years in a row of hard Journey, maybe we do one year and we give it a rest and let it sit for a second. Sometimes when

Just two UK dates, global mainstream publicity recently with Axl. I have no doubt these shows will totally re-sell out. Tickets that are made available will no doubt be priced above what folks originally paid for them too.

I understand the logic in bringing someone in to boost the BV's Terry (and fair play for not flying them in from a Mac..), but being he is a backing musician, just seems odd that the lead vocalist wouldn't now sing it. Especially as Arnel apes Steve Perry, down to the adlibs, for the whole set anyway!

This guy does a decent job. I know Deen sang it previously, but he was in the band anyway. Now he's gone, what is it technically that means Arnel doesnt cover it off?

Yup, me too. That's big parts of the South West of England, Norfolk, north of Scotland, as well as a chunk of Wales where the radio signal has been axed. A commercial, but sad development. I have got the stream on at home, but that's not easy for those where broadband is patchy. That DAB I have got in the car is just about redundant already. A good soul in the sonic backwater that is Ip

According to their FB page, Keith and Laurie are joined by Rocky Newton on bass (Lionheart, McAuley Schenker), Linda Kelsey (keys?) and Laurie's son from the Treatment, Dhani on drums. No mention of any other dates, nor album.

Great programme tonight. As well as interviews with the man himself, some nice appreciative contributions from Steve Lukather, Phil Collen, Brian May. No doubt it will be repeated if you missed it here in the UK.

In Europe at least. No, you don't have to subscribe to listen, and you can still go and buy the CDs, having perhaps given the artists a few cents by listening. No brainer.

That's a valid point. The flip is that having written, played, recorded and produced one of the true blueprint records for AOR (without Pro Tools, Autotune etc), we could perhaps forgive his subsequent output couldn't we?

I may well not have the full story, but if a label/artist,for whatever reasons(commercial and/or creative) decides not to issue a sample of every single track in advance, are they really devils spawn? Quite appreciate it is often done, and would seem favourable to fans, but is it mandatory?

I'm a big fan too, Terry. I've a feeling that Purple are one of those bands who suffer from being over familiar/overplayed to many of us. Result being we perhaps lose a sense of just how important they are as pioneers for a lot of the music we all love.
