I am an avid Liverpool supporter and have been since I was about 3 years old and saw an interview with a strightforward and biting scotsman by the name of Bill Shankly. I'm not telling you which team to follow, thats a personal choice but I did gigle at your question about most hated and most loved teams.....that entirely depends on who you support LOL. The biggest 'rivalry' arguably in the

I just love Steve's playing. A very unique style and approach. Was first introduced to his playing by a school friend (and future band mate) who was a drummer and was really into Rod Morgenstein, so I got into The Dixie Dregs almost immediately. Followed his solo career but then sort of lost interest once he joined Purple. It just didnt seem right to me that he would be playing Smoke On The

There are a number of reasons for this and the record industry laying the blame solely on downloads and streaming is both wrong and misguided. Yes the truth is that downloading/streaming may affect sales but nothing like the level these idiots believe. The MAJOR problem is (and has been for many a year) is that record companies are run by money men looking to turn a quick profit. How long have

Hi Alex Love the guitar playing and sound, some lovely melodies and sweeps there :) Musically its well put together but there is just something lacking in the vocals. It just seems a little too laid back and the singer sounds almost bored. Just my opinion though mate. Andy

Is the Edge that unique though? Maybe early days (even that was an exaggeration of Thin Lizzy rythm guitar playing), but I havent heard anything unique or different in his playing to many other guitarists over the last 20 years or so. I rate Johnny Marr as a much more unique and inspirational guitarist than the Edge.....and I fookin HATE the Smiths LOL. My own opinion is that Jon's comm

I think this may go back to a comment where JBJ likened early Bon Jovi to Springsteen meets Van Halen and latter day Bon Jovi is Springsteen meets U2.....could possibly explain why i think theyve been shit for years.... :) Andy

have to say I think Bruce is sounding good nowadays and Ive never been a huge fan of his. He seems to have retaught himself to sing. his breathing and phrasing are much much better than it was even in the 80's, He and the band have wisely dropped down to accomodate his voice but that's to be applauded and hasnt become a detrimental effect on the music. There is no doubt they are very very good at what they do, but to me they are just another Zeppelin clone so surely that cannot be 'the future'? Not knocking them at all but I am sick and tired of 'clone' bands. Rock music needs an almighty kick up the arse again. There is no originality at all. Andy

An overlooked classic. Still stands out today. It was a very brave move when this was released. Avant Garde metal and I believe it was during this release that the term 'thinking man's metal' was first used to describe Queensryche. Andy

Nope, wasnt calling people in general deluded. It was your comment about 'this type of band' keeping melodic rock alive. Melodic rock is alive and well, its just not the schmaltzy europop drivel these guys are peddling. There are plenty of modern melodic rock bands doing okay. Its the whole view by some that it isnt melodic rock if it doesnt follow an 80's blueprint that is wrong. I love

Errmmm its an honest appraisal. I couldnt give two shits whether its positive or not. For me they epitomise all that is wrong with melodic rock and are aprime exapmple of why the popularity went in the first place (NOTHING to do with Cobain and his mates). I fell in love with melodic rock back in the early 80's because it had everything I look for in music, hooks, melody, balls and most of all
