I'll be at Birmingham next week and hoping the soundman doesn't think Journey need to be the loudest band of the night again and therefore lose all the textures their songs possess. Seen them the last 2 tours and Arnel was the star both times, but Cain & Valory can look like they lost their slippers, compared to Arnel & Schon putting on a show. If they are quieter than Whitesnake,

The post office would have disappeared if it wasn't for Ebay. Every time I queue, its full of people asking for a postage quote for their Ebay sales

They can have 4 points and stay up - Villa need to share the last game. Norwich may as well go down, they show so little interest in trying to score or entertain Well done to Wigan today

They've repeatedly shot them themselves in the foot over the years for coming onstage pissed or worse. Some great CDs but I'll never bother seeing them live again.

Good to hear Lost Weekend have a new album out soon. I saw them play a support slot with Dante Fox a couple of weeks back - very impressive. I think 3 of their new songs were in the set

Saw them support (I think) King's X at Manchester around 1989. Very impressive live sound and I bought 2 of their albums, Street Ready and another equally as good, although all my vinyl is long gone now. I'm not usually a fan of the heavier bands but this lot appealed. Best designed band t-shirts I've seen too

Surprised anything mildly red neck could get on the BBC !! Just had a listen, sounds like a good songwriter but not blown away by his voice, there's much better out there - Montgomery Gentry, Pat Green, Jackopierce, for instance

Not quite, but 2 years after the split its nice to see the interest is still there. TTW is down to a handful and Vertigo sold about 1600 now. All the labels chasing it projected 700 max The website stats had over 400 pages read from Ukraine last month ????? Who are these people ? I bet they aren't paying for their downloads !!!

I think its the mix of all people in a band like Styx, that makes it what it is. Different characters make up the band and the sound, not everyone in the band has to be the star. Would Styx have sounded the same if Yngwie Malmsteen had been a member and played "better guitar" or some other metal scale widdling freak, or someone who disappeared into jazz at every opportunity ? No, JY

Sorry to hijack your show for a quick advert Andrew, there's no profit going on at these prices !! UK rockers Tara's Secret split 20 months ago, I've still got a few Vertigo & very few Tomorrow The World CDs in stock. Vertigo got a 90% review from our MR.com host in 2009 £2.00 each + UK P&P £1.20 per CD + Export P&P £2.20 per CD by Paypal to chaz19

Alliedforces asked - Why would you buy a MP3 ? Would you buy a six pack of beer with two cans missing ? Because everyone keeps complaining about the mix. If its not what most want to hear in CD format, try out the I-Tunes version played on a system set up for that format (not on a CD player set at CD EQ) and the muddiness so many refer to, goes away. I don't drink either mate, so I'd happi

Absolutely Patsicat, this is a masterclass. My head hurts like hell from strobe sickness last night, but my ears are enjoying the hell out of these albums.

The excellent recent "Balance" album from Hartmann had me sorting through his back catelogue "3" is really good, but "Out In The Cold" is some of the best rock music I've heard, period. How did I miss this first time around ? "Alive Again, Out In The Cold & Brazen" - the best opening 3 songs possible

Loved it on first listen and still play it regularly. Still finding new bits even now. I know I keep saying it, but BUY THE MP3 not the CD. I'm convinced its mixed for download where the EQs are always different to those a CDs.

I'm guessing I used to go to Buckley Tivoli Thursday rock nights with the Chester crew then ? I was based at Dale Barracks in Chester for 3 years 1988-late 1990. 8 years in Hong Kong too. Been living in Burton on Trent, in the English Midlands for 18 years

W-hey, a positive Cheetah thread at last I've always loved their "Rock & Roll Women" album and saw them twice back in 82 - at Reading, but their warm up show at The Venue in Victoria was truly superb. Chrissie Hammond sang part of "Scars of Love" hanging off the stage with her head on my shoulder - she was very sweaty !! Cracking gig.
