It was Grand Prix's album I bought after they supported Iron Maiden on the Piece of Mind tour, not Maiden's for another 3-4 months. Agree with Foreigner on the Journey bill, Styx were awesome too. Def Lep stunk after an hour of Whitesnake a few years back too.

I'm so glad my parents didn't have such dumb ideas. My Dad was a Jellyroll Morton fan and Mom liked Pat Boone. Not sure which sounds worse Jellyroll-Boone or Boone-Jellyroll A former member of the Staffordshire Regiment band changed his own surname from Trumper (not good) to Beethoven (hardly better)

iPod and iTunes all the way for me, haven't handled a CD for 4 years iPod in the car, who cares if the bite rate/size thingy is different when there's road noise, etc. Sounds damn good to me and the i-Tunes (people who bought this album also bought) recommendations probably account for 80% of my purchases. Excellent service and system. Cheaper to buy songs via iTunes and the band gets more

2 superb albums already, really looking forwards to this new one "I Don't Dance" - think Springsteen crossed with red neck country. Avoid the early EP tho

Awful news. Even my dad said he had a really good voice - and he hated pop & rock music !! I grew up listening to his voice some very good songs even higher, Survivor were on US music show Solid Gold almost weekly back in 1984-86 when I watched it in Hong Kong. We were really looking forward to seeing him with Survivor in Notts this October too. Sing it loud Jimi, RIP

Sounds like someone beat Jack to starting the thread !! We once integrated Whitesnake's "Give Me All Your Love Tonight" into an acoustic version of "Love Shy". You can see faces in the crowd thinking "I know that, but the setting is slowing my thought patterns.

The Calling had some really good songs but Alex Song is another of those singers who falls off too many note endings, does my head in Matchbox Twenty, Sister Hazel, Dishwalla/JR Richards are some of my faves and I also like some of the religious alternatives too like Natalie Grant & Francesca Battistelli

me too Andy, but not this dodgy cash in jobbie. I can just see all the devil's horn hand gestures as they drive away from the studios in their trucks, about as genuine as Metallica's reception at Glastonbury

Ouch !! just listened to The Mavericks covering "Dr Feelgood" on the Tribute to Motley Crue album - shudder !! Not good Florida Georgia Line sound good on "If I Die Tomorrow" and Robin Zander does a duet with Cassadee Pope which has its moments, but Leanne Rhimes' "Smokin In The Boys Room" almost hurts. Other tracks not previewing on ITunes yet, but Eli Young &

As the intrepid explorers approach the ominous island with smoke rising from the central volcano, the sound of beating drums drifts over the crashing of the surf. One explorer asks the native rowers what the drums signify but he only smiles and says "if drums play, then all is good, you should worry when they stop." The explorer asks what happens when they stop and the terrified rower l
