No one ever said that Bruce & Co. were dummies. This is just another reason why. If you've watched the 666 concertumentary, this is a band that clearly has their shit together.

I've given the entire album a complete listen once through, and as usual it's an amazing release. I don't know if it will match "The Unforgiving", but that's only because they set the bar so fucking high with that album. It gets almost impossible to match, let alone eclipse, consistently high-quality output. I'm going to reserve judgment, because I know there were a few tracks on TU tha

Yes, there is a 2-CD version for about $20 and a single disc for about $15. The boxed set is a real boxed set:

On Nuclear Blast here in the U.S. as well. The best price for the limited box set here appears to be Amazon, where it dropped from an initial price of US$104 down to US$77 shipped. That's roughly the same price as both the NB website and WT's own website, however from Amazon that price includes the shipping cost.

Disliking it is fine. I have no problem with that preference. But to say that it is "ludicrous" and doesn't belong in their music shows complete cluelessness about their repertoire.

"Personally--I think it's ludicrous for a band like this to bring in metal growling on any track. It's an entirely different bag and doesn't belong in their music." Lolwut? You are apparently clueless as to the history and origins of the band to make a statement like that.

"I'm guessing one cd by them-for me,is enough as they'll be pretty repetetive overall." *chuckle* I'm guessing you've only ever listened to The Unforgiving then. Their style has changed CONSIDERABLY over the years. From early death metal stylings in Enter and The Dance, becoming more gothic metal in Mother Earth, and slowly transitioning to more "radio friendly" melodic

Well that was a bit of a bork on my part. My brain saw "Evanesence" because that's usually the claim I see from people, that WT was trying to emulate Evanesence, but the timing is reversed. Nightwish, on the other hand, did predate WT, but I don't see the stylistic similarities. I never see people comparing Nightwish and WT. Nightwish has more traditional Euro power metal underlying

I have "Enter" with the Memories EP but to be honest, that era was to these ears pretty much like they wanted to replicate what Nightwish were doing. Ugh. Whenever I see claims like this, I want to vomit. Within Temptation came FIRST. "Enter" was released before Evanescence was on the musical landscape. Yes, Evanescence achieved prominance in the American market before WT d

I've been a fan since Mother Earth was released (2000). Taking their early sound with death vocals, but adding the lushness and orchestration of their recent material is a win for me. I'll be happy regardless. But yes, those who ONLY know them from The Unforgiving and have never heard material from Enter or The Dance, might be in for an ear-opening experience. :)

John Elefante? Producing an overtly Christian album? Shocking. Absolutely shocking. Not. Anyone with half a clue would know about John's past works and his deeply held religious beliefs. The nature of this album should come as a surprise to no one. Someone buying an Elefante project and then complaining about Christian references makes as much sense as buying a black metal album and then

"Would be nice if they called John Elefante in for a few songs." This. It's a travesty that the band's collective egos refuse to acknowledge the Elefante era (as brief as it was) and his contributions to the albums he performed on. I still think he could sing circles around Walsh... and even more so now. Which is even more why it will will never happen. Walsh wouldn't want to b

I'm going to disagree. A 320kbps mp3 created via LAME will, depending on settings used, not have an audible* difference from the original CD. * Yes there will be numerical/measurable differences via spectral analysis, but I'm talking about MP3s that sound audibly poor... laziness (or lack of expertise).

Seriously? People have been discussing the production quality of albums for as long as I can remember. Now granted, maybe you think they shouldn't, but they do. A piss-poor mixing job can make phenomenal content unpleasant to listen to (See the band Ten for example).

Just about all the record labels have shifted from physical discs to digital distribution for their promotional media. From the perspectives of cost, ease of distribution, and ability to track, I GET it. I actually like being able to grab promotional releases without having to wait for a disc in the mail. Elefante-era Kansas is my favorite Kansas material. If you have not yet done so, you need to get the DVD of the 1982 Omaha performance: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kansas--Live-Confessions-Usa-DVD/dp/B002QK2Y2Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334943037&sr=8-1 Be forewarned, it is taken from VHS with zero mastering whatsoever, but from a MUSIC perspective it is absolutely mandatory.
