Best or most prolific? Regardless, The Eagles and Aerosmith would head the list for me.

All this does is delay the pirating and torrenting until the day of release. It doesn't STOP anything. For the last 10+ years (almost 15 actually) I have made 60-second clips of songs from Frontiers releases available to my visitors (with Frontiers' explicit permission). Well, that's over. I've received confirmation that the only promotional audio will be streaming only (no download) and no

Apparently the timing and substance of his final album were planned with his impending demise in mind: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/12092542/Bowies-last-album-was-parting-gift-for-fans-in-carefully-planned-finale.html

Final "Best of" lists for 2015 are going to be tough as hell this year. SO many deserving candidates.

I don't get H.E.A.T. - Live in London being on people's lists. The canned crowd noise added in post production just ruins the album for me. It sounds completely fake.

Pretty much anything from that post-Nirvana period in the mid '90s where so many '80s hard rock bands thought "Hey, the radio masses love grunge, so let's try it!" It was a miserable period to be listening to new music... disappointment after dispappointment after disappointment. Then again, vocally I never really cared for either Paul Rodgers or JSS doing the material. Wrong voices. After his performance at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, I've always wondered what Queen fronted by George Michael would have sounded like for a full set.

Yeah, I saw that too. For a "Homecoming" show, that is one dead crowd.

I love some of the comments here... paraphrasing "Andrew's 10% is WAY off!!! Insulting! This album is at LEAST a 25%!!" Srsly? Splitting hairs are we? While I give it at least 20% or so, anything below 60% is going to be complete festering dogshit. Who cares if it's a 10, 20, or 30%? It's completely phoned in and a fucking miserable effort. That said, the new Geoff Tate may

Blind Love = Meh. No chorus, no harmonies, no nothing. If not for JBJ's recognizable voice, no one would ever confuse this with Bon Jovi.

Really? Doesn't bother me at all. What don't you like about it? P.S. In addition to the ELO comparison, I'm also hearing some Boston in the harmony vox.

Far too early to tell, but the preview sample blew me away. It's a modern AOR-centric version of Electric Light Orchestra. Preview song: https://soundcloud.com/cats-in-space-band/ From https://www.facebook.com/catsinspaceband The Cats have Landed! They are calling it ‘Power Pop Rock’, and their aim is to unashamedly take you back to the heady days of the 1970s when bands

At least instrumentally leading through the intro up to the chorus, it has that epic feel one would expect from a Gary Hughes effort, and the stylings are similar. Doing a search here, this album has gotten virtually zero mention. Too heavy for most folks? I've mentioned it a number of times on my own board, as the album has serious staying power for me, but seemingly no one is interested i

Isn't the use of backing tracks live seriously old news? It's been done for decades now. Heck, I've seen 7th Heaven live 3-4 times now, and they ALWAYS use backing tracks for their lush vocal harmonies. No biggie. The more layered the vocal harmonies, the tougher they are to pull off live... unless you're The Eagles. The bigger issue imo, is the canned crowd noise in H.E.A.T.'s Live in Lond

Best of lists from Mike, Pete, Jez, Terry and myself have been posted. Interestingly enough, even though (IMO) there were no alltime knock-your-boots-off best-of-genre classics released, there was a larger than average number of VERY good releases in 2014, and across a wide variety of genres... so much so that there was less consensus in our top 5 lists than ever before. If I've calculated pro

I'm surprised there's been no discussion of this album yet. IMO, it's a corker. Part Euro power metal, part melodic rock. Here are two of my favorite tracks showcasing the variance in style across the tracks on the album, the first being heavier somewhat power-metallish, and the second a ballad... that goes to 11. (It takes a while for the payoff, but it's worth it.) http://www.heavyharmon

No one ever said that Bruce & Co. were dummies. This is just another reason why. If you've watched the 666 concertumentary, this is a band that clearly has their shit together.

I've given the entire album a complete listen once through, and as usual it's an amazing release. I don't know if it will match "The Unforgiving", but that's only because they set the bar so fucking high with that album. It gets almost impossible to match, let alone eclipse, consistently high-quality output. I'm going to reserve judgment, because I know there were a few tracks on TU tha

On Nuclear Blast here in the U.S. as well. The best price for the limited box set here appears to be Amazon, where it dropped from an initial price of US$104 down to US$77 shipped. That's roughly the same price as both the NB website and WT's own website, however from Amazon that price includes the shipping cost.

Disliking it is fine. I have no problem with that preference. But to say that it is "ludicrous" and doesn't belong in their music shows complete cluelessness about their repertoire.
