I loved both albums. The only song I didn't care for on the follow up was the Kelly keeling track.

Wrong once again, Metal Edge wasn't their only publication. They were also in Hit Parader, Circus, among others. Marc Danzeisen says they were a 70's style classic rock band with Blues and funk and pop influences. He said Vivian was labeled the "metal" guy but he didn't think they were promoted as such. When they did the acoustic radio tour several of the stations were top 40

Not literally in my back yard. But blocks from where I lived at a local coffee shop. Nice intimate 30-40 people setting. We were just shouting out songs and Rob would play them. It was amazing!!!

Whitesnake isn't hard rock either. They are total blues rock. They went commercial in the end of the 80's but they are blues rock.

He probably send you stuff I send him if that was the case. He wasn't collecting his own bootlegs. He didnt even have the demos I have because he didn't care about keeping some of them.

Haha. Yes I was on a production Crew for 4 shows in San Diego and LA in 2004. I'm in the credits on their official EPK. Marc credited me for saving a show in SD because he lost his gig bag in LA and I was his gopher and hooked him up with sweet drumsticks from a local music store. Haha. I also have a full show of steering with my knee (Rob live acoustic album) he did two shows right in my bac

Easily. This is my favorite harem scarem album. Didn't think they would ever top weight of the world but they did. Even the acoustic bonus track is awesome. It makes me wish they did a few more acoustic tracks.

I have all of them, all of Rob's solo albums, singles and about 30 Riverdogs demos. And at least 6 live Riverdogs or lamothe bootlegs. I'm kind of a fan. Haha

I'm not even gonna waste my fucking time with you. I am sick of arguing with you. you are so fucking hard headed. Typical you can't provide your bullshit article and now demanding mine. Also never said it was a full article. Many metal edge articles were one page or 1/2 page things. Also don't remember mentioning Duran Duran and the likes so shove that bullshit back up your ass. I'm done

Find me one article from metal edge that says they were hard rock. You just pulled that out of your ass. Metal edge had pop, aor, rock, thrash, prog, alternative, even ramones. Hell they even had articles on Michael Jackson. If you think that magazine was solely for hard rock fans you are sadly misinformed. And sorry bro Whitesnake was a blues band too. Wake the fuck up and get over yourse

He obviously never read metal edge. They ran the gamut from borderline pop to thrash and even included all the early grunge too.

Also Epic records never really promoted them anyway which is why it was a one and done with them.

And the picture you posted isn't a marketic campaign. It's a sticker on a reissue by someone who has absolutely nothing to do with Riverdogs promotion.

Sorry no. You are wrong. I knew them. Rob is from the same place I live in and I knew of him when he was writing songs with Robbin Crosby. Vivian wasn't even going to be a member of the Riverdogs. Metal edge promoted all kinds of bands that weren't hard rock. Nelson wasn't hard rock. They were promoted like crazy in metal edge. Journey had articles in there, bad English, bon Jovi and a ton

Blues rock. They were never marketed as bluesy HARD rock. Their singles we're not hard rock and they went on an acoustic radio tour to promote the album. Riverdogs have always been blues based rock.

I miss those days hustler. We had a similar one called Blue Meanie records in SD. They were cool as fuck because they did imports from all over the world on CD and vinyl and if you were interested they would open it up and let you listen to it. I was there buying stuff, every weekend.

Me too. I bought tyketto, open skyz, heavy bones and von groove solely based on Zito. Funny think is I didn't even know open skyz was Valentine. Never heard them on the radio, never saw them on MTV. I read about the other 3 in metal edge but if it wasn't a well known producer I probably would have waited until I hear them somewhere.

I liked the Avalon CD but I have never been a huge fans of multiple singers on projects because they always tend to be "all over the place" for me, but I went into it with lower expectations and was happy because I liked many of the singers he got for the project. Besides, no producer is full of home runs but if you go simply by the back and get zito produced albums, you've got good al

When I used to buy records I would definitely look at the producer and Mixer when they had a history of good albums, I would take chances on other things they were involved with. Now not so much. I listen before I buy because there are so many people involved in it now and so many bands producing themselves. I bought Tyketto's first album without listening to anything or knowing anyone in t
