Thanks Granicus, I'm actually staying at a hotel in Notting Hill so that Record & Tape Exchange shop will be definitely on my list :-) I'm also pretty sure you left some stuff for me as I'm not solely interested in rock but also Pop, Prog, Westcoast...you name it. Is it at Notting Hill Gate? If so I just drove by one hour ago. It had a yellow sign but was seeling books and other stuff as well

Hi guys, I'm off to London for a business trip tomorrow morning and if time allows in between appointments I'd like to look around for CDs. I'm sure you guys on here could recommend some cool (2nd hand) CD shops in the greater London area. Preferably those with a real good assortment. I read somewhere recently that it might even be worth stepping into HMV as they have a good bargain bin se

Scott, which version of "Freedom Rock" does sound "a little better"? I'm assuming it isn't the European version, right? I know that the Asian version does have two bonus track but heard that the European version sounds better? Is there yet another version available? Cheers Ralf

No, you're perfectly right! Guess they were a French band (with English names printed on the cover though). Mixed by Armand Volker (FREIHEIT producer) in Munich back in 1986. I wonder if more as of yet unreleased songs were produced back then... I mean, this sounds really good! Maybe one of the specialist Re-issue labels would like to investigate futher. Cheers Ralfster

I'm pretty sure that's not their real names printed on the cover. Most probably it's a French band you thought their full blown AOR image would only be complete with English names... Just a guess of course. The only name I'm familiar with is mixing engineer Armand Volker, a german producer who did all the popular (MÜNCHNER) FREIHEIT albums in the 80's. Producer J.M. Hauser must be Jean-Mar

Sorry, but whereas I agree that OU812 was rather patchy IMHO the F.U.C.K. album was far superior (more consistent songwriting and much better production). Balance sou

Does anybody know where I could possibly get issues 1 and 2 of that mag? I just bought the latest issue while being on a business trip to London last week and I'd love to get those back issues somehow. The official online ordering option that was featured on the frontpage a couple days ago just features issues 3 and 4 unfortunately. I've just ordered #3 there (for £ 8.99 incl. postage to Germany

Thanks a lot mate, exactly what I was looking for! :-) I won't have too much time anyway so I'll probably go to Tottenham Court Road and check out the Music And Video Exchange first and Sister Ray afterwards. Cheers Ralf

Hi guys, I'll be on a business trip in Bromley/ London next weekend and if time allows I'd like to check out some 2nd hand stores and / or flea markets. I'm sure you guys can recommend a few shops which are open on Sunday (have to work all Saturday unfortunately). I'll stay in Bromley but I'm pretty sure there's nothing in sort of CD shops out there so London downtown recommendations are perfe

Leon, I'm sure all they every released officially are these two singles (both available on CD but very hard to find). A pity really as all tracks on these singles are high quality AOR. There is a offical band tribute site somewhere on the net where a few other unreleased tracks are mentioned. I can't find it right now but I'm sure a google search will lead you there. Cheers Ralf

I have to admit I was a bit sceptical after reading the lineup for the new FATE CD (with bassist Peter Steincke being the sole original member left). However after listening to "All I Wanna Do" (pre-recording (?) for the new FATE CD) on Dagfinn Joensen's myspace page I'm psyched and can't wait for the new CD. IMO Much better vocals than on "V" and the style certainly harks bac

You're in for a treat, Gaz! The guys were just awesome and put on a killer show. Off "Serenade" they played at least "Cry Wolf" (opener), "Strangers In The NIght" and "Do You Remember". Tight sound, massive backing vocals and stellar musicianship with killer soloing is what you can expect... and don't forget Jules who's one of the most charismatic front

I thought there were no HQ versions of this one in circulation... I might be wrong though and if anybody has a decent sounding copy then I'm certainly interested as well :-) What a great album that's hidden under the muddy sound! It's a crying shame that a proper CD release from the original master tapes seems so unlikely (from what I've heard and read here on this board at least). Well, one c

Wow, I had no idea these cruise live shows had been filmed and released! Would love to see them! Andrew, do you know where these DVDs can be bought from? Phew, I'd really love to go on one of his cruises... especially since his German gigs in late 2010 had been cancelled at the last minute and I still haven't seen the man live. I wonder if is touring plans in Europe were scraped altogether or

Yeah, great great band (also live) and "Keep The Dream Alive" is a brilliant AOR CD all around. If I remember correctly they've been discussed here on this very board at the time when this came out in 2009. Back then I was puzzled that such a strong band didn't get signed. But then again maybe they preferred taking the self distribution route... Wish they don't wait too long and
