Thanks guys, great stuff!! I've gone through all your recommendations now. Looks like some places are a bit far from Michigan Ave where my Hotel is, especially the Exclusive store in Greenfield unfortunately. I hope to be able and check out the big Reckless one in Milwaukee Ave. (have been in their downtown shop today already and left with 7 CDs at just 1$ each :-), Record Breakers (Reggie

I'm in Chicago from tomorrow on (returning next Tuesday) and will have have a bit spare time in between business. I was hoping to get some advice here from those who live over there or have been there on good CD shops (2nd hand and others). Is there anything similar to Amoeba at all? Also are there any AOR / Melodic Rock related concerts in the Chicago area between September 30 and October 4?

I've had these demos for years. They are really good musically but let down by a subpar sound quality - even for demo standards. I've also been told on more than one occasion from various labels that they weren't available in better sound quality unfortunately and therefore no one wants to release them. Now I'm asking myself what this "remastered" version will sound like.

Not sure about the band on the beach but some of these faces look familiar for sure... Could it be BOGART CO. maybe?

"Midnight" is an awesome album. One of my personal all time AOR classics actually. That SYNCH album is great as well. "Time" has a more laid back Midwest sound but is another goodie. Apart from that I have a 1990 promo single which has two cool non album tracks and it seems there's also a non album SYNCH single out there. Anyone knows if there's any other recorded JIMMY HARNEN

Can't check as I'm travelling but pretty sure I've got a follow-up CD to "Midnight" from 1996 I think. Very good CD but much more in a Westcoast/ Midwest sound though.

Gutted, another one taken by cancer way too soon! :-( Bit of a shame RM seems to be unknown to most on this messageboard... What a nice guy and immense but yet so underrated talent. In the early days of the internet, when his first solo CD came out (round 1995), we were exchanging e-mails when ordering his 1st solo CD directly through him. Such a funny, friendly and witty personality! I simpl

Thanks Paul! I have a meeting in Sandton tomorrow so might have time to look after that shop. A quick google search in Sandton brought up the "musica megastore". Maybe that's the one you've been to. Btw I'll spend three full days in Cape Town so if there's a cool place to go please let me know. Cheers Ralf

I'm on a business trip to Johannesburg and Cape Town currently and hope to have some time left. Well escaping the cold Eiropean winter is nice already but I was also hoping for some music shopping :-) Can any of you guys recommend some cool CD shops in these two cities? Also are there any South African AOR / Melodic Rock bands to look out for? Cheers Ralf

Preview s/t (1983) Guess they haven't been mentioned yet... Absolutely awesome AOR. Although there are boots with songs for a follow up album floating around, I believe that line-up didn't actually record anything else? Always wondered why the Gold brothers virtually disappeared musically speaking. Such talent wasted!

Wow, could this be the same GHOST that released the CD "The Other Side" on Now & Then in 1995? Seems unlikely to me but as haven't read about another band of the same name lately on here... Cheers Ralfster

Steve, try this one: http://www.universal-music.de/bryan-adams/videos/detail/video:371943/you-belong-to-me Although quite catchy this does very little for me personally. But it's also far from being his worst. Yeah, just take "Underwear" or most tracks from "11" which bored me to death. Cheers Ralf
