"Midnight" is an awesome album. One of my personal all time AOR classics actually. That SYNCH album is great as well. "Time" has a more laid back Midwest sound but is another goodie. Apart from that I have a 1990 promo single which has two cool non album tracks and it seems there's also a non album SYNCH single out there. Anyone knows if there's any other recorded JIMMY HARNEN

Can't check as I'm travelling but pretty sure I've got a follow-up CD to "Midnight" from 1996 I think. Very good CD but much more in a Westcoast/ Midwest sound though.

Gutted, another one taken by cancer way too soon! :-( Bit of a shame RM seems to be unknown to most on this messageboard... What a nice guy and immense but yet so underrated talent. In the early days of the internet, when his first solo CD came out (round 1995), we were exchanging e-mails when ordering his 1st solo CD directly through him. Such a funny, friendly and witty personality! I simpl

Thanks Paul! I have a meeting in Sandton tomorrow so might have time to look after that shop. A quick google search in Sandton brought up the "musica megastore". Maybe that's the one you've been to. Btw I'll spend three full days in Cape Town so if there's a cool place to go please let me know. Cheers Ralf

I'm on a business trip to Johannesburg and Cape Town currently and hope to have some time left. Well escaping the cold Eiropean winter is nice already but I was also hoping for some music shopping :-) Can any of you guys recommend some cool CD shops in these two cities? Also are there any South African AOR / Melodic Rock bands to look out for? Cheers Ralf

And... is it a major improvement over the original CD soundwise? (not really interested in lives bonus tracks to be honest)

Preview s/t (1983) Guess they haven't been mentioned yet... Absolutely awesome AOR. Although there are boots with songs for a follow up album floating around, I believe that line-up didn't actually record anything else? Always wondered why the Gold brothers virtually disappeared musically speaking. Such talent wasted!

Wow, could this be the same GHOST that released the CD "The Other Side" on Now & Then in 1995? Seems unlikely to me but as haven't read about another band of the same name lately on here... Cheers Ralfster

Steve, try this one: http://www.universal-music.de/bryan-adams/videos/detail/video:371943/you-belong-to-me Although quite catchy this does very little for me personally. But it's also far from being his worst. Yeah, just take "Underwear" or most tracks from "11" which bored me to death. Cheers Ralf

David, you need to get "Kingdom Of Desire"! Fantastic album which should suit your hard rock / uptempo taste just fine :)

Strange... The majority seems to vote for "Wicked Sensation" but I've always preferred the s/t. Awesome album! Even got the japanese pressing years later because of the two additional tracks.

Thanks Ardian, good to know I'm not the only one. Still I find it strange that there's not more about this on the net somwhere. The amazon seller now replied. He had some more sealed copies lying around and he was kind enough to open a few and give em a listen. Seems all others are ok, which means I'll get my replacement copy soon :-) @ Tim, Jay, In the meantime, by figuring out the fir

Having recently bought ROMEO'S DAUGHTER's Rapture CD from an amazon marketplace dealer I was so looking forward to giving it a first spin today. Now imagine my surprise when, after expecting a nice dose of full blown female fronted AOR, I heard that CRÜE / VAINish glam / sleaze rock sound coming out of my speakers with vocals along the lines of Sebastian Bach!! Now I don't understand why I ca

Thanks guys! Just checked re Sounds at St. Marks Place and it seems they just closed earlier this year... Bad luck :-( Btw have been walking around Manhattan for several hours yesterday and haven't seen one single record shop...

I'm currently staying in Manhattan (til Tuesday) and was wondering if there's any cool cd shops left that you guys could recommend. No specialized stores really but rather the kind of shop like Amoeba in San Francisco which has a huge selection of bargain bin stuff. Cheers, Ralfster

Wow, seems like a definite must buy to me! Wasn't Play to win on the Fast Forward album as well? By the way, are these your average demos sound wise or fully produced tracks?

Tim, Pretty sure this is the song you're looking for: http://youtu.be/0e08TWflUAo Stylewise LIVING IN A BOX were very similar to GO WEST. And it's not just Richard Darbyshire's vocals! Pretty cool video too and even features a great guitar solo. BRIAN MAY is listed as guest guitarist in the credit notes but not sure if he's actually playing the solo... Ralf

Agreed, "Truth In A Structured Form" is an awesome piece of AOR injected Southern Rock - absolutely on par with any late 80's 38 SPECIAL album if ya ask me. There's not one weak track on there but here's three of my faves: http://youtu.be/u0WYZknv-fY http://youtu.be/s97EMiKxtm4 http://youtu.be/Jr1WBnb5e3Q
