All of them. There is no wrong album. They were on top of their game in the progressive years and they outright dominated the 80's pop years, be it the band or the solo efforts of the artists. Heck, even their oldies-sounding debut from the late 60's was a cut above a lot of the other groups that got all the airplay on the radio. You really can't go wrong no matter what you choose. But give

I have too many deciding factors when it comes to liking the song. Usually the first turnoff point is if the song starts with Screamo or auto-tune. Use these to start the song and it's instant turn-off. A song with a poor chorus is also a song-killer.

I thought the last Hurricane was an excellent album. And I'd welcome another like it.

Yea, I'm still getting a warning as well. I thought it was just Google Chrome being stupid. But Firefox gives me the same warning.

I haven't been able to access the forum for almost 2 weeks now. I keep getting a 'malware warning' with no ability to access the forums. So for the record, if you check this noticeboard, I'm sticking with my Super Bowl pick and choosing the Ravens to finish playoff pick'ems. If one of you could post the current standings here, it would be appreciated. Thanks, From Jonny B (the Aspie Giraffe)

I'm also getting the same message, and for a solid week. If it helps, I'm getting this message from every web browser, and I've run every program I have that removes viruses/spyware/malware/stuff like that on my system, and yet I still get the same warning.

I wasn't aware they had done another album together. Makes me wonder why they didn't just write it under the Cain's Offering name.

One that comes to mind is Cain's Offering, which was a one-off project that featured an all-star cast of Finnish power metal (Timo Koltipelto of Stratovarius, as well as the two primary songwriters of Sonata Arctica,) and IMO, was significantly better than anything their original bands have released in the past 7 years, and yet it went practically unnoticed. I wish they'd do another album.

If not, at least the album cover may have an awesome hand-painted work of art. 'Alibi' is still one of my favorite album covers of all-time.

By far, the most putrid epic fail of the year. I mean, even their screamo moments in previous albums had 'some' continuity. But now they're just heavy experimental garbage, with not even the slightest hint of their amazing 'Dream' album.

I don't know who was involved in the recording/production of the two Murder of my Sweet albums, but I have some advice. The biggest problem I had with tMotS album #2 was the vocal recording. It sounded like Angelica was singing through her nostrils the whole album. I don't know if that's the way she sings or if it was how the vocals were recorded on Album #2, but it was a complete turnoff and

I'm guessing you prefer dull, boring, and uninspiring second-rate songs completely lacking a big chorus hook? It's all about big chorus hooks in music. And Ben Moody forgot to pack those when he left Evanescence. And given the alternatives...Avril Lavigne...Kelly Clarkson...some other auto-tuned, girly-sounding pop singer hiding behind a few guitars...yeah, Amy Lee wins, hands down.

Ben Moody probably heard the new Evanescence album and ran away with his tail between his legs. But seriously...Ben Moody's been using the WatF official Facebook page to promote his other things, and it's pissed off his WatF fanbase to the point where a lot of them 'unliked' the band.

My biggest problem with Issa; I felt that her voice was too girly to be considered a serious AOR singer....Looks like she's addressed the problem. This is the best I've ever heard her sing, and I hope her voice on the other covers are just as high a quality.

My biggest concern when they made Anette the new singer was if her health and her voice could hold up on tour. After being hospitalized during the US tour, the answer was No. I hope that after the tour that Nightwish consider Floor Jensen for more than just a substitute...SHe can sing both clean and operatically and do so better than most of the singers out there. I hope they consider her as a

Sheriff. Although a lot of people hold this album in high praise, I just never got into it. Their offshoots (Frozen Ghost and Alias) were much better IMO. First album from each group are in my Top 50 all-time favorite 80's albums.

...had the opposite effect on me. The debut was my first HS album and it was his clean vocal that I grew accustomed to. His new, more aggressive raspy style on 'Weight of the World' turned me off at first, but it grew on me and the album quickly became one of my Top 5 all-time favorite post-80s melodic rock albums. Same deal with Paul Laine. Wasn't dealing too well with the Laine-era of Danger

Seems like a trend nowadays to have multiple vocalists and styles, be it good ones or unlistenable ones. Sirenia (Female Clean, Male Clean/Grunt, Choir) Amaranthe (Female Clean, Male Clean, Screamer) Epica (Female Operatic, Male Clean/Grunt) Solution .45 (Male Clean, Grunt) Ayreon (Every vocalist and style imaginable) All Ends (Two female clean voices) To name a small few.

Walk In The Shadows Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > How do you feel about this track from Clarkson? > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YI3WuKKXY3I I will admit, Kelly Clarkson had potential when she released 'My December.' That was the one album where she said 'f*** you' to the record label and did her own thing. I think she could've been the next Amy Le

Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Fefe Dobson, Orianthi, etc. Yes, pop singers do use more guitars nowadays, but it still doesn't hide the fact that it's still recycled pop music with shallow teen lyrics and girly voices. They need to take some music lessons from Lzzy Hale on how to rock the RIGHT way.

Seems like the melodic rock labels, existing ones and defunct ones, seemed to have an awful lot of one-off projects. Of these, which ones would you like to see more albums from? My top choices: Two of a Kind (This is a no-brainer. The vocal harmonies were incredible.) Cain's Offering (All-Star cast of Finnish metal. Sonata Arctica songwriters and Stratovarius singer wrote better songs he

...And I'm thinking the new term should be 'cookie cutter rock.' Seems like the 'modern' sound is content with sounding like Nickelback or Shinedown and there's no potential game-changer in sight. It's a new decade. Somebody's gotta step up.

Savannah's end was pretty messy, mostly involving a combination of a bad record label, a breach in contract as a result of a band member signing a solo project with a competing label, and also the band members' commitments outside of music. I knew that singer Earl Lord was having problems with his voice at the time as well. The pre-Savannah album, Lord Grey "Lady of the Lake" was rei

...Although I don't dabble much into Rush, I do have their 'Chronicles' compilation. I was just thinking, what do you think a third cd of the 'Chronicles' would look like? Include any tracks from 'Counterparts' all the way to the new 'Clockwork Angels.' Up to two live tracks are allowed as well, for so long as the songs came from within this era of Rush albums.

If the Blackhawks are desperate they could snag Quick's backup, who I believe is a free agent this year. The other Jonathan doesn't have jaw-dropping numbers but his 2.36 GAA and .909 save% is better than Crawford's numbers.

Their first album rocked. Big chorus hooks and strong songwriting throughout. I thought the second album played things too safe...The cover song saved the album...I hope they'll turn things up a notch again if they see album #3.

I'd think it would be a tough call, but surprisingly, I decided very quickly. If I had to choose, it would have to be Genesis. Even the 'Revelations' album makes for some decent 'oldies' style music and is pretty solid for a debut. The Peter Gabriel era boasts some of the best experimental progressive rock available for it's time. From 'Nursery Cryme,' to 'Foxtrot's' amazing 'Supper's Ready,'
