This was 10 years ago now, but I went to a Rush gig with my old man to keep him company and had never heard of their stuff before. Now I have all of their studio albums.

Shade. They definitely deserve the rest. I've seen them around 15 times (including twice with the FF) and what a gig they put on. No fancy lights, no stage props, just pure rock and roll. They went through a dodgy patch in the mid 80s and 90s (Rock Til You Drop & Under The Influence albums excluded) but found their sound or passion again in the 2000s onwards. I hope they still release a

Would love to go to that - bit far for me, but I do like a drink in a proper yorkshire pub and great music would be the icing on the cake.

Sad day for me. First band I ever saw live and one of my favourite all time bands (the 80's were a bit dodgy, but the 70s and 20xx output was superb) " Status Quo today announce that their 2016 live shows will represent their last ever full on Electric tour. Following a final high profile European tour, which will start in October and include UK dates in December 2016, no further elect

Very good. Some might think it's tasteless, but you might as well make light out of a time when so many icons have gone.

Warrior, he did have a very unique and interesting voice. Fabulous actor. Also a real shame to hear about Celine Dions husband, Rene. Feel really sorry for the kids (14 and twin 5 year olds) losing their dad :(

Just reported that Alan Rickman has passed away (Cancer again) They say things come in threes. Well that's 3 artists who were around 69 now gone Alan Rickman, David Bowie and Lemmy (ok Lemmy just made it to 70). Icons from my youth are slowly passing on :(

I was never a huge fan, but really enjoyed some of his stuff. Very saddened to hear this news. He truly was a legend. We don't have many legends left! RIP Mr Bowie.

Michael Hutchence He "had" Kylie Minogue & Belinda Carlisle in their prime too - what a lucky guy he was at those times in his life. Shame he died so young.

For me too, Quo & Hello! are just monster albums from start to finish. I need the Quo & Hello remasters. Also want the John Eden remix of Rocking All Over The World as the original sounded flat, despite some great songs.

Brian May is a classy writer (and bloke from all the interviews and columns I read). Well said Brian. RIP Lemmy - I really should try listening to more Motorhead.

Only just got the new Def Leppard album so apologies for the repeated topic. Wings Of An Angel - absolutely immense. I have not been so excited by a song in long time. I love the change in tempo throughout. My favourite song of 2015 easily. Interested in others favourites off this superb album?

Terry, trust me. Even AC/DC can make a stadium special. My Mrs is not an AC/DC fan (she likes dance music and thinks Brian sounds like Daffy Duck - lol), but she came along 6 years ago to see AC/DC at Wembley Stadium and said it was the best gig she had ever been to. She said the atmosphere was electric and buzzing.

Mel - thanks for the link. I sure hope they don't retire. Even if they cut back the touring I hope they have another album or 2 in them as I absolutely loved Clockwork Angels - hoping the next one is a step back from the heaviness though :)

Gutted to hear that Neil Peart has retired. Rush are one of my favourite bands of all time and I am going to miss them. Can't blame Neil, what with having a young daughter that he wants to spend time with. Thanks for the music! You rocked!

Contraband is a superb album. Just listen to Slither & Fall To Pieces (how unfortunately apt) & Sucker Train Blues - brilliant stuff. Slither would be in my top 20 of all time rock songs - love it. RIP Scott and thanks for the memories - He was awesome live with VR when I saw them 11 years ago or so.

To me they are miles better than Zeppelin & Sabbath, but I think to the public they aren't perceived to be. I doubt most of the public even know Def Leppard are still going, hence the poor performance of their last album. The publicity for it was rubbish
