(3-way tie) The Babys- I'll Have Some Of That! (Production is piss poor, songs have very little replay value thanks to the absence of good choruses. Japanese pressing slightly redeemed by inclusion of "Not Ready to Say Goodbye") Bob Seger- Ride Out (Lacks the well crafted material that made him a legend) Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Hypnotic Eye (the same old bluesy riff

Have to agree with Surfpunk. Another "by the numbers" (no pun in-TEN-ded) album from a great AOR band. I'm not hearing another "Standing on the Edge of Time" or "Spellbound" anywhere here.

Hard to read this and not think of Jason Segel's sock puppet opera in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall".

Just as unmemorably lame and bluesy as that new Tom Petty record. Just letting the chords drive the songs... lazy stuff.

On which Bob sounds no more proficient than a weekend cover band at your local watering hole. Disappointing stuff. Aside from "All The Roads" (a good ballad in the same style as "In Your Time"), there's nothing special here unfortunately.

Don't forget Michael Gleason- Children of Choices. IMO, as good as any of the ones you mentioned. Like "Drastic Measures"-era Kansas mixed with "Time Line"-era A.D. Highly recommended!!

Jimi was one of my heroes. And always will be. I saw him twice, once he graciously signed my Empires CD. His passing leaves me numb and hollow inside. To me, it's on the same scale as the loss of John Lennon or Princess Diana. An immense talent, a wonderful human being and a life-long inspiration. Goodbye, Jimi. R.I.P.

Must say, I had some high hopes for this one, especially after the teaser single, "Not Ready To Say Goodbye". Then, I got the CD in the mail only to find that song was NOT on the 12-track CD. And... all the other songs sound undercooked (production is pretty raw sounding) and lacking memorable hooks. Another disappointment, I'm afraid, 34 years in the making. P.S. And the cove
