I gave this one a miss this time around as Sonata Arctica were playing London on the same night and I hadn't seen them before. Very glad I did as Temple Balls in support were absolutely amazing (amazeballs some may say!) and Sonata Arctica very good too. Excellent night and hope to see Temple Balls again very soon

Also saw Cyhra with Battle Beast and had been enjoying the album beforehand. Unfortunately the sound wasn't at its best where we were (sitting at the back due due old age and injury) but even so they still kicked my backside as did the brilliant Battle Beast

Mine arrived yesterday too - not had a chance to listen yet. Another of those bands that I've seen that sound better live than in the studio in my opinion but lets see if this one can change my mind.

For me he falls into that category of artists who is absolutely incredible live but whose studio output can be a little hit or miss. I think I last saw him in the UK after the afraid of ghosts release. I wasn't a fan of the album (though understand the reasons why it was how it is) but his one man live show was absolutely killer.

Does anyone know is Paul still in Arena? I agree the latest album is the weakest of their 3 but still has its moments. i've always preferred them live than on album in any case - absolutely killer harmonies. Anyway I'm sure you will all enjoy the Christmas single complete with kids choir.

At The O2 they curtain off parts of the top tier. For the first time I've seen them have different (general seating not platinum or any such wheeze) price levels for different areas in Level 1 (actually a fair idea). Have booked a couple of seats as it wasn't too expensive despite the ridiculous fees as usual. Foreigner and Europe are always great so they are worth the money even if Whitesnake ma

ah but the game that didn't finish with a positive result was much more likely to be an England victory than an australian one so i would say you were saved by the English weather!

One of my pet hates is piped crowd noise onto live releases - makes them virtually unlistenable for me

I got mine on Wednesday (UK) - hate it when the tracks aren't in the mp3 database I use when I go to rip it though so not loaded to my music player yet.

AOR Heaven usually carry his releases. I'm not sure his experience with Frontiers was a happy one.

A true genius and a damn nice bloke too. I'm a big fan of Aniday too featuring his lovely wife on vocals - a great slice of female fronted rock. Going back to Robby he is providing some trademark backing vocal choirs plus playing grand piano for a song on the new Knight Area album (Vocalist Jan Willem Ketelaers takes backing vocal duties live for Valentine).

I'm having Blaze of Glory by the Alarm. I already have some accompanying words about it spoken by Mike Peters as part of a dedication he did with a boxset. He did an acoustic version of the song too but I want a live version with the crowd all joining in unison.

This has been advertised for some time 9or at least the London gig has). Danny Vaughn is playing an acoustic show about 50 yards up the road same night.

I've seen the Cats somewhere around a dozen times and always been a great show. To me their brilliance is in their live performance rather than the albums (although they are fine) and obviously Paul has been a very large chunk of that. Await news of the new singer in the near future.
