Astral Doors are still a going concern. They are taking a break for a while, whilst NPJ does Civil war this year. There is little doubt that Civil War will be a lot bigger than Astral Doors because of the Sabaton debacle and who is involved. Also, Astral Doors now has 7 albums and an EP out including a greatest hits. Where do they go from here? DVD - supposedly to be filmed this fall. Trouble is

I for one support their new album immensely. Ralph has too long in the Death Metal ozone. Nothing bad about that, save he was a hired gun. This represents original material from him for once. Please correct me about the Death Metal stuff should it be necessary - I am uninformed by choice in this category.

To each their own, but I stand by what I write, what I believe in, and again I say, get them time and a good listen and you will see that they are ultimate next gen take on the legacy of the giants upon whose shoulders they stand. RIP Ronnie. Let Nils Patrik Johansson carry on that syle of music, as Frank Marino, Uli Jon Roth, and Robin Trower carried on the legacy of the Hendrix style of guitar.

Yes, indeed Terry. Just like the Hendrix school of guitar was continued by Robin Trower, Frank Marino, James Byrd, Uli Jon Roth, Randy Hansen etc., the Dio magic is carried on by Johansson, and a lot of other singers (like Jorn). It just takes education and patience with those that "Flumox" you.

It is out now in Europe. In Europe you can order it from Nuclear Blast in Germany, or Amazon sights around Europe. You can get it on European Itunes sites. As an import in America (US/Canada), order it through CD Inzane or NEH. Itunes won't get it until January 31, the slated NA Distro Release Date. Hope this helps.

Granted I am pretty biased toward Astral Doors, in an effort to build awareness and spread the word about this great band, the Astral Friar prognosticates on the new album - Jerusalem in a very long, in depth review of this masterful piece of work. They have surpassed all their previous work. How many bands can say or do that in reality? Well, here's one. http://boxofrock.blogspot.com

I thank everyone for their interest on behalf of Astral Doors. No, Astral Doors were never a doom band. They have been metalized classic rock since day one. They have some power metal influence, but trheir influences are deeply rooted in the Hammnond Organ 70's/80's hard rock sound. I would say they are updated a bit, and that only Jorn competes with Patrik Johansson for massiveness among classic

I have been doing grass roots promotion for this group for a year now. I BELIEVE in their music and vocalist - one Nils Patrik Johansson. The music speaks for itself. It doesn't take itself too seriously, but makes a statement nonetheless. I ask everyone to take a listen to this track which is off Astral Door's new album Jerusalem, set to be released October 20th. Their new album was featured in

It didn't ake a lot of sense. It is a bummer nonetheless because they were a good band.Their songs were well written and well produced. The first album being produced by Dennis Ward attracted a high-profile producer. I personally will miss them. The kicker.

I spoke with Nils Patrik Johansson of Astral Doors on Sunday, Sept. 18th and he regrets to inform that the Desert Forces of Rock Tour is to be postponed until January or February 2012. Numerous clubs have reneged on their commitments to the band and, as such, they cannot afford to tour with a day off every 2 or 3. Regardless, the new album Jerusalem comes out on October 20th. The September 30th s

While HBoA might be a little heavy for this site, Astral Doors certainly fit the mould for MHR. Here is a classic band that structures songs like no other, has more hooks than Micky D's has french fries, and a singer standing on the edge of superstardom, one Nils Patrik Johansson. This band's music has motivated two trips to Europe, two blogs, two videos, and more friends than all my previous

http://boxofrock.blogspot.com/ Hi All: Kick-ASS FM from Vancouver, BC here! It has been some time. A bit of an update was in order. I am going through a marital breakdown right now, but won't bother you with the Soap Opera. What this does afford is a chance for me to get back into my writings and travelling to see great rock concerts again and to accomplish a great life transformation. Astral D

Larger than life again, the story of his meeting the girl at the treatment center is one of great hope. That Ronnie takes the time time to be so human instead of becoming introverted during tough health times, speaks VOLUMES, just like the volume he sings at. LONG LIVE DIO!

Not on your life man, will I accept Nightwish without Tarja. I ceased buying any product whatsoever after she was fired. Saw the band on tour even with Anette Olson. Granted, Marku sings as good as ever, the songs were dumbed down from the level of complexity seen previously. The fact they were still using Tarja on taped back effects says it all. L8R. Sad.

Hi Paul, While it has been a couple of years since I have been to a Firefest, I have not forgotten about our last chance meeting in the elevator at the hotel at Firefest IV in 07. I am totally blown f&*&ing away by Eden's Curse. The lineup you guys put together is UNBELIEVABLE and the music is second to none. I put you guys up in the league with PC69 etc. Great productions merits abou

Gary is not changing, other than doing Karaoke as Joe Black, is allowing him to be too long with himself and his ego. None of the Ten records matched anything even close to what Vinny gave Ten. Vinny was right, Ten needed professional management, which maybe they couldn't afford. But anything would have been an improvement than the way this great band just sank off the face of the earth. Best news I've heard all week. Ten were done as a unit in my books years ago with the no updates and all on their website(s). Steve, Greg, and Lee all had the sense to bail on the this sinking ship while the funnel wasn't quite covered. Chris, despite his misguided loyalty or sense of timing, left just before the ship hit bottom. Let's hope he can still decompress and and not get the bends. I
