I have my tickets to see them in late June ... can't wait ... but then I was one of the people who loved the new album too!

Foreigner was the first band that came to my mind when I heard the track as well - good song!

I saw the front page news about Shooting Star in Illinois in July. Does anyone know who will be fronting them with lead vocals? I just haven't heard anything from them in so long and miss those guys ... is there a new album in the works by any chance?

Sounds like a bunch of screaming and noise to me ... no thanks.

I love mine! Got it from eBay for about $50 a few years back, but they're going for anywhere from $250 to $500 these days, depending on the condition. Amazing sound and so far ahead of its time.

I SO agree with you! I love this album and am willing to bet that 95% of the people complaining about it here have never even listened to it (beyond a few 60-second clips). But negativity often holds people together and so it goes around here.

While I'm walking around the house singing "sail away ..." because I can't get the hook out of my head, along with several others from the album. Loving it ... great stuff.

Well, hell must be freezing over because the new album was just posted as the #1 selling album in the country at Best Buy (which has some pretty stiff competition from all the other genres' Christmastime releases). Did you see the "thumbs up" review in the Huffington Post? Here it is ... rock on ... Boston "Life, Love & Hope" (Frontiers) Give Tom Scholz credit for

Two days ago, I went to Best Buy and bought my copy of the new Boston CD. This topic has been beaten to death at this board over the past couple of weeks, I know. Anyway, I have now listened through it over and over a number of times and have to admit that I love this album. It has "that tone" that made Boston famous and takes me back to 1976. I realize that Brad has died and that i

No kidding ... getting VERY boring ... these folks need to just read the old threads and move on with their lives ... let those of us who are excited about the new album enjoy it. Life is so much more fun when we lose all the negative energy. Bring on the new CD!!!

Yeah, I really don't care how much it rocks ... I have always enjoyed Roger's material and one of his strengths is how he can go from loud and fast to soft and sweet and I love it all. The fact that he's so eclectic is what makes it good. I don't need The Lot because I literally own every CD and single he's ever done, so I already basically have the lot! It's just the new one that I need.

Roger Taylor's new solo album (first in 15 years!) was released this Monday, 11/11. I haven't seen anything about it written here. Anyway, I live in the U.S. and discovered it's not available here. I tried to purchase it from the UK Amazon site, and it wouldn't let me download it because you can't do that from the U.S. So, I tried iTunes and tried to buy it and got the same error message. I

Strange thing for me is that I LIKE the fact that he hasn't changed since the 70's. In a lot of ways, my musical tastes haven't changed much in 40 years either, so the closer he sticks to the original formula and "song structures" the better - that's what I like about the sound. I don't believe he can "do no wrong" ... heck, everyone makes mistakes. But when he tried a heav

Who cares what the score is? I'm psyched to hear the CD anyway. I'm in the minority. He could rate it a "0" and I'd be the first to buy it. Maybe "that sound" just reminds me enough of my teenage years that I get excited about a new Boston album regardless.

It will be released here in 49 minutes ... not that I'm counting or waiting. I Will Survive is a killer track and I've been waiting for this CD for a couple of years - can't wait. Slamer and Greer can do no wrong when it comes to recording in a studio!!!

Point well taken ... My sons are 18, 20, and 22, and they "grew up" with Corporate America. As far as they are concerned, that's what Boston is "supposed to" sound like. They think Heaven on Earth rocks and is amazing and that the sound clips are promising. I think it's mainly the old people that just can't get past the idea that Boston is supposed to sound like 1976 that a

I tend to be the outlier on this board, so I'll do it again ... I actually like this song. Is it the Boston of old? Of course not. But when I hear "that sound" of guitars and all, it makes me smile and makes me think back to 1976 when the first album came out. I guess I just take it for what it is ... it isn't the original lineup and never will be again. But if the song rocks and s

I am SO excited ... just read this at Brian May's Web site: Talking to USA Today, Queen's Brian May tells the paper that "A new Queen album is also on the table, after uncovering some of the band's old forgotten tapes (which include collaborations between Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury, the band's lead singer who died in 1991). "The music is there and it's great, and I think peo

Thanks Tommy (and Jack)! I don't have these albums but had heard Fergie was involved and just didn't know to what extent. Great idea to bundle them as a box set ... I'll be buying this one soon!

I got the email saying the 3-CD box set of the Radioactive CDs is now available. My question is: I know that Fergie F. sang on some of those albums. Did he do all of the vocal work or did he "guest" on a few tracks? It's not clear to me how many of the songs he actually did lead vocals on and who sings all of the rest. Can anyone clarify that?

Good point. If you don't want the guy who works next to your cubicle at the office to be there, you should be offered the choice to kill him instead of having to be around him, as long as he can be killed off in a humane and clinical way.

Totally agree ... killer song that sounds a bit like Styx in the middle ... I'm not a huge fan of the band (probably because I just haven't heard that much of them in the past), but this song definitely blows me away. I have no idea what people are talking about in terms of the drums sounding bad - sounds great to me.
