Some of Lionville's stuff reminds me of Toto, especially some of "A World of Fools"

I liked his "How Country Feels" record with the title track and "Runnin Out of Moonlight". But I found his last record ("Fired Up") a bit disappointing.

I agree... this record was an embarrassing mistake. Simplistic "daily affirmation" style lyrics, horrendously processed vocals, hookless attempts at pop songs that bore- or simply take up space- rather than energize. 16 songs that wouldn't have qualified as "Up" album cuts. The quicker she can bury it and move on (back to her country roots), the better. "No One Needs to K

I was at my local Sunrise Records in Canada, and I looked under "J" in metal and saw a header card for "Joker". Thinking it must have been a mistake, I flipped through the misfiled J titles and found Joker's "Cool Deal"! Had no idea it had been reissued!! What a great day!!

If you want the more AOR side of the band, start with the Capitol albums: The Completion Backwards Principle (1981) and Outside/Inside (1983).

Is it as cheap as the last Shooting Star CD packaging? That was pretty disappointing. Wafer thin and did little to protect the disc.

I'm listening to this and I'm enjoying the great vocal harmonies, choruses and keyboard work but something doesn't sound right with the production. I downloaded it with intention to buy but it sounds a bit muddy. Can anyone who owns the actual disc comment on the production?

Sure hope so. Every time I don't see it in the mail, I "kick the wall". But then I realize it's "going the distance" and may still be coming.

Paid June 12, still no "Going the Distance" CD. Any other Canadian buyers order from Andrew and still waiting? Or just me? I'm sure it's an international mail thing, but getting impatient for this baby!

Apparently, he released a Greatest Hits Cd that he only sold live. Contained "Streets of Fire", "Someone You Can Count On" etc. from his 1980's heyday, but have never seen this anywhere.

Not doing it for me. Lyrically, it borderlines on the ridiculous at times.

A band like .38 Special would fall into that category. No one classic album but those singles though! Another contender would be Hall & Oates. Love the hits, but not necessarily the albums they came from in their entirety.
