Really surprised by the lack of mentions for the new Satin album on the board. A really top quality indie AOR / Melodic Rock album. KISS fans will need no introduction to Satin i'm sure. The RGM review. Satin

I know we've a few country fans on the board. Randy Houser was incredible last night at Bush Hall. Any fans? Lots of great shows in London this week during Country Music Week from the likes of Kip Moore and Drake White.

Great band. They opened for 3 Doors Down in London back in 2006. Great to see them still putting stuff out. Especially of this quality.

The RGM team were lucky enough to get along to Bush Hall in London on Monday night for the first night of the Sierra Hull UK tour. WOW Sierra Hull is considered a bluegrass artist but her set included Wayne Shorter, Bach and Prince tunes alongside her own material. The quality of playing from Sierra and bassist Ethan Jodziewicz was just stunning. The single 'Black River' https://www.y

XYZ were amazing but that was the shortest show I've ever seen from a headline act. I seem to remember the bassist had a broken foot or something like that. A cast maybe? My memory might be playing tricks on me.

Director James Mangold has done some good stuff in the past including the '3.10 To Yuma' remake, 'Walk The Line' and 'Cop Land' the Stallone film. I'd pretty much given up on the X-Men but this was really good and very violent.

Rush - Roll The Bones tour. Large top hats either side of the stage which had inflatable rabbits inside. Very funny, from my vantage point, watching the roadies try to get them to deflate by jumping into the hats. Red Guitar Music

Not strictly AOR / Melodic Rock but i've seen mention of both Stone Broken and The Amorettes in recent times on the board. New 1 day festival promoted by Cambridge Live. A revolving 3 stage set-up. Date is Sept 23rd in Cambridge only £15 which seems like a bargain. It might be worth the trip for some or a good day out if you're local. RGM Feature: Subterranean Fest

Have to agree with Robert I've not played it in years but the production always bugged me.I'd always reach for the Signal album first.

I've not heard the album as yet but at 33 mins it should sound amazing on vinyl which would seem to fit in with the audiophile idea. None of that grooves too close together issue. I wonder if Joe had that in the back of his mind?

I don't think of myself as a huge Kansas fan but the album is terrific.I really don't think any fan of the band will be disappointed it really is very impressive. Fav track at the moment 'Rhythm In The Spirit' is just immense.

This brings back a few memories. Axe Attack was the one for me.I was still at school and heard 'Sweet Emotion' and I was sold. The problem then was that Aerosmith were dead in the water at this time and all the albums seemed to be out of print. so I spent the next few months hitting all the local record fairs to track down the back catalogue. Needless to say I got there in the end. Those we

The RAH website has them playing a 2+ hour set with the RPO so i'd be surprised if they only did 15 tracks. Also FM fans should get there early as they are supposed to be on at 7.30.

Outcast is coming to Fox in the UK and you can catch the pilot episode on demand with Sky at the moment. Watched it last night. Thought it was very good start to the series and nice to see Patrick Fugit (Almost Famous) alongside Philip Glenister. Will have to check out Joe Hill.

A fave from back in the day (1985) has to be Thunder Alley. The band in the film play songs that turned up on Eric Martin and Shooting Star albums if my memory is correct. Looks like Steve beat me to the post button. Great minds and all that.

When the CD sales started to decline record companies invented the deluxe / reissue / re-release with bonus tracks etc.Now that full album downloads are in decline (CD sales held up better in 2015) due to streaming services like Spotify and subscriptions with Amazon Prime etc they are trying the same approach to keep this business model alive.

Great call on the Tall Stories I thought that sounded like a breath of fresh air at the time and still do today. I've found that if you play something from way back, especially if it's a little on the pomp side, your newbie will think you are insane.IMHO
