I (sadly) have to agree with that as well. I am missing the rock and the funk in these tracks, but I hope it will grow on me. I am wondering if this is the real reason why Blake left the band? When I spoke to Blake last year he seemed very into the new DRN-album and a couple of weeks/months later he was out of the band. And am I the only one who does not understand what the violent cover h

Great, make sure you get the 2cd version with the track Ocean Cloud. In my eyes the best track of the album.

I agree that for me the Fish-years are superior too, and that I like Season's End and Holidays in Eden. Didn't care too much for them after these two albums (although I liked Afraid of Sunlight), but my favorite post-Fish album is Marbles (especially the 2cd/fanclub-version).

Van Halen - I Being a KISS-fan I had to listen to the 1st Van Halen album. Gene Simmons was in the 'Thank you'-list because he had produced their Zero-demo. I did not like it all and could not get into it. I left it for a couple of years, and now it's my favorite album.

Van Halen is like KISS 10 years ago or so: rather sell 5.000-6.000 tickets in the US instead of 15.000-20.000 tickets in Europe.

Another great funk-rock album with lots of blues and some rap (yes, you have to hear it to believe it) is Chris Thomas - 21st Century Blues...from Da' Hood. Nowadays he calls himself Chris Thomas King

Stevie Salas Colorcode, Mind Funk and F.F.F. (French Funk Federation) come to mind. 24/7 Spyz and Fishbone are great too, but more in the Living Colour vein. The best band in this niche you have already mentioned: the Dan Reed Network

Adrian = 60 years old Jan (singer) = 39 years old Drummer (Mart) and bassist (Sem) are in their early 20's. I went to see them live last Friday (cd-presentation) and they were firing on all cilinders. Apart from most of the MoonKings's album, they also played: Pushing me (Manic Eden), Judgement Day, Here I go again (Whitesnake), Burning Heart (Vandenberg) and a couple of covers (Superstitiou

Dream Theater in Amsterdam tonight. Very happy that they will play lots of Awake (my favorite DT album). For me, the 'big let down' will be the encores, after all these years (and 15 DT gigs) I still can't get my head around SFAM.A bit like Marillion's Brave, another one I can't get into, even after numereous tries. But I am sure I will enjoy myself, even during the encores.
