hI ALL. in summer 2011 ( 3 short years and 2 months ago) I witnessed JOURNEY with Foreigner & Opening act Night Ranger at the horrid sounding/looking World Music Theatre/whatever bank name it has today outdoor shed in Tinley Park IL Foreigner has really disappointed me with their lack of new material & the 1 new album they released 4 years ago ( 2 discs) had some good songs on there

There are more than capable singers out there i know of, that would do it justice. However, I do think based on what I've heard him sing the past 14 years ( including demo's live in studio etc) That Chicagoland's Very own Singer/Songwriter Joe Knez-Vana of MECCA I II & III Fame, IF healthy enough would absolutely kill much of the Jimi songs & do the really high backing & harmony v

Nope, Not for me. Not even close. Most pop thing they did. a Couple stellar songs, a couple more good songs and pop fluff to round it out for me. High quality fluff but I MUCH prefer 'When Seconds Count' 1986 with granted more synths but alot more guitar work & i think better songs. To each their own. Pro's and con's to anything really. For the record my 2 fav's are 1981's Premonition

agree. awful thing. my previous thread posts were to ask about what the fans wanted them to do and what they thought they'd do. Totally understandable to not do any shows now. I do hope, ( Maybe selfishly) they do continue doing live shows and touring n finally releasing some new music and/or the 1990's Fire Makes Steel sessions or some of them with new songs in the near future. Don't forg

On the thought of Peterik, Sullivan & Dave for a new album or tour: The Eagles,in my opinion was a easier sell for a reunion than those 2 guys back in ANY band. Framkie's NOT a bad dude, nor does he hate his fans, quite the opposite. He just likes to keep his and his other "Family business inside the band/family. This is why I doubt all the people that blame him, and call the the

Chalfont? I don't think personally the'd be interested in Kevin. Interesting guy, was and still is a talented singer & live performer. But, he's burned many a bridge. Not-to-mention Kevin's friends and works with Jim P. & if you haven't noticed Survivor & Jim don't get on so I doubt that union. However, interesting it might be. Martay

sorry mate i knew the albums wrote wrong # its early. ;) M p.s. you'll get varying degrees of opinions on Dave " The Man" Bickler fronting Survivor but, for my 2 cents and a few friends at the time way back in 93 thru 2000 Dave did mostly a Good - Great job as Lead singer. The 'Fire Makes Steel sessions' as they have been dubbed, were mostly great uptempo pop & Rock n R

Paul Logue absolutely no disrespect to the loss of life of Jimi or the band, and most important, his family and friends. I was merely trying to gauge, with several dates booked and paychecks on the hook what Survivor fans, music observers thought Frankie & The guys WOULD do and What THEY wanted him to do. Nothing more, nothing less. Everyone take care of your health, this body is th

Dave Bickler was fired in late 1983 or early 1984 due to needing more time to recover from Vocal Surgery. The band chose to replace him to record their 4th album 1984's Vital Signs. Dave, had recorded lead vocals on some of the demo's Jim & Frankie had done. Several vocalists audtioned Including, Kevin Chalfont a later noted singer with Gregg Rollie Steven Smith & Ross Valory (Then of

Just wondering after the loss of life of one Jimmy Wayne Jamison or "Jamo" "Jimi" as many called him, What Band Co-Founder/songwriter Frankie Sullivan will do now that he's lost one of his singers? It's obviously not as important as Jamison losing his life, but, i think it begs the question as too contemplate the bands next move. What do you, the fans of the band, music

93 & 94 WAS THE WORLD TOUR. He was clearly ill or in serious bad voice in July 1993 in Chicago, when the band was in. Next year he kept his voice but was rapping the lyrics and not singing everything. It wasn't very good. I guess his voice got stronger in late 1994 as thats when 'Mr. Moonlight' was recorded. It was a solid record that grew on me bigtime. It was a lighter affair save for 2

I'd also add that being on Sancturary Records hurt them. That label didnt last too long either. It wouldve helped Journey their Arrival REd 13 & Generations sales and exposure to Jump on the "Rockstar" movie vibe as that movie could've been about Steve Augeri as much as Ripper Owen's of Judas Priest. Also having the youtube/Internet exposure and story of how Arnel and his ba

CHICAGO: 'NOW' MP3'S are okay. the songs some of them are really outstanding and the performances mostly are spot on, even if studio musicians out-side the band worked on it. I'm looking forward to getting my cd copies played thru my stereo.. Chicago the band do use backing tapes for certain songs and have for decades. Lead vocals are all live, always have been with Chicago. Guitarist Keith doesnt have a high tenor voice. when he tries to sing that way it's NOT a good thing and you'll be able to spot it easily. Jason ScheffLead Tenor Singer/Bassist sings the song leads and also the backing vocals in both Studio Versions. His sol

Production & Promotion for me is what did Generations In. Awful promotion, almost ZERO label support. Sonics wise the mix was thick. Big sounding Guitars, bass & Drums which, was the downfall of ARRIVAL I felt. ( still love that album though, most of it!). SO I agree the Mix was off and it turned off long-time fans of the THIN, Clean crisp sheen of previous Journey efforts. The Mix
