Yep,i'd do similar, but go as far as reading song titles too. Used to rely way too much on Derek Oliver too, back in the days when Kerrang was a good mag. Not sure why his opinion counted though as my fave band used to be Bon Jovi and he hated them. Know what you mean about the lesser known bands releasing better stuff than the well known. One of my favourite all time albums is by a bloke called

Wish I could get the chance to do that nowadays. All we have is HMV around here which is just a waste of time entering.

Does the image of a band ever affect your judgement before you've heard the music? Have you ever looked at a picture of a group and thought the totally wrong thing about the type of music they play? Do you see the image of a group(or age even) and think "they'll not make it no matter how good they sound"? For instance I remember reading an issue of Kerrang once and seeing a picture of

Just heard a song on PR and as usual when you want to know the artist they don't bother mentioning it. The song sounded a bit like Rainbow ie Hammond organ guitar etc but didn't sound like any of the Rainbow singers. The main lyrics I caught were "They Cant Take That Away!. It sounded similar to Rainbows Cant happen here in tempo. Any help?

Of all the albums to pick out for musical errors! To me the best BJ album and doesn't need changing at all.The pizza parlour jury was for SWW by the way,as were Edge of....and Borderline. Trying to sound like Springsteen(?) yet get rid of Bad Medicine (which doesn't) and bring in a song that sounds like its got a Springsteen title?

Anyone listening to TRR's AOR show at the moment? Just had a song on by a group that I'm sure were called Agenda according to Kylie. Sounded like a Pink song to me,so much so that I was googling nEW pINK SONG while it was playing. Tried Googling and Youtubing this group since with no luck at all,so has anyone heard of them and have any links if so? All help appreciated.

Cant see what it matters whats on the poster, two of the biggest draws are H.E.A.T. with their apocalyptic cover and Eclipse with skulls on their cover. AORs just a name for the gigs,as is HARD ROCK HELL so its hardly going to be all fluffy and nice.

Reading what a few people have said on jovitalk about his recent UK tour,it seems SAMBORA has definitely been partaking in either possible substance abuse, but definitely alcohol abuse. One guy who plays in a band himself and has been a great admirer of the guitarist for years said it was a sad sight to see sambora actually being helped up some steps by a couple of his entourage.

You never with Sambora,he always confirms Bon Jovi have made a "BIG ROCK RECORD" yet that always turns out to be a big fib. Has been mentioned elsewhere,if anyone would care to translate: http://rollingstone.es/noticias/es-richie-sambora-el-nuevo-guitarrista-de-whitesnake/

Andrew posted overnight on facebook and has since found other changes have to be made so everything will be confirmed tomorrow. He's having a rough time with it by the sound of it so maybe its worth letting him get it sorted properly first might be helpful.

You don't need Spinal Tap calling where MC are concerned. Remember the snow on the roof concert cancellations? No matter how much you jazz it up,its still a feckin drum solo in the end.

As I said the earlier stuff isn't so melodic, more emo if anything but there are some great songs. Moment of our love,Planet of the Sun,Giving it up etc. There's a great live dvd on youtube called Eye of the Hurricane and keep searching and there's some really good acoustic stuff too.Still Alive acoustic sends shivers down the spine,i,ll look in a bit when I'm on the laptop and post a few.

Just found an old MP3 player out and found an album on it that I ,d forgotten all about even though its a particular favourite of mine. Negative :Neon. Anyone else got it or heard it. Most of their other stuff isn't that great bar the odd song but to me this is just pure modern melodic rock at its best. A couple of songs to listen to: End of the Line http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvV5P-tct

Been watching bits of Glastonbury last couple of days,I know its each to their own but what a load of pretentious cack they have there. I suppose people don't mainly go for just the music but when I see some of the artists on display I thank fook for good old fashion rock music.
