I'm just hoping for a new SP album. I don't need the Journey Reunion Tour.

I've been a fan of their covers they've posted for the last year or so since I friend turned me onto them and was hoping they'd get around to doing their own material. Phenomenal players. I'm hoping to hear more original tunes from them soon and that they'll stretch out instead of more of the same tempo/feel stuff.

Sometimes a cover works, sometimes it doesn't. I kept waiting for the chorus to really open up and get away from emphasis on the staccato riffing but to no avail. Points for trying but it just isn't quite there for me. Still gonna check the EP out.

It's still far too legible to be a death/black metal band.

If QRO (Queensryche Official) had gone and done their own version of Tate-ryche's album and improved on the songs/arrangements/etc as the 2nd CD in the deluxe edition, that would become my first pre-order ever.

It's an excellent documentary of a very non-mainstream movement and should serve anthropologists well in the future decades. It's too bad we never get to know who the doctor is that is mentioned so I can be sure that I never darken any part of the street that turns into his/her parking lot where the office door is. AT one point, I thought I heard cows until some juggalos passed by with the &qu

Then as now, I view it strictly as a Axl Rose solo album and in that respect I still like it even though I rarely go out of my way to listen to it.

Kivel Records seems to have gotten into a bad habit of jumping on the promo wagon before it is time. It's a bit annoying but the content, once released, has been solid. No complaints about quality!

Guitar playing is usually described as searing, fiery, scorching, explosive... anything to do with fire. Bass and drums in particular are often called thunderous, thundering, booming, etc. Keyboards are usually lush. This also goes for press releases from labels.

I bet if you played this for the kids who didn't grow up with it like we did, they'd like it just fine. Sure, it's not got the production feel of the original album but at least they're not doing it near as half ass as some re-recordings I've heard (Autograph... dear god). People tend to approach things different. Different time and place. The first thing I noticed was the chords in the pre-c

Agreed on most of that list. I'd leave "Because We Can" off the album. It reminds me what Van Halen did with "Tattoo": get the off-kilter song out of the way and get on with it. They wrote some really good songs, but I imagine them playing a large jazz club on this one, everyone in black suits like Michael Buble, even when they're doing the uptempo stuff. Still beats the cr

30 seconds. I'll give any song 30 seconds to get my attention in some manner. If it pulls it off, I give it another :45 to show me more. If the chorus doesn't work, I move on.

I'm waiting for the Anti-Gun Lobby to jump all over these incidents. They're quick to ban but there appears to be absolutely no investigation into the motive. Why would these people do this? What are their triggers? Environmental, mental, etc... There's no explanations that could help in somehow preventing this crap. Nothing I've seen, at least.

I've listened to it a few times and the only thing that bugs me is that it doesn't SOUND like a rock album. The mix is a very "guitars down" affair. I like the songs a lot and I can appreciate what they're going for, but I expected to hear a good guitar-based rock n roll album a la AC/DC and KISS and that's not what they went for. Maybe next time.

I'll be amazed if there's a radio station anywhere in top 100 market America that's at least a 50K stick and not ruled by the whims of "The Consultant" and his "Laptop of Doom".

The idea that Neal's personal life should affect ticket sales is ridiculous. All the philandering and sexual shenanigans of the clergy (pick your denomination) hasn't stopped people from attending church. Why should this be different?

I agree that he's an odd choice given his usual choice of roles, but this isn't going to be Freddie's tale through Sasha's comedic prism (please God don't let it be!). Given his performance as Pirelli in "Sweeney Todd" that required a pre-written character performance as opposed to his improvisational work, I'm interested to see what happens. I was pleasantly surprised at Jim Carrey's s

Love them. Bastards is my least favourite of their albums. The Lizard is probably the "Here, learn about these guys with this one" album. A lot of people I know didn't get into Water or Devil in the Details but those are honestly my faves. Growers to be sure, but given the time, I listen to them start to finish.

Mike pretty much laid in the coffin and buried it himself where EC and him are concerned. You cannot be as unhinged as he was and get along with people. Restraint is an important technique and he just didn't seem to exercise it when he should've. Shame about Marco. Whatever the reason, I hope they're serious about no real bad blood. Ripper Owens would be an interesting choice :)

Personally, I've always 'just' liked Only the Young and never cared for Ask the Lonely. They didn't blow my doors off when I first heard them and have less impact now. I can appreciate side two for the experimental value and doing something out of their percieved comfort zone. I like Frontiers from start to finish, even if the second half isn't at the same level of "stick in your head melody

Saw them play this at Melodic Rockfest 2 in Chicago. This is far superior than that performance and with the new guitarist. I miss Devil Jim (the old guitarist) and his onstage attitude but the new guy's got a more schooled, melodic style than Jim. I'll give the singer points for trying but it's hard to match or even top JSS in my book. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6AkutMqkuo

Seems lots of people are complaining about the mix. It's not the best mix and I'd like to hear a much cleaner version, but the playing and songwriting, to me, is really good. If you want sweet and simple Journey-esque material, this is totally the wrong CD for you.

I really liked this album from day one particularly for the fact that it wasn't the typical accepted sort of songwriting. No Verse-chorus-verse-chorus-solo-chorus-outro and the chord progressions versus vocal melodies are, to me at least, very different from the norm even now. It's like a melodic rock record for goths and people who enjoy their nightmares. I don't play it all that much anymore

NOISE LIMITERS New noise legislation is about to be introduced that is likely to virtually destroy live music in the UK. The government wish to consider it a legal requirement in the new tax year to introduce laws insisting anyone applying or re-applying for an entertainment licence must have a noise control device fitted to the venue. This will be the final nail in the coffin for pretty much
