FYI... QuoteLOS ANGELES (October, 18) — STARFIRE is having a huge party and everyone's invited. The STARFIRE CD release party happens November 22nd, 2013 in Tarzana, California. Nothing wrong with the sound of this album. It has to be the MP3s. The physical CD sounds amazing. I posted a full-length review of the record, too. This is a must-buy. For Sure. http://forums.melodicrock.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=57564

I must agree. The third was so sub-par for me, I ended up selling it to my local CD store. I like and have kept the first two though. The first one was, absolutely without a doubt, the best.

I don't care what anyone says... Whatever Bob Rock touches becomes EXCELLENT. Power *but* clarity with no mud in the mix... Blue Murder, Metallica, Electric Boys... Their *best* sounding stuff was because of his work on the console. "...and justice for all" was unfortunately mixed (no bass), but, luckily, the songs are so well performed and composed I'm not sure the people who turn

Billy is a classy guy. He would never post something like, "this music is just too awful for me to want to get a name credit on the release. I've changed my mind." You gotta remember, this biz is filled w/fragile egos and you never wanna burn biz bridges calling out someone who's still a name in the industry, even if the fans think he's turned into a huge clown.

Heh. Well, Brian May saved it for me--otherwise it would have been a total waste of my time.

I couldn't make it to the June 2nd show but when they added the 9th, my wife decided to buy me tickets for my birthday. :-) They sounded good but I was cognizant of backing tracks. The "drum solo" by Alex Van Halen was pretty surreal--more backing audio and video tricks than him doing his thing, but they're in their late 50s so it's kind of a remarkable he's beating out songs like

Bought it the day it came out. Arrived over the weekend and played the whole thing. A MONSTER of a record. Really, really enjoyed it. My favorite track is #6, "I Am." Due out digitally in the United States on my birthday tomorrow! :-)

It was well deserved. The Chris Ousey CD is Blowing My MIND right now; been playing it non-stop in my car and at home. Together with Mike Slamer, I think I've heard one of the greatest albums I've ever owned with this record.

I am. If you are, I'd love to follow you, swap playlists and get exposed to more Melodic Rock. Nice thing about Spotify is that the artists get paid when you stream their music (something Youtube doesn't have completely figured out yet), and, no, you DO NOT have to let Spotify publish your listens to your Facebook Timeline (it's super easy to turn that off). The Spotify player is free, too, so

Are there any Atlantic rock acts anymore? I thought they've dropped them all by now. One bad part is this probably means the end of RR's "sign me to" program. I didn't really care for 99% of the bands on their roster (besides DT and RATT) but it was nice that there was a label out there willing to actually invite bands with their shtick to try out. Good luck soliciting that demo w

Thanks to American Idol, we have now highly unrealistic expectations of musicians. This is how we've come to the era of faked perfect pitch and laptops on stage playing backing tracks from Pro-Tools. Sheehan, Gilbert and Torpey didn't use synthetically pitch-corrected backing tracks but really sung those parts. Flawless is for the studio; you buy the CD/tape/record if you want to hear that. L

Isn't there a rule now? No brick walls, chain linked fences or railroad tracks? That said, I don't mind the Lita Ford album cover. Looks quite good to me.

I was impressed. Video looks like it got money, the song is definitely not bad either. What can I say? The Swedes make the best music in the world right now.

Is H.E.A.T. on Reverbnation or Spotify? I'd like to listen to more of their newer work to judge for myself. The stuff they have on their Myspace profile does not impress me one bit.

Not computer literate? He needs to get a Mac. ;-) Or better yet, set him up with Spotify on his phone. I'm sure a lot of the releases mentioned here can be found on there, he can listen to it and best of all, the artists get PAID for the streaming audio unlike from the mix CD (unless you were planning on buying downloads from AmazonMP3 or something).

I agree with you. This is a record I had to work very hard to get because it was actually sold out everywhere! And I found out why... More than half of the album had outstanding songs, especially "To Die For" which really, really, really should have been on the radio here in the United States...constantly. However, Paper Tiger continuous to be my #1 favorite track on the CD. I ho

That's pretty scary. I hate his music (the only song he ever recorded that I actually liked was "Body Talk" off of the seldom discussed Little Miss Dangerous release--which actually got some airplay on NBC's Miami Vice when it was new) but I loosely agree with his politics. That said, however, you do have to be smart about how to talk about this stuff. For one thing, American Republi
