Me and a couple of the other Burn guys went to the O2 on Tuesday and really enjoyed it. Apart from the self-indulgent moments they were spot on Really a band that didn't quite click back in the day with the greater audience but a great band all the same. Be interesting to see if the promised new album materialises.

Just listened to the free disc that comes with the mag. Really, if this is the best we have some big problems in this industry. Poor songs and awful 'organic' productions across the board. Do Classic Rock actually like this stuff? I assume they put songs on the disc by whoever will pay to have them on there, but it hardly reflects well. What is all the hype over Rival Sons - I must be missin

Not sure if anyone here cares at all but the new Killers album includes one of the best genuine power ballads I've heard for a while. Take a listen to to Here With Me and tell me AOR is not alive and well in the heart of these indie boys. The album is a grower too with the first 4 tracks being up there with the best Killers songs. Overall it is a real step into the mainstream with Springsteen's

I got into them back in the early 90's and Strength and ...Animals.. are still in my All Time Top 20 albums. Totally underrated at that point and probably missed their chance. New Thing is one of those great songs you can listen to forever, but totally agree with the comments regarding inconsistency of quality. You can find the odd great song amongst 10 ordinary ones. Since Derek Frigo and Vikk

I think that the new guy has taken the band to a new level and it is a simple truth that Michael Eden did not have the pipes that this guy has. It's a very confident sounding band now I reckon and logistically with everyone on the same continent they have a much better chance of progressing. As a career move it is a really smart change. IM

OK, I'm a bit behind on this one. Thanks Andrew for the free Best of MR download - great idea by the way. Really liked the Degreed tracks so bought the download on Amazon. Very impressed all round. A lot of MR/AOR these days leaves me yawning but these guys have really got the blend between old time melodic rock and 'Modern Rock' off pat. Clever song structures, plenty of hooks, bags of ener

Just wanted to say that DT were absolutely excellent on Friday. I'll never have a bad thing to say about Mike Portnoy but I have to say that Mike Mangini has been a tremendous addition to the band. I mean addition, as well, not replacement. His playing was a revelation and always with a smile on his face. His drum solo was actually enjoyable, and technically quite stunning. You could tell he was

Just chucking my two penneth in. I remember listening to the first Van Halen album when it came out with my jaw on the floor and thinking heavy rock would never be the same again. Things were never the same again. 35 years later or whatever I listened to the new album with an open mind hoping for the best but expecting the worst. It is somewhere in between. I agree the majority of the song
