So much for Classic Rocks 8/10 being the exception to the rule. Fireworks arrived today, and I quote "Better Than We Are is a surprisingly compelling, varied and exhilarating affair.......he sings with real pathos....mind boggling range of material....who'd have thought he would work with Steinman again to such stunning effect. This is a superb album, one chock full of high quality comp

Life in reverse is probably still my fave album but love all their stuff. Can't really go wrong with anything that has Jacob Bunton's name on it - Mars Electric, Adler also highly recommended.....

Remember No Sweat supporting Little Angels in Belfast - thought album was pretty good. Also liked Kiss Of The Gypsy! With you on RPLA (Red Patent Leather Angels? FFS)tho rocknut. They were horrible live (think it was Thunder I saw them supporting) and may well be the worst band I ever saw grace Kerrang!'s Front cover back in the good old days when it was worth a read....

Cheers for the heads up on some other good stuff here. I liked Default, but actually prefer Dallas Smith now he's 'gone country'. It was his stuff that got me diggin a bit more into the genre Wastin Gas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0fhhoBggGDU And just for Rams https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrgCwAM06Yg And going back a wee while, I guess some might call this country-influenc

I know there are a few around these here parts that like some melodic country rock - in case you weren't aware, Sky recently launched a country music channel of sorts. Keep It Country - channel 389. Some crap on there, but the odd gems too (American country chart countdown is a favourite chez 2littleangels). Some good artists (if a bit poppy in some cases) you may or may not be aware of -

Not sad to see LVG go, but pretty poor way to treat anyone. Don't think he was a fit for the club - just one of those times when a perfectly good manager doesn't gel. Unfortunately, not convinced Jose is a fit either. Would have loved Guardiola at OT..........

Big fan. Locke and Key one of my favourite graphic novels - seems to be back on for being made into a tv series. Just about to start NOS4A2. Also love King - tho mostly his earlier stuff. The Stand is probably my favourite book ever. Also enjoyed Cell - film looks a bit ropey tho. Dark Tower also looks like a go for a movie now that actors have been firmed up. For us UK-ers, I'm pretty

So Classic Rock reckoned in their rather splendid review this month. Not so sure about that comparison, but I do like this title track from their new album... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nOCbtaNoIbE

Really like that. Mind you, I'm a huge Goo Goo Dolls (and 40ft Ringo for that matter) fan, so no shocker that I dig this. Thanks for link.

As someone who works with young people every day, including those struggling with their sexuality and fighting for LGBT rights , I find some of the comments on here really depressing. John Oliver says it better than I can. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5d667Bb_iYA I am a father to two 7 year olds. Paedophiles dressing up as Mrs Doubtfire and attacking them in a McDonald's toilet is not so

100%ers for me would be Appetite for Destruction, Slippery When Wet, Fugazi and Misplaced Childhood, Hysteria, Don't Pray For Me - off the top of my head, and I'm quite sure some of those would be struggling to get 70% in some people's books. Funnily enough, my favourite 'side' of music would be side A of Backstreet Symphony, but it's not even my favourite Thunder album, and I'd probably strug
