New issue popped through the door yesterday, with some relevant reviews, for those who are interested in these sort of things... Nelson Peace Out 7/10 The Darkness Last of our Kind 8/10 (allegedly their finest album since the debut....) Beauvoir-Free American Trash 9/10 (and a very good write up) House of Lords Indestructible 8/10 Dennis Churchill Dries I 8/10 ("an emotio

Thank you kindly one and all. Plenty there for me to investigate further...... :) I agree - The last Keith Urban album was a cracker. Cop Car is great, and was the first song I heard off it, but the whole album is excellent.

I'm relatively new to the genre, but skimming through some 'new country' radio stations through tunein radio, there's a heck of a lot of good stuff out there. Obviously I'm catching up quickly with the likes of Keith Urban, Big and Rich, etc. And I clearly can't get me enough Dallas Smith. But I also like these tracks, and wondered a) if these artists are worth following up on and b) if not, w

13 was out in December - Aerosmith on the cover. Not sure when 14 is due - won't have folded as it is a Classic Rock magazine offshoot. That's not to say CR won't decide one day its not worth continuing it - their Country magazine appears to have bitten the dust.

Don't know if its my age, but they were one of those bands that memory told me I used to love - but when I picked up their cds for my collection later in life they didn't quite live up to expectations. Strength is really the only one of theirs I would be inclined to listen to nowadays. Strange, cause I feel I should like them a lot. One of the guys who does the Decibel Geek podcast is a big

Don't get me wrong, I quite liked his former band, but I am a huge fan of his new country stuff. Love Brigade, Desire Walks On pretty good, but always felt Bad Animals was a bit meh for some reason. Would highly recommend the Two of a Kind album - really reminds me of this era of Heart, and, for me, is much more enjoyable than the Wilsons' last few.......

Boys in Heat is awesome, but also love Bite Down Hard (short and sweet). Dean left the band to go off by himself - mid tour and in a somewhat underhand way if memory serves - and it's not like they had an extensive back catalogue with him singing. Maybe he could do another Blackeyed Susan album....win win....
