Like it, although the pre chorus is very Leppard like.

I love loads of bass players but my favourite is Marco Mendoza. For anyone learning how to play, watch his fretting hand positioning and how easy it seems for him. He can also play a wide variety of styles and genres but is a great rock player.

Bastard. I loved this mag. If only because it gave new AOR bands a platform to their audience. I do agree though that the genre we love is about as popular as a street corner boozer. No money in it whatsoever. Thank your lucky stars some of these new bands have got rich Dads.

I thought the backing vocals were average but at least they gave it a go. The thing that interests me about the new album is Wolfs bass playing. For a guy of 21 he puts in a Sheehan style performance. If he wrote the bass lines too then I take my hat off to the lad.

Eddies acoustic guitar is very unforgiving. Nasty!

I think the lesson to be learned is not to release anything in the same week as Van Halen.

Too right. In fact if it was just made for laughs then it would be really shite. Oh, hang on........

A thunderbird is on my wish list too although I'm a bit knackered cos Gibson don't make a left handed version. Same with Epiphone. Tokai make one but who wants a Tokai? Oh, go on then....

You say that it's by far the weakest in the classic rock portfolio, but doesn't that depend on your musical taste? I mean, I would rather read Kerrang than classic rock presents Prog. In fact, I'd rather read Nuts.

Yeah, the column should be called guilty pleasures if he feels like that about it but to be fair it's written with a good sense of affection. It's pretty obvious the guy has a genuine love for the band but I agree that he tries a bit too hard to make it funny. That said, what a great album!

I got my copy today. I must say that this magazine is AOR porn for me. Great articles on Shy, Fiona and Y&T. The Motley Crüe feature was well written but told me nothing I didn't already know, great pics though. FIrefest review too. The AOR obsessions page is dedicated to Icons Night Of The Crime album, which for me is an all time classic. Love this mag.

Not my cup of tea but the guy has great voice. Stand up is pure nickleback. His version of 18 and life is great though and it's good to see a young rocker getting a chance. Good luck to him. Did he win?

Peavey were never a "top class" make. Fender, Gibson, Warwick class anyway. I accept Peavey is a known brand, but not for great bass guitars.I should have been clearer on that point.

for a great affordable "starter" bass, i'd recommend a Peavey millenium. I've just got a 5 string version and although I'm a little embarrassed to admit it (due to the fact that it's not really a known make) its sounds amazing. New here, so hello, er I'm Rob. Hope I can make a worthy contribution to the forum.
