It's a shame that most here are unrealistic and believe that things must always be pleasant, overpositive and even pandering. What is a discussion without people to rock the boat a little? Based on what Rocknut suggested, perhaps they are recorded there due to the fact they're reserved and therefore quieter. Probably more chance of hearing the band play and less effort to clear away the audience in the mix. Either that , or it's become such a cliche (in a positive way), to record in Japan, that bands like to continue the tradition
