Coverdale for me..Always preferred his more bluesy richness and tone....Gillan never really floated my boat......

I like Ousey, but for me his vocal is completely the wrong fit for a blues based band -I can't listen to the Snakecharmer album because his voice grates on the songs...yet I like him on other projects better suited to him....

Hughes is an enigma to me..... Sure..The guy can sing..BUT..His constant screaming sounds fucking terrible.....I recently got the Jon Lord tribute album and his excess screaming is a joke! He ruined Purple in a live environment and is doing the same again.....Someone needs to give him a right fucking slap. When he chooses to just SING he's great..but he always ends up ruining things with

Cheers Peteaor.. That's a shame he hasn't done any music since then...As you say..a wasted talent..Was lucky enough to see him a couple of times in the early Diamond Head days..They should have been huge

I believe the album is still in the final stages of mixing so doubt whether anything will be out there as yet. From what I understand from various musicians/people linked to the band the feedback is that its epic and far surpassses Forevermore ( which I thoroughly enjoyed) Proof will be in the pudding but really looking forward to this one. With regard to the songwriting, I'm guessing t

I know it's not really Melodic Rock but wonder if there are any fans of Colin Hay out there. He's a fantastic songwriter and love his voice, and also been lucky to catch him live a couple of times...terrific.

I just expected more this time around Terry..That was based on the hype, and the fact that some of my friends were telling me it was their best in years.....I was HUGELY disappointed when I heard it. I take your point Warrior21 about the lyrics..It's rock and roll, but again, for me, they're even worse than normal..Primary school stuff and don't help the songs. Live..they'll still be grea

Agree 100% with Addyeddy...Never missed a tour...Good or bad.....and will be there again.....Last time in Glasgow he & the band were in good form. Will miss Doug Aldrich's playing though..but JH seems a fine player and will be interesting to hear how he and RB mix

Interesting interview with DC on the Eddie Trunk show the other week. When asked about touring in 2015 he said " Yes..We'll be out on the road with some very dear friends". I'm guessing it could be with Leppard again given his great relationship with Joe Elliot? Now that would be a cracker. Hopefully play some older stuff that will suit his voice better too.

Found this album a TOTAL let down after all the hype. A couple of good songs..and very very average elsewhere. And the lyrics are appalling. Played it twice....Won't get spun again.

Hated it at the time.......Played it again last night after the post..and I'm afraid it does nothing for me..Hate the vocals..hate the guitar..and the songs are shit.

Been living with this for a week now...and while enjoying it.. (DC sounds great!)..would be interested on your thoughts. The big thing for me is the single guitar..For me Whitesnake have always sounded better with the twin guitar sound...and this sounds kind of 'bare' for me..... I'm missing the fuller sound 2 guitarists bring. And I'm going to be controversial here...but I genuinely believ

Been living with the new Robert Plant album for the last week or so...dear oh dear.....Truly terrible!..... I know his music can be eclectic at times, but this is really poor. How it has been hyped as one of his best is truly beyond me, (And I'm a Plant fan) Songs imho are really poor and I don't like the production or vocal mix at all Wonder what others feel or is just me?......

Just had a good listen to the Wildlife album from the 80's and surprised how well it's stood the test of time! What I'd forgotten most (given its many years since I've heard the album) was how much like Paul Rodgers, a young Steve Overland sounds like on this one..The song Charity for example could be taken off any Bad Company album (I'm guessing Simon Kirkes involvment had a lot to do with th

Having seen Belgium in the Qualifiers ( I'm a Scotland fan) was really looking forward to seeing them at the World Cup Dont think they played that well last night ..but showed great determination and grit to grind out a result. Hopefully now the first games out the way we'll see the great football/class we know they've got as I fancy them as the Dark Horses of the tournament!

It sounds like what's known in the trade as the "Janeen" situation...as referred to in Spinal Tap.......One of the bands Birds gets involved in "Band" decisions/politics etc..and it ends in tears. From what Ive read though it seems a stupid fuckin move to fire the management at the start or during a tour and then employ her on the tourist visa.....If he was offered a soluti

Just wondering what peoples opinions are of the top vocalists theyve ever seen live and/or heard on recordings My top 10 (number1 being top)...are: 1) Danny Bowes- ALWAYS delivers live..incredible singer and still as good now as back in the 90'S 2) David Coverdale- in his heydey one of THE greatest singers 3) Steve Perry- Incredible singer--Needs to come back 4) Steve Lee -Amazing

It's also gaining momentum in the UK I would suggest..certainly amongst musicians like myself (all my friends are buzzing about it) and on social network sites. It wont make a main news network here in the UK as those fuckwits wont have a clue who Steve Perry is..but momentum IS growing... Anyone who sings (myself included) will tell you that it takes time at rehearsals..and then a few gigs
