Just had a good listen to the Wildlife album from the 80's and surprised how well it's stood the test of time! What I'd forgotten most (given its many years since I've heard the album) was how much like Paul Rodgers, a young Steve Overland sounds like on this one..The song Charity for example could be taken off any Bad Company album (I'm guessing Simon Kirkes involvment had a lot to do with th

Having seen Belgium in the Qualifiers ( I'm a Scotland fan) was really looking forward to seeing them at the World Cup Dont think they played that well last night ..but showed great determination and grit to grind out a result. Hopefully now the first games out the way we'll see the great football/class we know they've got as I fancy them as the Dark Horses of the tournament!

It sounds like what's known in the trade as the "Janeen" situation...as referred to in Spinal Tap.......One of the bands Birds gets involved in "Band" decisions/politics etc..and it ends in tears. From what Ive read though it seems a stupid fuckin move to fire the management at the start or during a tour and then employ her on the tourist visa.....If he was offered a soluti

Just wondering what peoples opinions are of the top vocalists theyve ever seen live and/or heard on recordings My top 10 (number1 being top)...are: 1) Danny Bowes- ALWAYS delivers live..incredible singer and still as good now as back in the 90'S 2) David Coverdale- in his heydey one of THE greatest singers 3) Steve Perry- Incredible singer--Needs to come back 4) Steve Lee -Amazing

It's also gaining momentum in the UK I would suggest..certainly amongst musicians like myself (all my friends are buzzing about it) and on social network sites. It wont make a main news network here in the UK as those fuckwits wont have a clue who Steve Perry is..but momentum IS growing... Anyone who sings (myself included) will tell you that it takes time at rehearsals..and then a few gigs

Very interesting read on the front page from Billy Squier....and can't say I'm surprised at the dickheads who ran the record company screwing him over....Yeah the music Industry has always had people like these but around that period..and onwards they tended to employ people with no real passion for the end product..Purely on the statistics/profit. With grunge hitting..the rock music we loved

Fantastic to hear him back again...and that beautuful tone in his voice like no other Yes..the range isn't quite the same as it was..but neither are Coverdale, Rodgers..Plant...or any of the greats..but they can (or should) adapt accordingly What it proves to me is he still has the chops to perform at an extremely high level... I'd love him to come back with an album incorporating a mix

Artists put themeselves in the public limelight every time they go on stage. Its the modern world people..they need to deal with it . I do agree though....and Ive said this constantly..Unless its a "professional" recording MOST You Tube footage taken by phones etc sounds shit and is NOT a true reflection of a gig Good luck though dealing with people who DO post videos on You Tu

Gotthard -Bad to the Bone..Steve Lee's scream at the start is tremendous. Though on a slightly different variation..For screams at the END of songs..Coverdale on Sailing Ships..puts a fucking chill down my spine on that last note every time I hear it !

My Understanding is he made rascist remarks (whilst drunk) towards some other passengers.. Have also heard today (unconfirmed) that he has been fired by the band. If he WAS guilty of rascist remarks then he's a fucking twat. At the very least he's shown a great disrespect towards the laws of the country he was in, which, whether we agree with them or not is neither here nor there. Eit

Always sounded great live to me. I never take You Tube footage that seriously in terms of sound because the audio is mostly shite. Been to gigs that have been brilliant sound wise and then saw You Tube footage next day and thought..WTF?!!

From the classicrockrevisted website: Ace Frehley To Perform at Rock Hall Induction www.hennemusic.com While Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS have refused to perform at their induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame tonight (April 10), guitarist Ace Frehley has confirmed that he will play the AC/DC classic "Highway To Hell" as part of the event's signature All-Star

Met the Thunder boys after a Glasgow gig...all nice fellas..particularly Ben Matthews Ricky Medlocke is a gentleman too Also Remember meeting Billy Squier in Edinburgh (1981 I think) while he was supporting Whitesnake.....lovely guy..very pleasant but struggled with the Scottish Brogue!..One funny thing from that meeting...I was a young..what we called "nuggets" ..ie naive young

The thing that really irritated me about that release was the title.."Promise Land".....They obviously meant to call it "Promised Land" but somewhere along the way someone fucked up big time..and then the pretence started that no..."Promise" land WAS what it was meant to be called. And hence a stupid album title was born. The album itself....pleasant enough bu

Be interesting to see the size of venue for this type of tour Terry? I think the long term appeal/support of DC in the UK would ensure a really good turnout..maybe the likes of the O2 bigger venues?... Either way let's hope it happens as I know he's touted the idea seriously for a couple of years now

I like the new version of Sailing Ships..and to me..his voice sounds fine..still pretty rich in tone and a nice version of the song. Yeah..he doesn't sound like he did 20 years ago..but still outclasses the majority of singers out there (give or take a few exeptions). Think an un-plugged tour..maybe with Doug Aldrich & Bernie Marsden would be a great idea....

Just a superb band.....Have seen them over a dozen times and Danny Bowes remains THE premier vocalist...ALWAYS hits the notes..and still as good a singer now in his middle aged years. They should have been HUGE...signed by John Kalodner in the States on the recommendation of Coverdale..and then Grunge hit as they were hitting the first stages of an American release/tour..Killed most establish

Does anyone have any idea what the individual total sales to date are for each of the Whitesnake albums..right from 'Trouble' through to the last one 'Forevermore', and also include DC's solo albums. All I can seem to find info on is the 1987 album which states appx 10 million ( appx), but would be very interested to see how the others have done (I realise Forevermore may be difficult as they

Exactly Andrew...Could have been so much better. & Rattman....I know Moody/Marsden were really close at one point..and though nothings been mentioned in the press..I kinda feel that they maybe don't see much of each other these days (maybe I'm completely off base about that..) I thought the bridges comment related more to Bernie & him directly as it pertained directly to the Moody/M

One interesting comment from Bernie in the latest Classic Rock magazine..when asked whether there was a chance of the Moody/Marsden BAND Re-uniting his answer was "That bridge has been ripped down..There's more chance of me & David doing something" Sounds as if there's maybe been a "distancing" between the two recently which is a shame Having said that I know DC

For me..the production was terrible....Hated the guitar sound..and the songs deserved better..I've always been of the opinion that if had been mixed with the depth of the 1987 album it would have sounded WAY better. As has been commented..it remains the one WS album I just can't listen to..and I'm a huge fan If Vandenberg had been healthy enough to have played on the album I think it may have c

Forevermore's a splendid album. Think DC has said him & Doug will DEFO write another album..but likely to take the best part of a year. He's also said that he's very intersted in doing something in an accoustic setting..and that would be a brilliant idea as stripped down..his voice remains one of the richest and finest there is (even if he struggles with the higher stuff live..but hey tho

Thought Whitesnake were brilliant last year..and DC sung great! Only band Ive ever walked out of was Motley Crue in Glasgow (with Killing Joke supporting)..The worst sound Ive EVER heard at a gig..So fucking loud (and not in a good way) I thought my ears were gonna bleed!!
