All the time. But no one else has a clue what AOR means, so I don't think it means as much to them... Niv

No it's not. If people are offended by it, then they probably deserve to be! You try and police what other people discuss is bound to provoke reaction. If Can Man was trying to take the piss (as we all know he frequently does!), then it doesn't matter as it caused a discussion, and about quite a good young band. If that get's other, more open-minded folk to listen to their stuff, cool. I sha

I'm serious. Just because I like some melodic rock doesn't mean I can't listen to or appreciate anything else. I really cannot stand alot of his lyrics, and seeing as alot of young pop bands have some brilliant writers behind their stuff, of course i'm going to find it better than some cheesey 80's knock-off stuff about chasing dreams and burning heartbeats and hot summers on the boulevards of

No it doesn't. They just aren't prominent. Song's don't need solo's to make them good songs. Just look at Yngwie Malmsteen! It's all solo's and he hasn't had a good song out in over 25 years! There's plenty of great singers out there, they just aren't singing old rock music. Of course there's plenty of poor singers out there, but then if you listen to alot of AOR you'll notice there's plent

I appreciate his talent, in a Coldplay kind of way. I can see he's talented. He can write, play and sing. But everything I hear from him is just depressing and whiney and I can't listen to it. The very definition of "Coldplay Syndrome". Niv

Just added this and T&N to my amazon basket. Been meaning to get this since I heard that first clip. Wasn't too bothered with T&N, but seeing as both have been out in USA a while, I can get both for under a tenner... bargain hunting these days! Niv

Yeah, they are great. Been following them a little while. They did loads of covers on youtube under their old band name (which I forget right now). I love Jake Roche's voice (son of Colleen Nolan & Shane Richie), but the whole band are very talented kids. A bit like The Vamps in that they can write and play their own stuff, but a slightly more R&B infused sound, possibly aiming for an

Has anyone picked this up yet? I'm intrigued by whether there's much in the way of vocals on the album. From all the samples i've heard it sounds like a laid-back jazz affair. A classy album i'm sure, but I don't know if I want to fork out on what essentially sounds like well made elevator muzak :-/ I've read that Nathan sings and Michael McDonald too, but i'm not hearing it... Be interestin

I like H.E.A.T and think they are better for having Erik as their singer. But Britney comparison or not, this is shit. Weird, maybe they just struggle with 2nd albums, because the other songs i've heard off this one sound like total dreck too. H.E.A.T's debut I absolutely loved. Then the 2nd album was dreadful. Then their first with Erik was excellent. And now it looks like their second wit

I'm still hoping they get David Hungate and Shannon Forrest to stay permanently. I have a feeling that line-up will feel like the Toto of old... Niv

I know, guy is top class. Personally, i'd rather see Toto hire Hungate and Forrest as their new permanent rhythm section for the album and future tours. They obviously fit well together, David IS Toto's original bassist and as you say, together this version of the band will be something special. Don't just have them for a few dates. Let Carlcok go about what he's busy doing already and Nathan

Yeah, i'm looking forward to his solo album. It seems to be the year for it, with Benmont Tench and Will Lee also stepping out of the shadows to release solo albums. It's disappointing, to me, to see them have a variety of musicians filling in the gaps, because they are still an active band, and i'd rather see bands I like fill those spots with new members than rely on hired hands. Fair enough

Bobby has good and bad nights, Admittedly more bad than good, but I wouldn't say "it's over". His time in Toto is because they all hate each other, but I still look forward to what Bobby will deliver in the studio, and if he was ever near here, i'd risk seeing him live (hell i've walked out on Coverdale and Meat Loaf, who are both dire, so Bobby stands a fairly good chance!) Joe, you

Yeah I think he AND Steve both flung way too much shit last time they all fell out. None of their voices are what they once were, hence the reliance on all the backing vocalists and additional musicians since about 1990, but it's still a shame. The use of multiple bassists is disheartening to me. Toto despite the many different members over the years, were always still a band, so not having an

Oh I know that. Although from the DVD clips, they have the female backing singer sing all the powerful high notes, so I don't think Joseph is still quite at the top of his game either. But a mix of Bobby and Joe would be quite nice. Neither of them are ever going to be what they once were, but it'd be nice to see the animosity put to one side. Niv

I'd love to have seen Nico Porcaro on drums, Sam Porcaro on bass and Trev Lukather in the Tony Spinner role. Bring back Bobby as a guest and go out in style... there's still time... :-) But no for now, I doubt Bobby will be back any time soon and I think Keith Carlock will just be another solid drummer. I really hope David is on the album. Niv

Is Bobby Ingram back in Molly Hatchet these days? I've looked this up based on this thread, but it's still going for a high price despite being recently re-issued. Paying more than a tenner these days for a CD is just a rip off... I'll keep my eyes peeled though, as it sounds quite promising. Niv

I live in hope. I traveled to Austria to see them in 2010. They were superb. I'd love to see them do a full tour in the UK, especially if they will soon have a new album to promote. The only thing I thought was a shame, is that they didn't play anything off of Falling In Between, which was a superb album and which Joseph featured on. If memory serves it was all 1978 - 1988, although they did

Evidently, David posted on Facebook (in response to the new tour announcement) "I'm playing that tour with Toto...last time I toured with them--1980. It's going to be a beautiful reunion....then I'm gonna retire!" Seems fitting. I'm hoping he'll be on the new album, as all the press releases ignore the band having a bassist, and officially Mike Porcaro is still listed as Toto's

Wish this tour would do the UK. Toto have played here, what once (maybe twice?) in the past 8 years... Michael McDonald toured a few years back with Al Green, which was great, but i'd like to see him with Toto, as he'd probably focus more on his adult contemporary hits and Doobie's stuff than his Motown covers.
