Where did I say most? From about 1977 - 1989 there was some brilliant stuff... alot of it... rock, melodic rock, AOR, metal... after that it all got a bit stale apart from the odd gem. Even now... every once in a while the odd decent album pops up... nothing on par with the glory days, but something that will last a few weeks or months of plays, that you revisit every once in a while after

It's not feathers being ruffled... it's people constantly stirring the pot. At least Rocknut and Duncan and many others actually just come out and say it. Not the same old people chiming in to make things worse, or rush to Andrew's defence in what I can only assume is some sort of points scoring... It's been a real eye opener on here these past few days. And it's the people that think they a

They were brilliant live, and do the Lizzy name proud. They'll go back to the name again when they want to sell the tours, but for the album release, I see why they did it. Very much looking forward to this. Niv

No, Last Of The Terry Brock And That Guy From Winger & Starship Runaway Giant Mk. II or whatever people were saying they should be called... I'd enjoy a follow up... but it'd probably be written by Erik Martesson, so i'd have to bail on the idea and leave it as it was... Original Giant were one of the none poodle-permed, tight-trousered, silly make-up & shit lyric brigade that still go

Or, seeing as you have nothing good to say, why not ignore the thread paying homage to a great musician you don't like? Isn't that the advice given about Rocknut's "endless negative injections to every thread" or Can Man's interruptions of every thread... "oh if you don't like it, ignore it". But no, what's good for one is not good for another. I think for the sake of bein

Oh of course, because i'm young I don't know what i'm talking about. Sadly, the fact people in their 40's, 50's and 60's post endless bollocks on here day in day out negates that theory. Sure, there were a few "melodic rock bands" that didn't release utter shit, but they were (and still are) in the minority, and inevitably they are gonna get caught up in it... guilt by association.

... or I can like whatever the hell I like without the need to disrespect dead musicians because I wasn't into it or didn't get? I wonder how I found this site? Maybe it was in looking for news about the melodic rock music I enjoy, amongst many other types of music? Same reason I read news sites and follow other bands of different genres on other websites... I had it, but it was very poor demo quality, so I deleted it. If there was a tidied up version released (or if that even exists), i'd buy it in a heartbeat. Would be a fitting memorial to Jani's legacy... Niv

Not quite. I was pointing out the general hypocrisy of the way the board is "moderated". I used the exact example of it being ok to say "the best thing Kurt Cobain did was put a gun in his mouth and blow his brains out", but not to say Erik Martesson was a terrible songwriter (for example) in another thread a couple of hours ago... And voila, here it is again. Let's see ho

Why give them credit for not using the Thin Lizzy name, when what they've done is sound exactly like Thin Lizzy with a different singer... which is exactly what they are. I like it. I was suprised by how much like Thin Lizzy they decided to sound, but it's good. I reckon it'll be a really good Thin Lizzy album (whatever name they release it under really). Niv

See... making comments like a total ignorant twat like that, will probably get overlooked... If I said the same thing about Brad Delp or Marcel Jacob, i'd probably be hauled over hot coals and get hate mail or threatened at gigs... but because Kurt Cobain didn't record any AOR, it's fine. What he did, was take rock & roll and make it fresh and exciting again, after rock had become incredi

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Couldn't bear his over-the-top wailing and screaming ruining Richie's work. That's as bad as having Jon Bon Jovi whine all over it. No Richie = Still A Bon Jovi. They'd sound just as crap as they do now, so it really makes no difference who is in the band. He doesn't really write much for/with them, and his guitar isn't really the fo

Jesus Christ... The majority of these threads almost make me vomit in the back of my mouth. It's just never ending, and it's the same names on the same side of every argument (and the same ones that keep it going). "Feel sorry for me, i'm hard-done by" - "we all love you, don't worry" vs "I don't really agree" - "well fuck off then it's not your site and if y
