There are many songs on new Cd without rasp in Jeffs voice, probably Terry means track Other than me. I think Jeff uses rasp as kind of instrument, on harder songs a lot, on mellower ones much less. I think on studi recordings rasp sounds great, it is live where sometimes it fails to sound good.

Also for me the new tracks are nothing special. They still sound like demos, at least some production would improve them. The best of demos seems Does anybody really fall in love.

There are many differnet opinions about that record..for me after living with it for almost a month is still Album of the year. I like that it is not like in old times, there are many diferent kind of songs. I agree that they could save a ballad or two as a bonus track ( instead of demo versions).

Also with digital its a bit different as it was before. You can alway make the playlist of your favorite tracks or even burn a CD with favortite tracks from the same or different albums. Like in case of Gotthard, I picked favorite songs from last 2CD s and made 80 minutes compilation of music I liked.

Listnening to it for 2 weeks and its still very good to my ears, probably the best of the last 3. They tried also some new things like Black crows vibe, loose blues harp swamp song. The start of album with vinyl needle is short but always very effective. The slower song still sound classy after many listens. Hard to list the songs that stick out, I will try: MP3, Rise and Fall, Honestly, Time

I alway liked reading liner notes on the records, and one of the most important credista is Music. I think based on that also the intelectual rights are payed. Also authors often say first we have music, then much later words are written. But when listening to almost every song, there are at least 2 kinds of "music": The melody that the singer sings, and much different are the melodie

interesting opinions. Long time fan, they are maybe my favorite band.have album just 2 days and first opinion was just spechels, blown way by the quality. it is more raw, direct, even simple but i get it. There are many slower, ballad songs but to me they are the star of the record, so melodic, heartfelt verses.it is too early for final rating. Maybe it is clear why many here dont like it. Th

Brian of Tesla talks about new album and explains what it means that Tesla catalog music rights were aquired by Roundhill music (this was discussed on this board few days ago). http://www.bravewords.com/news/223441 "Round Hill Music recently announced their acquisition of 100% of the publishing for Tesla’s entire song catalog. “It’s kind of complex,” but Brian tries to expl

Lomgtime Tesla fan here. Now heard 6 songs on varios Internet radio podcasts. Only with Ricochet I was a bit dissapointed, although it grows on me. So divine is a good Tesla song, not above average, Similarly Rise and fall and MP3 are in the same category. I like a lot Cross my heart (different approach to slow song for them) and Flip side (raw, direct, fun).

The rights to Tesla catalog were owned before by Universal. I can only hope that the situation for Tesla improves with the new owner. For years Tesla was trying to relase a proper Box set but could not agree with Universal about the details. Some of details can be found on this link http://breakdownroom.net/tesla-210.html

Good job Andrew to offer quality and long samples a month before release. I tried not to listen, but couldnt resist. I listened to all samples. I hear the hooks, old school guitars, emotional vocals, sounds like a good CD. Now I deleted the samples too still listen to fresh CD

Somehow this sounds one of the better songs, despite similarity with Ooops. I have heard the album only over youtube, but somehow I can't like it at all. And the previous one Address the nation was top ten of that year for me.

I had similar problems initially. Than I reordered the tracks and put 8 straight rockers at the begginging and skipped a ballad or 2 and it makes for very energetic package. You just have to approach it with open mind, not only expecting "killer choruses"m then most of these songs really do rock.

Esšpecially this sentence makes a lot of sense to me: "I'd much rather put on a new studio album and dig into it fresh instead of already feeling like I've pre-listened to it. Does that make any sense??" Sometimes now this is hard to do. Most of the releases are available for pre-listen, or at least samples are available. And in case of an artist you know you will buy it anyway it

I am longtime follower of classic sports like aLpine skiing and ski jumping, but I do find some of the snowboarding events like slopestyle or cross very interesting sports to follow. I think it also takes quite some skill to master them.
