@deflep, forget about getting sound similar to those albums. Guitars were played there by Willis and Clark and it was produced by Lange. All thre were not recording this time. For them their roots are what was popular in the 70s on british charts..Queen, T-Rex, Slade,... On the other side, they are doing something right, filling arenas year after year with hits to thousands of casual fan

ok, but they already paid homage to their roots with the covers album, and also on the other albums there are always some songs in the style of 70s queen or sweet. I am still hoping for a good album, the Sparkle Lounge has some great songs.

Actually I think they dont't want to be modern rockers, they want to have this old classic 70s hard rock sound. The last album Bag of bones was not too bad, I listend on spotify and there were some nice hard rockers there, of coures different than their 80s sound. After first listen this new song is not instant, strange choice if this is first single.

I knew very little about Lynch's previous records but I liked a lot the first two videos that were released on youtube. Then I read this interview with him and he has some interesting ideas and talks very openly, not only about music but also life in general., like this one "I introduced the idea of making it equal. Just quarter splits, everybody got equal control and say, and you know,

It is a strong song, very "commercial" chorus, I would expect somehing like that from their collaboration with Desmond Child few years ago. Regarding lack of guitars its not so bad, the first 15 seconds are all guitars..and later also a lot of rhythm riffs, so its not like they recorded keyboards only song

That is great about music..it is different to different people. Simplicity is still my Cd of the year, not a bad song there even months after release. Especially the slower songs are really good. about dissapointments...it has to be bigger names in the scene like winget or mr. big. not bad records but could not find many memorable songs.

i discovered this band thanks to thi site some years ago and albums like Higher or Weight of world were real ear candy, of course also Mood swings. on later albums i liked like half of songs. but these 4 samples i heard on youtube do nothing for me. i hope whole songs will be better, but ..after hearing samples of some other songs on showcase is sounds much better!

There are many songs on new Cd without rasp in Jeffs voice, probably Terry means track Other than me. I think Jeff uses rasp as kind of instrument, on harder songs a lot, on mellower ones much less. I think on studi recordings rasp sounds great, it is live where sometimes it fails to sound good.

Also for me the new tracks are nothing special. They still sound like demos, at least some production would improve them. The best of demos seems Does anybody really fall in love.

There are many differnet opinions about that record..for me after living with it for almost a month is still Album of the year. I like that it is not like in old times, there are many diferent kind of songs. I agree that they could save a ballad or two as a bonus track ( instead of demo versions).

Also with digital its a bit different as it was before. You can alway make the playlist of your favorite tracks or even burn a CD with favortite tracks from the same or different albums. Like in case of Gotthard, I picked favorite songs from last 2CD s and made 80 minutes compilation of music I liked.
