interesting the credit the band give to Russ Russell for the "sound" of 'Long Road Made Of Gold'. They are not looking to be "retro". Job done - great CD.

thanks for all responses guys. I had briefly considered giving this gig a miss as had seen UFO "hundreds" of times. Thank goodness I did not - brilliant form , and a band really enjoying themselves & not taking anything too serious. Mixed the set list up again big time from those previously listed. Sir Phil in top form and announcing Run Boy Run from new album "Curiosity of S

Sammy's ever changing "on off" shirt would confirm this is not a live video.

not great imo - relied a lot on his mate , and the audience , to cover him. Did the Coverdale conducting thing too often for me - I'm there to hear JLT sing no some drunken Scotsman. And I really never , never need to hear Smoke on the Water or Hush again as long as I live , certainly not acoustic and from some guy with absolutely no connection to the original - with a back catelogue like he ha

In truth Thirteen is somewhat of an AOR masterclass, I particularly enjoyed the almost Queen-like guitar break in "Live It", a song which digs into the brain like a mole burrowing in a field. I can see a much younger and hipper band like We the Kings having a huge hit with the vaguely pop punk "Early Warning Sins" and there's the only rub I can find with the album. I just

Great album , Dans' "extreme metal" background will put many off but there really is far more to the guy than that "label". http://www.seaoftranquility.org/reviews.php?op=showcontent&id=16875

no vocals Paul - from his website :- Progressive rock and ambient keyboardist. Influenced by heavy progressive rock and old synthesizers, Jason creates modern, heavy instrumental music. The influences of King Crimson, ELP, Philip Glass, NiN, and Moog synthesizers are clearly heard. The style is loud, heavy, melodic, complicated, modern. talented guy.

I'm told "It’s also not going to appeal to anyone but other Prog obsessives and when we say ‘obsessives,’ we mean it. Common or garden OPETH fan? Pah, stay away, we have no room for such mainstream delights here. No, what RUBENSTEIN has created is a dense body of work that requires both multiple listens and a single minded determination to enjoy" Disagree - works for me strai

great "snapshot review" Andrew. The bits I've heard surprised me with the big guitars, sounded awesome. Sounded , now you mention it , like a more powerful/metalish Wig Wam.

this band always reminds me of a "qoute" "interview" with Chris von Rohr that I was involved with -basically Chris reflected on his time with Gotthard as basically unfullfilled potential - a world class singer , great songs , pub band musos. I've never personally liked anything I've heard from Rival Sons but certainly appreciate the singer is one talented dude, Unfortunatel

yup , there last night @ Glasgow 02 ABC.Still have huge memories of the 1999 gig at Maximes at the Gods with Kelly Hansen singing, last night did not make the same impression. Awesome players no doubt , the Bad Co bassist was a star , Jimmy Barnes son was as hard a hitting drummer as I've heard for a while & the hammond organ guy was the star of the show for me although Joe is a great live si
