Yea, I kinda see what you are saying there and maybe the huge positive expectations by some in their early days created an even bigger let down when they became 'radio friendly' and the passion against them turned sour. Its just a shame because they have some great music that is so badly dissed. For me I disliked (not using the word hate) their sound in their early days and came on board with

:) - yup, I think you are right there. All of you guys have a legitimate reason for not liking them, vocals being the most common reason. I feel the same about some bands raved about on here. But what REALLY bugs me is people who say Nickelback just suck but have no common sense reason. I think this will always remain a mystery to me but I will continue to announce my like for their music T

This is something I fail to understand as well. My 17 yr old son asked me the other day - he is also a fan - why all the hate and I couldn't give him an answer. Musically there is a lot of variation from hard rock songs (Burn it to the Ground) to sentimental ballads (Lullaby) and fun party songs (This Afternoon). CERTAINLY as much variation as any other band/artist - if not more. I agree, l

Like you Mike I have been a big fan for all of their career - old and new, and can't wait for this no matter what. Love the 2 new tracks. The interview with JBJ I heard on Youtube gave the impression he doesn't really care at all about 'Burning Bridges' and it seems there will be very little in the CD package. No band info or lyrics. I just hope it is priced as such. He does appear very psyche

I introduced a friend of mine to Rocksugar a while ago and he recently asked me if there any other bands that have done the same mix of tracks. I didn't think there was but thought I would check with you guys. Any ideas? Cheers

The new Swedish band for those that haven't seen the front page:) I like the sound of this - very 'Reckless Love' like and the track Aim For The Head sounds pretty cool.

Check out the first 2 releases Terry - S/T and Name of the Rose. For me miles ahead of anything else they have done. I can't really get into their latest few releases for some reason - and they are probably the ones you have heard. Check out the first 2.

Maybe. What is 'Radio Friendly" and why is a curse for some people?

That's been said before but I just don't hear it. I dislike Coldplay intently and only like a very limited amount of U2. All I hear in the later stuff from BJ is BJ - So I guess I'm lucky:)

Maybe Nickelback get the same hatred by some (and for no common sense reason), but the funny thing is they are 2 of my favourite bands. Maybe its this 'radio friendly' crappy reason they are now slated.

Now I totally disagree. For me BJ still do have the knack of the big sing-a-long anthems much like the 80's (although the topics might have changed) but what is now letting them down for me is the ballads, They are missing the feel for a good soft rock ballad and I haven't heard one I really like from them since 'These Days' (Although I did like some of the slower tracks off Lost Highway). But wasn't Living on a prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, Born to be my Baby, Living in Sin, etc 'radio friendly pop crap' (not hard rock or metal anyway) in the day:) Its all the same, just a different time.

I agree Terry. Foo Fighter's do little to nothing for me either, although I do love Dave Grohls attitude!!!! One of the best celebrity/rockstar attitudes around at the moment.

Thanks for that link. Really like Eddie Money and that's a great track I hadn't heard before. I enjoy it most when Eddie sings the slower tracks. My favourite ballad of all time is "I'll Get By".

What do you mean this band? I think all bands get their fair share of negative comments. Van Halen haven't got a mortgage on that at all:)

I agree jamesrock. I haven't heard a ballad from them I like in quite some time. I think songs like 'Make a Memory' are regarded as ballads but do nothing for me too much and I just pass the time listening to it.

So the general feel is that overall BJ should rock out more per CD - that's a fair opinion (although I am happy as they come at this stage). This new song seems to have everything going for it - it rocks and as catchy as hell and I love it so I don't know what more BJ can do for those that criticize this song. Like I said before though, before anyone comments about not being able to have an

What do some of you actually want to hear from BJ nowadays (remembering it is now 2015)? It just seems that everytime BJ produce a new track it fails to impress the same people and BJ are damned if they do and damned if they don't. I do like BJ - old and new - so maybe I'm easy to please:) Please don't read this as a dig against anyone that thinks BJ can't do anything right - I'm just curio

Nickelback because the tracks sounds like, to a lot of us, 'Gotta Be Somebody'. GBS is a track I also really like and I don't have any problem myself with that. The BJ track still sounds only like BJ can - and generic later day BJ it may be but I really like the track.
