I agree with Peter's comments and that this score is a joke. I was very surprised at this score. Its certainly not a great CD - although I don't mind it at all - but it has a few good tracks on it. I knew you didn't really agree with this CD Andrew for one reason or another but you cannot tell me tell me this is worse than some of the 30's and 40's you have scored on some previous reviews (I had

Sounds excellent! I am pleased they don't appear to be breaking the formula from the previous couple of releases which worked for me:)

I loved 1927's 'ish - brillant CD! You can add Icehouse to that list - great Aussie band that did well over here but I don't think anywhere else. Fortunately for us here in NZ most of those artists you mentioned did fantastic over here as well and toured a lot over here too. I managed to see a few of them regularly. Cold Chisel also has a cult following over here and I have seen them a few tim

Just what I was thinking Darren!! Any batsman needs some big balls ( and I don't mean cricket balls:) to face some of the bowlers in international cricket, especially now in the days of bodyline bowling. That should read 'Ballsy' not 'Poncy'.

This scenario begs the question though why there is not the same amount of 'hate' for Shinedown (or is there). They also put out 2 very different styled CD's early on and then went more commercial sounding - which, like Nickelback, is where I took a liking to them.

Hmmm, that's a bit harsh Andrew. I think for once we have to agree to disagree on that one. I really don't hear the same as you. In saying that there are other vocalists that you rave over that appear to (as you put it) be pushing out a big poo to me. Its definitely in the ear of the beholder I guess:)

Yea, I kinda see what you are saying there and maybe the huge positive expectations by some in their early days created an even bigger let down when they became 'radio friendly' and the passion against them turned sour. Its just a shame because they have some great music that is so badly dissed. For me I disliked (not using the word hate) their sound in their early days and came on board with

:) - yup, I think you are right there. All of you guys have a legitimate reason for not liking them, vocals being the most common reason. I feel the same about some bands raved about on here. But what REALLY bugs me is people who say Nickelback just suck but have no common sense reason. I think this will always remain a mystery to me but I will continue to announce my like for their music T

This is something I fail to understand as well. My 17 yr old son asked me the other day - he is also a fan - why all the hate and I couldn't give him an answer. Musically there is a lot of variation from hard rock songs (Burn it to the Ground) to sentimental ballads (Lullaby) and fun party songs (This Afternoon). CERTAINLY as much variation as any other band/artist - if not more. I agree, l

Like you Mike I have been a big fan for all of their career - old and new, and can't wait for this no matter what. Love the 2 new tracks. The interview with JBJ I heard on Youtube gave the impression he doesn't really care at all about 'Burning Bridges' and it seems there will be very little in the CD package. No band info or lyrics. I just hope it is priced as such. He does appear very psyche

I introduced a friend of mine to Rocksugar a while ago and he recently asked me if there any other bands that have done the same mix of tracks. I didn't think there was but thought I would check with you guys. Any ideas? Cheers

The new Swedish band for those that haven't seen the front page:) I like the sound of this - very 'Reckless Love' like and the track Aim For The Head sounds pretty cool.

Check out the first 2 releases Terry - S/T and Name of the Rose. For me miles ahead of anything else they have done. I can't really get into their latest few releases for some reason - and they are probably the ones you have heard. Check out the first 2.

That's been said before but I just don't hear it. I dislike Coldplay intently and only like a very limited amount of U2. All I hear in the later stuff from BJ is BJ - So I guess I'm lucky:)

Maybe Nickelback get the same hatred by some (and for no common sense reason), but the funny thing is they are 2 of my favourite bands. Maybe its this 'radio friendly' crappy reason they are now slated.

Now I totally disagree. For me BJ still do have the knack of the big sing-a-long anthems much like the 80's (although the topics might have changed) but what is now letting them down for me is the ballads, They are missing the feel for a good soft rock ballad and I haven't heard one I really like from them since 'These Days' (Although I did like some of the slower tracks off Lost Highway). Thanks for that link. Really like Eddie Money and that's a great track I hadn't heard before. I enjoy it most when Eddie sings the slower tracks. My favourite ballad of all time is "I'll Get By".
