AS a long time Opeth fan, those last 3 albums are very boring, have no heart or soul and seem to be trying too hard for that 70's prog rock sound and style. That said when I saw them at the Sydney Opera House a couple months back, those songs did come alive onstage.

Never going to happen, it's part of what made Opeth so unique and special, the progressive metal mixed with the growling vox. Now they are just a boring retro 1970's prog rock band recycling sounds that have been done many times before and a lot better.

I still have a chuckle when I read about the BBC licence fee. Glad we don't have it in Australia, and I hated paying it when I lived in Wales.

Then buy the Japan CD! Really not that much more expensive than regular CD's.

His voice must be really shot, or something else we don't know about? I mean if Steve Howe can play bass on Owner Of A Lonely Heart, a song that was recorded without him, surely SP can sing one down tuned song for the fans?

6. NOT!
He didn't sing, massive disappointment, surely he could have done one song?

Maybe it's such a small market with no demand for such releases?

Yeah pretty decent band and not too mention their alter ego is R2, a Rush tribute band. Though I think they are more prog metal than rock.

Sounds possible, but given that they, as of last week, were still recording the lead vocals in LA, it seems a little on the optimistic side. Then you have the mix, mastering, promotion, but that date could be right. Also now that KS has his own studio open in Sydney and he mixes their live sound, I reckon a few Aussie dates could be on the cards.

It's all up to a promoter to book the gigs and offer them to the band.

I have a Rega RP6, did a lot of research before I bought one. Well worth the money and very good quality made in England.

Here we go again with the mp3 sound. Does not matter what bit rate mp3 is sampled at, it is NOT CD quality and will always have a less dynamic range than a CD or vinyl. Yes I know there is FLAC and other lossless formats that can be used for vinyl rips, but how many of us would even bother, when most consider mp3 to be the 'standard'. My definition of shitty and yours are obviously total

UBB turntables are generally of low quality and really what is the point of having a dynamic LP only to transfer it to a shitty compressed mp3? Defeats the object of having vinyl.

Don't forget Digital Man, when they played that live a few tours ago, it was just magic. Signals is part of the fantastic trio of releases, Grace Under Pressure and Power Windows are just as good to my ears. Hold Your Fire is good, but not quite on par with the previous three.

Indeed, I just got the vinyl remaster, which sounds way better than the CD, and also a Blu-Ray audio of the album, which also sounds very good. I never get tired of hearing Subdivisions, reminds me so much of my youth.

2112 overrated? Not a chance, it's an absolute classic, the album that introduced me to prog and Rush back in 1982. The only one that for me is possibly overrated is Moving Pictures, yes a strong album, but maybe I've heard those songs, Sawyer/Limelight/YYZ too many times on the live records and video's. While there are a couple of hidden gems in The Camera Eye and Vital Signs. No bad Rush

I also got 2112, the deluxe box really nice all round package. Except for the genius who decided to put two 200g records in a single gatefold sleeve, causing the weight to be too much for the cardboard. Everything else is pretty sweet, the dvd is great the old footage superb and nice interview with Alex and Terry Brown.

In Australia the magazine is $19.95 for a recent air freighted copy. I used to be able to pay $4.95 for the online version, that disappeared around June. Before that I bought a load of online copies, only to find they dumped the app that ran it for a new one and l lost all the old editions. But in the end, the content was very variable, from the re-hashes of old articles, direct quotes f

Remastering has nothing to do with changing a drum sound, that would be remixing, and/or re-micing the drums to change the sound from the electronic Simmonds drums to a more natural tone.

You can get the 200g vinyl releases just about anywhere, I got mine here in Sydney. I also redeemed the d/l code, so they are not restricted in anyway. But the codes expire 31 December 2016. Check out ebay if you can't find them, prices are pretty reasonable.

Second rate rubbish, the riff is stolen from Motley Crue and the rest of boring rehashed rubbish.

Oh dear BB are a real second tier band, and not worthy to be mentioned in the same sentence as Nightwish, let alone Abba. The song isn't great, with Motley Crue's 'Wild Side; coming to mind.

Sydney yes, Utopia Records, metal specialist store, the best you will ever visit. We also have Red Eye, which has more variety, a decent metal section, loads of used in both stores.

That as you have described, sounds more like a production/recording issue than a mastering problem.
