Nightwish are at a far greater level than Sabaton. If you look at the album sales and headlining tours (non festivals), Sabaton have a long way to go to match Nightwish. 'As for the 3 faceless replacements' in Sabaton, your being a little harsh here. The only problem I have with the new line up in no keyboard player. Seeing them live with the keyboard back tracking so prominent on many songs

Seeing Sabaton for $30 is a steal, no question. What exactly don't you like about Nightwish?

The song is only 12-13 mins when performed live on the current tour.

Floor horrible, really? How exactly? Bad singing, strong accent, bad pronunciation? Anette was a round peg in a square hole. Good decent voice, but totally wrong for Nightwish's style. She was decent enough on DPP, but live on that tour was totally out of her depth trying, unspectacularly trying to perform the older material. With Floor NW finally have a singer with range, style, and a

There are a couple of threads already, so not totally ignored here. Definitely a grower, I've had it for the last week or so and it's getting better with each play. Huge epic sound, I'm looking forward to checking out the instrumental and orchestral versions in the next couple of days. Floor leaves Anette for dead, she has a far great range and sings with a lot more passion and emotion.

Epica are great and the growls are the icing on the cake. The growls have nothing to do with their following not being bigger. Delain are not even in Epica's league, first album was great second not so good and downhill since. While Epica are going from strength to strength, getting better and are killer live.

Didn't Kiss have Derek Sherinian a few years ago, have him hidden on stage behind a curtain playing live keyboards with them?

Hang on a second champ, no one was pointing any fingers in your direction. My comment was about mp3 and how they can spoil an album, due to their poor compressed lossy quality. I'm a massive Nightwish fan, I have some 90 odd NW CD's in my collection, but in no way was I tempted to spoil the pleasure of the real CD. BTW you must have some very good contacts to get an advance CD. Given that

Yes it's been around for a couple of weeks on the net. Not sure what the source is/was, but I am not listening to a bunch of shit quality mp3's. It would spoil the massive sound and production that I know is coming with the real CD.

No worries mate, quite a few bands that are adored by many just don't click with me. Green Day, urgh, don't get me started!

My username has nothing to do with anything really. It's just that, a username. I like all kinds of music, from classical to 1980's pop to opera and the most extreme metal you can imagine. Great music is just that regardless of genre or catagory. One of my fave artists is Mike Oldfield, who in the past has written and performed many lengthy epics. I just don't get the Neal Morse hype

No most long songs are worthy of the length and contenet. Even some of the extreme metal bands I listen to have epic 20 and 30 minute songs that even seem to finish too quickly. Not interested one bit in Neal Morse solo stuff, but he's okay in Transatlantic and they have some mighty epic songs.

The original was a great song, but plenty of people have covered it over the years and they are far better than WS version. This is my fave version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAr7_aE-ReY

Pretty much all of my fave artwork is created by Travis Smith. Maybe the bands he works with are not MR fodder, so he might be a little unknown around here? His style is very distinctive and quite easy to spot. http://www.seempieces.com/GalleryFrameset.html

Sorry don't like him at all, the voice the lyrics not for me. I can usually listen to most, metal, pop, opera and classical, but I cannot stomach him at all.

Yup I saw them twice when I lived in the UK, and I've seen the real PF and RW and they are almost as good. Close your eyes and drift away and you could be mistaken for the original.

New celtic/folk rock sound? It's one bloody song, how does that equate to a bands new sound? Do not put words into my mouth. Niether you or me know what Floor's range is these days, but on the evidence of the latter After Forever, ReVamp and the forthcoming Nightwish album, it appears that she dosen't want/need to hit those high notes that she helped make her name with all those years ago w

Well I'm not expecting it to be a throw back to the old Nightwish sound and style of operatic vocals of the first three albums. Tuomas does not write those kind of songs anymore, and Floor does not sing in that range since the early After Forever albums. I think there is a massive misconception that Nightwish + Floor Jansen = Massive operatic vocals and the possible regression of Nightwish

Yeah Imaginaerum was tough for me, and to this day I do not like the vocal version of it. It took a few plays of the instrumental version for me to fully appreciate the songs, and some of the epic arrangement. The orchestral version is even better.

My fave female fronted Finn band (inc an Irishman and Dutch girl) are back with their first studio release with Floor Jansen on vocals. Not what I was expecting, the song is very melodic and straight forward. It's not immediate as a lot of their previous singles, but is very subtle and makes sense after a few plays. http://youtu.be/zPonioDYnoY

No it's been the same with band/artist official forum. Links to illegal pirated music/video are deleted and repeat offenders get banned. This is common practice and too right. It's nothing more than forum etiquette and a common courtesy.

Totally worth it, I have a mini zep. Would have got the big one but no room in my place for it. Try cheaper units and then the zep and you'll hear a massive difference.
