Van did record a solo cd called "New Blue". I dont think it has ever been officially released but he was selling copies at the solo show he did at the Voodoo Lounge in Kansas City. http://hardrockhaven.net/online/2012/03/live-van-mclain-and-the-movers/ His solo music is more in the blues genre than straight forward rock like Shooting Star. I picked up a copy of the cd and it is very goo

Didnt he actually start this habit 10 or 15 years ago with some smart ass comment about all the Mexicans in San Antonio TX. he ended up having to apologize for? Maybe DL should just tour with the Dixie Chicks and call it the "Mouths Gone Wild" tour.

I live in Kansas and while tornado's can happen any time of the year, the peak tornado season usually ends around June 15th. Once the peak of summer hits the tornado's die off. Most storms this time of year are just rain, wind, and hail. I have seen tornado's hit as late as November but thats very rare.

The first time I heard it I instantly thought of Pat Benatars song also. I had to stop what I was doing and listen closer to make sure it wasnt a cover version, so its not just your opinion Miles. There is no way thats a coincidence. It may be an unintentional rip off of Pats version, but its pretty much the same song.

Andrew, I have to agree with you 100% on your review of the new Reo cd. As a long time Reo fan I would of course wish that they would bring Gary back and return to their 70's midwest style rock but we all know that isnt going to happen. This effort imo is no doubt their best since Hi Infidelity and would have been a fine follow up to that classic album. As you stated the first four tracks are as

At first I didnt think this was a good match either, then I saw the live dvd and was shocked. Paul does a fantastic job singing the Queen songs in his own way and not trying to mimic F.M.. If you are saying that he is not the right fit but have not seen or heard them together I suggest you pick up the dvd "Return of the Champions". It is very good. As far as I know they are not calling

If you have the chance to catch Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band on their current North American Tour I highly suggest that you not miss it. I saw the sold out Kansas City show last night and it was fantastic. Even at 61 years old he still sounds as good as he ever did and is all over the stage. It was obvious that he was having a great time. The crowd was loud and singing every word right a

I was one of the lucky ones who got this cd before it was offically released and have been listening to it for a while now. I was really shocked at the low score Andrew gave it. I agree with a couple of the posts above, that the production issues are very minor and dont detract from the over all quality of the music. I would give it a 95%. It is by far my favorite release of the year and I think

This is a quote from Van to the SS yahoo group which also serves as the official fan club. "Because of personal problems and a change of jobs Keith Mitchell will not be singing on the new album or tour. I waited for a while before we started looking for a replacement just in case Keith would change his mind or get his other issues worked out. It appears that his move is final." If you

I think the biggest problem aside from downloading is the lack of quality product avalible to the general public. I have over 800 legitamate cds and I would guess that 80% were bought between 10 and 20 years ago. Back then between all the "hair bands", hard rock bands, and major melodic rock bands you had good new releases almost every week. Now unless your into rap or country your luc

The comment about lack of material wasnt as much a theory or excuse as much as just a thought. It could be something as simple as she wasnt feeling very well and cut the set short, I dont really know or care. I can tell you this though, I have been told by member of a band that some venues are starting to put time limits on how late the shows can go. Most of this is because of union issues deali

Part of the problem is that acts like Avril and Clarkson havent been around very long and dont have much good material to play live. Its hard to stretch 3 or 4 hits into a 2 hours show and still keep it interesting. Acts like Billy Idol have been around for 20 or 25 years and have 8 or more cds to pick material from to play live. Older bands have the opposite problem, they can only play so long

I dont think this is a good idea at all. If this cd is only avalible to the select people who go to the concerts for the time being, I believe it is this is just going to fuel illegal downloading of the cd and cost them sales when the cd is officially released to the public. I also usually like knowing a bands new songs before I hear them in concert.

I dont really care how many cds a new Journey/Perry, Reo/Richrath,or Shooting Star/West, and so on would sell as long as I had them in my collection for my listening enjoyment. Thats what really matters. A worthless cd that sells millions of copies is still worthless. Its not how many copies it sells, its how good it is to the person that buys it that matters. I happen to love the new Pat Benatar

I have this DVD and while it is very entertaining unfortunatly there is no older live footage it is all Waboritas. It is more of a documentary on his tour with David Lee Roth than anything. Lots of backstage footage, footage from the hotel, and from the plane. There are live clips sandwiched in between the other footage including concert segments with Ted Nugent, Gary Cherone, and Michael Anthony

I agree with that, but I think there is a better chance of Elvis turning up alive than Gary back in Shooting Star.

I got this cd a while ago and I wasnt disapointed. Kind of a Bon Jovi/Tesla hybrid in my opinion. I agree that the production could have been a little better but the song writting is pretty good. ''Time" is my favorite song off this cd and the cover of ''Drift Away" is great. They show great promise.

And then Joe decided to put out the Slang album and rip off the fans!!! I will listen to any Krokus cd before I listen to Slang, or X for that matter. I wish AC/DC would hurry up, get their new cd out and get the US tour started.

I was a big fan in the 80s, and I like this cd also. I agree that it is more mature than the earlier stuff, but still has the old sound to it.

I think its a great album with a nice mix of rockers and ballads. Easy to listen to and has a great flow to it. There is a touch of her earlier years mixed with some of her later sound and a little bit of a more modern sound thrown in. Its one of my favorite cds of the year, I highly recommend it if your a Benatar fan or a fan of 80s rock.

I have Novas Dream. It has 18 cuts on it and total running time is 62:22. The cuts range from 6 seconds to on that is over 9 minutes. It is kind of a mixed bag of stuff. Its not bad but I dont know if its worth $13.00. If your patient you can probably pick it up off ebay for about half that.

Why dont you try giving some examples of specific bands from the 70s and 80s that you like and maybe we can come up with something of the same type. I was into bands like Shooting Star, Reo Speedwagon, Journey, Kansas, ELO, etc. and had tough time adjusting to the new sound of melodic rock but after some expirimentation I have found several that I really like. 101 South, Mecca, and Shiva are good
