I'm not sure if the Martin twins are involved in the next First Signal album. If you like their songwriting, don't miss the 2nd and 3rd Khymera album (A New Promise and The Greatest Wonder) because most songs were written by them.

Thank you for the link Shade! I'm actually surprised that the beginning of the song is something really familiar to my ears. I have another version with Dennis Stratton on lead vocals, on various artists CD called "England Steel vol.I - Start Em Young" (assembled by Lea Hart who wrote Miles Away and bunch of other songs). There is also another version with Paul Di'Anno on lead vocals.

Oddly enough the song was credited only to Rick Nielsen on Sahara album. Rick maybe forgot that Gregg didn't co-write this one.

I am a bit crazy in this one. I ordered all three versions of the album because each has different bonus track(s). The US 2CD version has already arrived yesterday, next is the European and Japanese editions. As an old MC fan, the return of Mike Howe is something very special. Let's hope he will still be in the band for the next album... I don't want Ronny Munroe back again.

Actually Nalle wasn't a part of the band back in the 80's. He joined the band when they reunited for the Weapons of Choice compilation (on the two brand new songs) and also for Coup de Grace album of course.

The new one is great (extra credit to Paul Logue who co-wrote some songs and also seem to be the huge supporting force throughout the making of the album), but the previous one might be 'samey' in the song variations.. just be careful :) I did enjoy it when I first got it, now it's different. I prefer the 2nd album although nowadays I can only enjoy half of it (some of the remakes, from JSS, Don

I don't have the Magnum new album, but sometimes the audio on a DVD is not a CD-quality audio. For example, Pretty Maids It Comes Alive DVD has 192 kbps (stereo) or 448 kbps (5.1) audio selection, which is below CD-quality audio standard. So having the bonus songs on CD (for Magnum new album Japan edition) is a better thing for album listening experience. Another case of CD buyer being screwed

I also always go directly to the Japanese version nowadays when it comes to buying a CD. In the case of Lords of Black new album (Marco's original post), the digital bonus track Innuendo is actually available as one of the bonus tracks on the Japanese CD version of the album.

The Russian 1989 show is also available on DVD, not an official release sadly. The title is "In Moscow". Agree that the "Cross Purposes Live" hasn't received proper DVD treatment. Even the recent Japanese DVD reissue also looks like a transfer from VHS. It's weird because it's released by Ward Records (if I'm not mistaken) who also released better quality DVD's/Blu-ray's.

Tyr is also my favorite from the Tony Martin era. If I have to rank them... then it's: Tyr - Cross Purposes - Headless Cross - The Eternal Idol - Forbidden

You can also listen to a sample of the title track on iTunes. Interesting that they start the album with a slower tempo song, compared to the uptempo "The War Is Over" on Coup de Grace. Anyway, pre-ordered the album from CDjapan a couple days ago, along with Metal Church's reunion album with Mike Howe. Two of the most anticipated albums this year for me :)

The drummer is Van Romaine, who played in Steve Morse Band in the past. The band announced this on their facebook last year, if I recall correctly. Edit: didn't see the cover first.. Van's name is mentioned there

Poor Vandenberg. So when he joined Whitesnake, he expected himself to be the only guitarist (and found out there was Vivian Campbell in the band) and when he was about to record his first album with the band, Steve Vai wanted to record all the guitars by himself. What's so special about Vai anyway?

I think it's Lynch Mob and Badlands respectively, not Badlands and Lynch Mob respectively ;) John West was briefly in Badlands after Gillen was out of the band. I think they recorded some demos before Atlantic dropped the band. Chas West never recorded anything in studio with Lynch Mob, he was the singer on 2011-2012, if I'm not mistaken. Some people posted the videos with him on vocals here in

Didn't expect a lot from this actually, at first I thought it's just like an Eclipse album with Ronnie on vocals. However, last week I heard longer samples at iTunes and I was quite impressed. Pre-ordered this and the new Primal Fear album from CDjapan, both released January 20.

Hmm I thought you enjoyed the previous VC album Terry? I actually liked the previous album from the first listen. However, I have to admit that I was kinda underwhelmed during my first listen of new VC album. First impression, I didn't think the songs weren't as strong as the previous album. Alessandro Del Vecchio sings a lot of lead vocal parts, which is something different compared to the prev

I'm a big fan of Tobi too, both in Avantasia and Edguy. Agree that the 2nd Avantasia is rather weak, I think The Seven Angels" and "Chalice of Agony" are the only good songs from that album. Really looking forward to Ghostlights after reading Aussie Dave's comments. To be honest I'm still a little worried due to Dee Snider's and Geoff Tate's involvement in this album.

The Avantasia "Flying Opera" DVD is from their first ever tour (after the Scarecrow album), combining the Wacken Open Air and Masters of Rock shows. Their 2014 Wacken appearance (Mystery of Time tour) was filmed for TV, but not released as DVD.

If it's a Blu-spec CD, then it must be a Japanese import... no wonder the price is insane. GBP 55 is too much tough, CDjapan has them and they're cheaper there. Been browsing Amazon UK for these, yep, the deluxe UK CD+DVD edition is at GBP 14.99, here's one link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blackout-Bonus-DVD-Scorpions/dp/B014FJPWDG

Terry, these two tracks are not even available on the Japanese edition. The two Japanese bonuses are different songs to the two vinyl bonuses. At least the Japanese bonus tracks were previously released on the Futurama EP, so people who bought the Frontiers version of Heroes and Villains are not really missing anything from the Japan edition. The vinyl bonus tracks issue is a different story. T
