Let's not forget that Aquiler Priester (the drummer) is now a member of Primal Fear as well. I was sad that Randy Black had to leave, but Aquiler is a promising replacement for sure.

Yeah, I think Dante made a good effort in that Better Days rehearsal. There is also a video of Shame On You rehearsal recently, it's pretty faithful to the original.. the music is spot on, the vocals is rather good, although it's way below Rankin's vocal range. I can't stand Beautiful Smile though.. the vocals are horrible in my opinion. I don't know if I'm right or wrong, but sometimes I can

Dante Gizzi is still the singer. Pretty bad IMO, especially when compared to Mark Rankin. Btw, that 3cd reissue of the debut looks delicious indeed. I've been thinking of getting that one, but I already own most of the Gun cd singles..except the Money single that contains non album b-sides Prime Time and Dance

Yeah..that's weird. I'm more of Journey fan so having Neal and Arnel as guests will not be a problem at all. But if Kelly Keagy (for example) is the guest vocalist, then I might say something different.

Mantis now have the singer from Dutch band Vengeance. I think the new drummer is also from Vengeance as well. Disappointed that Mike Freeland is no longer in the band cos he did great job on Sanctuary album (bit unexpected actually, but the album turned out to be excellent, much better than the Journey Goes On) You might want to read these regarding the recent Praying Mantis vocalist/drummer s

Didn't notice that too. I thought it's going to be a studio re-recording like Mood Swings II for example. Sounds lazy if Foreigner just use live performances and (probably) remove the audience. Speaking of re-recordings, I think the only re-recorded album that sounds really good is the one that Mr. Big did for their latest album (bonus disc on Japanese 2cd+1dvd edition). I wish they at least re-

Stevie is the son of Malcolm's/Angus' oldest brother. I was expecting him to be much younger (both in age and look) to his uncle, but it turns out that Stevie is only 4 years younger than Malcolm and 2 years younger than Angus. Their family name might be "Young", but they all look "Old" indeed LOL. Here's a comparison picture between Malcolm and Stevie.. who looks like who?

Really good, as a matter of fact. The absence of Magnus Karlsson turns out to be a positive thing. It's also interesting that Jorn is involved in the songwriting, unlike on the previous three albums. He co-wrote the music with Tolkki on 6 songs, and wrote the lyrics by himself on 7 songs.

Approx. 1 min 30 secs samples can be heard via iTunes. Sounds like Thundersteel era Riot as expected, but not as good. https://itunes.apple.com/jp/album/unleash-the-fire/id905877229

In regards to the new Ozzy video collection, I have to agree with what you said. The cost might be too high to do full HD restoration from the original film master, especially given the fact that they're dealing with different sources for each video. I think it would be easier for maybe a full concert. The Dio people have done it, with the Finding The Secret Heart Live In Philly 1986 set. Obviou

100% agree with you. The DVD might still be the most popular video format nowadays, but with the presence of high definition TV, I find that DVD has become more and more unwatchable. I mean... which one is better: DVD's 720x480 video resolution or blu-ray's 1920x1080? Not to mention that DVD's audio portion is usually NOT lossless. Frankly, DVD is only good for those who still use tube tv to watc

Exactly, that was the point. I don't know what's up with Barden these days. He's no longer needed in MSG either.

The last album has Jay Schellen and Larry Antonino (at least that's what the booklet says... I am suspicious that they appear in name only) but they are reduced to three piece again for this EP, just like on the UC3 album.

The old albums were great. I'm not sure about the new one... I mean, Gary Barden's voice may not be what it used to be these days, but I think he's a big part of the Silver sound. With Voss singing, this might be not be too different compared to Casanova or Demon Drive or anything with him on vocals. Sure the music will be different (Silver is much 'darker' compared to Casanova for example), but

definitely no contest... Marion is waaay better, and in a different league too. The debut was very good too. It's much more mature than her M2M days.

in my opinion it's not because of those 'young' bands, but because those bands are signed to labels who still believe in CDs (Frontiers, AOR Heaven). I don't know much about Quiet Riot situation, but I think their latest album was self-produced/released. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, Castaway is a BAD, BAD song IMO... ruined the In Progress album for me (in a similar way that In The Raw ruined The Storm's debut, or Livin' It Up ruined The Storm's 2nd album). Robert Sall can write a better song on his own, rather than collaborating with someone else and resulting in something like Castaway. Thankfully the new album has no song like that.

Well, I personally prefer the songs on "Window in the Wall" to all the songs he wrote for hard rock / heavy metal bands during the 80s.

Nowhere to Hide is a must have if you like Forever in Time. I still prefer Forever in Time because it has stronger songs, but Nowhere to Hide is pretty much the same. The production on Nowhere to Hide (courtesy of Steve Mann, formerly of Lionheart/McAuley Schenker Group) is also better than the previous album. The drum sound in Forever in Time is especially awful... I read that it's actually a dr

Just wait until it's released in Japan with a bonus track or two ;) The signed cd price is almost the same as a regular Japanese edition cd. Hopefully it's get released there as well, considering the band has good fan base in Japan.

I hope it's nothing like Europe's recent albums. Thanks to Eric Martin's vocals, I'm sure it will still be full of melodies.

Gotta love the song ;) Nice to hear the galloping rhythm during the verse. I was worried that Pat Regan might take the band into the direction of Get Over It again (a bland album, not my favorite album at all.. I still blame Kotzen for this one, although his contribution in Actual Size is a huge improvement). But with Paul Gilbert in the band, it seems we will have something different here.

Ha! Now I remember. This is probably why something sounds so wrong when Scottrock55 mentioned Tom Keifer as Tommy Keifer, LOL. The Krokus guitarist who committed suicide in 1986 is Tommy Kiefer (not Keifer) though.
