I must be listening to a different track because I'm not hearing viv 'let rip' at all. Not a bad track but I hope there's better than this on the album. It is DIO-like but lacking the master's magic dust. There again DIO was lacking in magic dust after Dream Evil.

As a big kiss fan it's probably the worst of the 80s albums. Some good songs and a load of crap ones.

Are there any other eponymously named bands where the member they are named after isn't in the band?

Two fine albums. I really like the DWB, prefer it to Giuffria.

He can't sing anymore, can't write. He'll be using the same people he's used for the last 15 years. He doesn't like metal. How can this be any good? Very surprised Frontiers have picked him up. Not even Erik Martensson can save this. Decent band but no songs and a crap singer. Only one way this is going.

Pretty good album almost from the start. Don't like the opening track but the rest is good.

I used to love live albums. The classic ones - Priest, UFO, KISS, Lizzy, etc- all sounded better than the studio albums. Ironic really when they were all "touched up" in a big way. Nowadays I just don't go for live albums - they sound too polished and not many bands do anything different from the studio version anyway. I'd rather hear the studio versions and they don't sound great in

As long as Billy replaced the vocals, all the music and rewrote the songs it might be worth a listen...

We aren't listening to the same album, obviously. It sounds ok but it's really just average cliched bollocks. Tolkki has lost any originality - he even plagiarises himself. Both vocalists do a fine job with what they are given. The best song here is the Savatage "cover".

Excellent album. First one was ok, not great. This is much more Transatlantic in style, and that's a good thing.

I liked it the first time when it was Savatage's Edge Of Thorns. Something of a rip off there.

Sounding better than the last one. Think I read that Chris Laney mixed this one so it should sound better than Riot Avenue.

Pretty good album. Not heard much by them before. Definitely going for the RJD vibe but I didn't spot any blatant rip offs. Nothing wrong with playing in the style of another band - most do!

I really love the Sanctuary album by them - the only one I've heard. And I agree about the Tony O'Hora album. Up to Karlsson's usual standard.

I liked it on forst listen, the odd poor vocal phrasing aside (the chorus to the title track for example - just doesn't sit well against the music. Decent effort. I loved his 78 solo record, his KISS songs especially on Dynasty and Unmasked and 50% of his solo output in the 80s, I thought Anomaly was utter shite. This one is good though. I don't hear much of the quality of his 70s output in i

Great album. I can't stand Udo's voice so can't listen to their older stuff. The new guy sounds like Udo but alot better.

Pretty low expectations given that Karlsson isn't involved this time and Tolkki is. Sounds like his Avalon stuff. And that's not good. Don't think even the awesome Russell Allen is going to save this.
