Gotthard with Steve Lee. I got to meet all of my idols over the years, but never had the chance to see him. It didn't help that they never played America. Kent Bates

Everyone seems to be pushing for the tour dates on the back and while I like that, I'm just happy with any type of design or print on the back. An album cover on the front and a band photo on the back is what made me pick up a Crashdiet T-shirt a few years ago from their website, and that is a type of shirt they could sell at their shows and their website. I just feel like I'm getting my money'

I'm comfortable with paying $30 with shirts, that's the going rate it seems these days, but I won't pay more than that. I wanted an AC/DC shirt when I saw them recently, but refused to pay $40 for it, especially when you can get an AC/DC shirt practically anywhere. My issue when getting shirts is a lot of them just have designs on the front, but nothing on the back. No offense Jeff, but that

Bought and listened to the Resurrection Kings last night. WHAT A SOUND!!! The production is top notch and it's a must have for anyone who loves Dokken/Dio type metal. Could easily be in my top 3 for the year. Kent Bates

The only subscription I've ever paid for on any website was MRX, but stopped doing it a while ago because frankly the content no longer interested me. I started spending money on MRR releases instead. I have no desire to pay for a monthly (or yearly) subscription to anything at this point. Kent Bates

The remastered version is a big improvement over the initial release. The album now sounds as good as their last two releases. Definitely worth the purchase if you can find it. Kent Bates

There's a history with Donald Trump and Dee Snider as Dee's been on Donald's Apprentice show twice. Say what you want about Donald, but he's contributed thousands of dollars to Dee's charity, which I believe was an organization assisting premature children, something dear to his heart as one of Dee's children was premature. Dee is just returning the favor. Kent Bates

Their album "Now and Forever" was album of the year for me back in 2012. Got to meet them when they toured with Doro in NYC. Great band and I'm sorry to see them go. Always thought they deserved more recognition. Here's one of my favorites from them. Great workout song! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tP7vRAr79N0 Kent Bates

I saw them on the Sting In The Tail tour and I almost wish he lip-synced. Klaus had the flu and he sounded horrible. I remember they played four ballads in a row and threw in an instrumental because he was so off key and he seemed winded. He apologized several times, but I paid good money and felt like I'd been cheated. We left right before the encore. They should have just cancelled and res

Terry, it begins around the 50 minute mark. They play a song, then the interview, then another song. If you look at the sound waves when fast forwarding, you'll see a dip in the volume of the tracks. That's where the interview takes place. Kent Bates

I have the Dokken T&N and ULAK albums. While the T&N one sounds good, the ULAK is fantastic. Found myself listening to it a bunch of times after I bought it, even though I've had the original album for 20 years. Definitely worth the investment. Kent Bates

Two places for me: 1) I was shopping at Shoprite, getting the essentials for my home, and they were playing Survivor - Across The Miles. I've heard Survivor played a bunch of times in different areas, but never anything from the album Too Hot To Sleep. 2) At Meadowlands Arena in NJ, my family was there to see a motorcross stunt show called the Nuclear Cowboys. While the crowd was settling

I go to the gym and I've got a few hundred songs on my iPhone under a playlist called "Adrenaline". I can't list them all here and I constantly rotate them for freshness, but one song that I can think of that has never left the list is "Rise" by The Cult. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cjlwsyXyos Kent Bates

It's more than just the chorus, ALL of the lyrics are from the Journey song. The music is completely different, so different in fact that I don't think you notice that the lyrics are word from word from the original. It's a great version, but for the guitarist to claim he wrote the lyrics is 100% false. Kent Bates

I probably picked up the other copy they had at NEH records at the same time. I was quite shocked at the Chain Reaction song. I really dig the way they did it, but for the guitarist to credit himself as the writer has really set himself up for a major lawsuit. The album didn't go anywhere sales wise (perhaps they should have considered a better band name) but if it did then would have to pay t

I own The Best of Dokken Japanese compilation (1994). I bought it back in the day because it was the only CD copy at the time that had the song "Back For The Attack". The Dream Warriors track is the same one featured on BFTA. Kent Bates

Agree. I was really looking forward to Sabaton as I'd never seen them before. The NYC crowd went crazy for them. They should really consider headlining on their own. Nightwish were good in concert, but their setlist could have been better. Only one song from Dark Passion Play. While I admired that they played a bunch of tunes off the new album, they really should have avoided playing that l

I'm glad Boston is outselling Alanis Morisette. I remember hearing in the 90s that Alanis outsold Boston to become the best selling debut album ever, and that pissed me off. In time, Boston reclaimed the throne. Kent Bates

The only original members are the guitarist and the bassist. It's a little shameful that they are putting down keyboards because their old keyboard player passed away a few years ago. Seems disrespectful. Kent Bates

An album that always stood out as having a strong bass presence, while not compromising the guitar, is Slaughter's Fear No Evil. One of the few albums that I've heard where you can hear both instruments equally, at least to my ears. Kent Bates

I read about two chapters of his autobiography and had to get rid of it. I determined the less I knew about him the more I'd be able to enjoy his music. He had an obsession with dogs that I found disturbing. Kent Bates

Regarding his tombstone, Jewish cemeteries are usually like this, very low key. You can't even bring flowers, just rocks every time you come by to visit. I'm sure it's what his mother wanted for him. Kent Bates
