An album that always stood out as having a strong bass presence, while not compromising the guitar, is Slaughter's Fear No Evil. One of the few albums that I've heard where you can hear both instruments equally, at least to my ears. Kent Bates

I read about two chapters of his autobiography and had to get rid of it. I determined the less I knew about him the more I'd be able to enjoy his music. He had an obsession with dogs that I found disturbing. Kent Bates

Regarding his tombstone, Jewish cemeteries are usually like this, very low key. You can't even bring flowers, just rocks every time you come by to visit. I'm sure it's what his mother wanted for him. Kent Bates

So I watched the Quiet Riot documentary and thought it was really good. I admired that it didn't seem to hold anything back, showing the struggles Frankie Banali has gone through, or so I thought. There was one part of it that kind of ruined it for me. I did a quick wikipedia search to try and find out what happened to the last singer they let go, the one before Jizzy Pearl, and noticed a gla

I really dig the Survivor - Vital Signs Rock Candy release. Some other ones that I thought were worth the money is the recent Whitesnake '87 Deluxe Edition (the drummer's high hat is so crisp and sharp it adds to the whole dynamic of the album) and the Japan Remaster of Dokken - Back For The Attack. There's a few sellers I buy from on Ebay who sell new stuff at reasonable rates. I also try NEH records as well. I occasionally pick up new releases from major artists at Best Buy and whenever I can make my way out to New Jersey, I hit Vintage Vinyl, the best independent music store in my area. Kent Bates

I forgot about the Hammerfall/Edguy concert I saw a few years back. Also saw Lordi years ago and have to catch Sabaton when they come by on their next tour. All these European bands play here regularly but most of the melodic acts do not. You think they would find a way to make it work. Kent Bates

So I went to see Within Temptation and Amaranthe last night in NYC. For those outside America, Within Temptation get ZERO airplay here in the States, except perhaps Satellite radio. Yet they filled a 2,000 capacity club. I went to see Crashdiet last year in NYC. Again, ZERO airplay in America. While the theater wasn't sold out, it was quite filled for a Thursday night. Both these bands do

Absolutely get "Tearing Down The Walls", my album of the year. Next you should purchase "Address The Nation". Their two other albums have a different singer, but I think most would agree the "S/T" has a better production than their second album "Freedom Rock". All are available on iTunes. On a side note, check YouTube for a Japan release only track, &

Yeah, their stage setup was incredible. Lights like an arena show. Also thought Grand Design and Adriangale were great. I was not here last year so it's my first time at HOME bar and the place is incredible. The best bar/club I've ever been in. Getting ready for day 2. Kent Bates

Andrew, so why was MRF3 such a success? What was the reason that it drew the numbers that you needed to try this again a year later? That's the only one I didn't attend so I can't say what was different about that one compared to MRF1 or 2. The only difference I can see is a time lapse. Having the festival every year is something that most people cannot afford to go to. Speaking for me, I'

The difference with the Prince CD is that you see it. I had to discover my device was manipulated through the media. The surprise of it all is what bothers me. If someone just walked into your house and dropped off a gift and left, while a nice jesture, it's creepy. It's like Apple went into property that I purchased and said "Hey make room for this, you'll like it!" I'm frankly su

I found out about it when I read the controversy surrounding it. I then checked my phone and computer and found it on both devices, without my knowledge. Just because it's a rock band does not make it right. I can delete spam from my mail too, but that doesn't mean I want it there in the first place. Kent Bates

I have to say I didn't listen to it because I refused to listen to it when I found out that Apple automatically pushed it onto my phone and computer.Who the hell is Apple to decide what music should go on my devices? They should have offered it up as a free download and left it at that, but this feels like a violation. Kent Bates

Well this comes off as quite contradictory. Eddie talks about supporting new and upcoming bands and keeping the scene alive, but according to Andrew he refused to offer support to the MelodicRockFest because "those" bands are, according to him, not what his audience wants to hear. Perhaps he's having a change of heart. Andrew, it's a long shot, but perhaps you should reach out to hi

Nope, Stryper for me. I like various songs from his solo career, his best album being "Real", but I like the straight forward hard rock/metal of Stryper. His solo stuff tends to incorporate various styles, which is fine, just not what I want from him. Kent Bates

I for one love the variety. While I'm not a fan of everything Jeff does, the variations in musical style doesn't bother me as Jeff releases so much material in a short amount of time. If you don't like something he does, wait six months. He'll release something else. You'll get a gem of an album soon enough. Kent Bates

I personally would only pay extra for autographs or photos of people I would love to meet, but it has to be reasonable. I paid about $100 to meet Stryper last year. I got a goody bag, permission to sign up to three items, a photo with them, an USB drive documenting that meet and greet, and early entry to the facility. At the spot I selected to watch the show, I caught a bible! To me, that was
