The three coolest things I ever got from a band: A guitar pick from Rick Savage A drum stick from Tommy Aldridge (when he briefly played with Yngwie) A guitar string from Yngwie. He ripped out the strings in front of me during a guitar solo. The string fell to the stage and I grabbed it. Kent Bates

She opened up for Stryper a few years ago and I was front and center watching her perform this. At the time, she was 15 years old!!! She's an incredible talent. Here she is that same night singing To Hell With The Devil with Stryper: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4tq6SDRRCAU Kent Bates

While I certainly acknowledge that "Lulu" is one of the worst albums ever, I never bought it. What pissed me off is the two albums I did buy: Dokken - Shadowlife - I remember reading an interview from the band prior to this album coming out, and even they sounded surprised about what came out of those sessions. Utter trash. Yngwie Malmsteen - The War To End All Wars - Production

I dug the Dee Snider one. He didn't do drugs, so his memory of events wasn't affected negatively. Kent Bates

Hey Don, Back Into Your Arms is a bonus track off the Address The Nation album. All I could find on YouTube was someone playing drums to the song. If you need a copy, let me know and I'll e-mail it to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hm7XKQKUUdQ Kent Bates

Always loved the Spanish band Elyte. Was hoping they would release more than one album. Wonder whatever happened to them. Here's their best song: https://youtu.be/tQu38xHiBmQ Kent Bates

YouTube recently started it's own streaming service called YouTube Music. I had been subscribing to YouTube for over a year when I was offered this service free a month ago. Being that I have never subscribed to a streaming service before, it really is incredibly convenient. However, I will still continue to buy CDs because it gives more support to the artists and like most everyone else here,

Yngwie's "The War To End All Wars". An album so bad I kept trying to fix my stereo when I first put it on, thinking that was the problem. Then I put another CD in and discovered the truth. That album was a hot topic on this board when it first came out. I was so mad that he had the gall to release an album of that quality that I instantly stopped being a fan. Haven't bought an al

Occasionally older bands get newer stuff played, but it depends on the DJs. Eddie Trunk on Hair Nation would surely play new Whitesnake. Jim Florentine has a show on Ozzy's Boneyard which plays newer stuff and deep tracks. On Octane, I heard a show from Chris Jericho and he played a recent Stryper track. It always frustrated me that not only do stations like Hair Nation not play more modern

I've given this some thought lately, as I recently purchased the new Crazy Lixx album and found the sticker across the spine. I read on this board a while back that Amazon is legally burning certain CD-Rs and passing them off to customers as part of their "on demand" service. Is the sticker being placed across the spine a way to verify product authenticity? I can't think of one other

Talisman - Coming' Home. I actually heard this version first on their "Best Of" album and was shocked at how much better this version was than the one that was on "Genesis". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8zL1SeN6oc Kent Bates

If it's a new release, I usually go to eBay first, followed by NEH Records. If it's a CD that has been out for a while, I try Amazon, then eBay & NEH. Kent Bates

I was an audience member for Yngwie Malmsteen's "Carry On My Wayward Son" video. Only 30 people showed, so they had us gather around the stage where Yngwie was for close up shots. Footage filmed the night before at a show filled in the rest of the shots. They played the song three times and mimed to it. Even though only 30 people showed up, after the shoot he went back stage and never

This is more on the heavier side of the musical spectrum, but I love Five Finger Death Punch's "Got Your Six". Here's one of the best songs off that album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=punla7YS6Pk Kent Bates

Really digging their last two albums as well. I'm the same way when it comes to keyboards, I don't like them being overly prominent, but there's something about this band that just works for me. Kent Bates

The first time I ever listened to Whitesnake's "Still of the Night". Sykes coming out of that incredible solo and going back to the main riff. ALL of the hairs stood up and I got that endorphine rush in the back of my head, the kind that travels down the spine. To this day, Whitesnake '87 is one of my all-time favorites. Kent Bates
