It's not about coming close to, or being as good as, the original. Nobody will ever be as good as RJD. It's about paying tribute to and honoring the music that came before you, that influenced you, and that paved the way for you to do what you do.

Hey Scott! We are working on 'Frozen Hell' right now! At the moment, we are tracking rhythm guitars and beginning work on tracking drums. It won't be too much longer. We're really excited about people getting to hear what we're working on!

I felt like 'Amen' was just a heavy country song...

This should be zero surprise to anyone. Vince has never, ever been a good singer. His voice fit Crue in the early days, but he was more of a stylist. Him attempting to sing the national anthem is like Pavorotti attempting to rap.

Slaughter wrote every one of their own songs, and were self-produced (Mark & Dana produced everything). What other band from their genre, that still plays today, did that?

It seems like they're trying to find a solution to the old "I don't know if I like the whole album....I only heard one song" thing and stagger a few songs out prior to album launch hoping that once people hear 3 or 4 songs they'd have a better idea of whether they like it or not...hoping that if they like those 3 or 4 songs, they'll go ahead and buy the album.

I contend there was no time to write new material w/ Joel. When he was hired, he had to finish up a TSO tour and the rest of the Rock Of Ages thing. Then he jumped headlong into Whitesnake with most likely only his guitar parts to record on The Purple Album. Had they waited til he was freed up, a new album would have still been a couple years away.

Michael's vocals are excellent, George's solos are great, but only 2 or 3 of the songs really kept my attention. Maybe next time...

I had a feeling that was the case. I heard several times a few years ago that the ONLY reason VH was even active at all was because EVH wanted to play w/ Wolfgang. Had his son not been interested in playing, VH would be completely dormant. Valerie even said as much in an interview.

One has to remember, there are ways to consume meth other than smoking. If I'm not mistaken, it was what long haul truckers used to use to stay awake overnight. With the touring schedule Survivor was on, and his advanced age, he may have simply tried to maintain his energy level and his already failing circulatory system could not handle it.

He did not trash Sean...he simply stated the truth. Sean has a lot going on and was more interested in promoting himself via Dokken. You can be friends with someone and not be able to work with them.
