This may be a result of decreasing download purchases. I heard a rumor that even iTunes may be getting out of the music selling market and going to a subscription stream format like Spotify. Downloading used to be the big thing deterring people from buying CDs, now streaming is deterring people from buying downloads.

I know a LOT of metal bands and labels use Bandcamp and have success with it. I'd love to see more of our genre(s) represented there, personally. The best thing about it, if you're into getting downloads, is that you have the choice of lossless FLAC, lossless WAV or 320 MP3 as opposed to services like iTunes and Amazon who cap off at 256 MP3, I believe. Anyway, we put Seven Hard Years up on

Cheers, Scott! There's a lot going on actually. Life happens and causes delays, none of which we could foresee. We all hoped things would proceed faster than they did, but such is life. Currently: - album is in the hands of Ty Sims and nearly finished mixing - layout/artwork are being finalized - band is prepping to play Rock N Skull Fest in October Apologies for the wait, but you k

Because when Elefante was in the band, Livgren was still writing and on the first album Steinhardt was still contributing. And on Power, Walsh was writing. Walsh & Livgren were the writers in Kansas. What we have now is Phil Ehart and Rich Williams, neither of whom were major contributors to the Kansas sound or legacy, writing songs with people who have never written Kansas music. It's

Yeah, really. I am not into them at all. When both of your writers and both of your singers are gone, it's just not possible to recapture that vibe with different people. All personal perspective, of course...but I am just not feeling these songs. Same with Arnel-Journey and Todd-Queensryche...they have talent, but no magic...rings hollow to me.

Alter Bridge is a band I want to like. Myles Kennedy has a fantastic voice. But I just find their songs boring, for the most part.

Shallow. Trite. No magic. Doesn't sound like Kansas. Sounds like a band trying to sound like Kansas.

I say that, IMO, ultra-mainstream albums like Volbeat don't need to be covered here. The music and reviews are already everywhere. Let's cover bands that don't already get the kind of exposure Volbeat is currently, deservedly, enjoying.
