This one has a little better audio. Still very much underwhelmed with the band except that singer, wow! Now I see what he meant a while back when he compared him to Mercury mixed with Dio. Highway Star

Yeah, but they sound like a good cover band and should just leave that legacy alone.

Freddie's act was genuine, he lived that shit. Lambert has a fantastic voice, no doubt about that, but his stage presence comes across like a rehearsed circus act. It's just awkward, especially next to a guy who's about 40 years older.

Singer sounds indeed good, but yikes, this drummer is no Cozy Powell or Bobby Rondinelli! Terrible.

Great record, just not really Foreigner. Should have used a different moniker.

He briefly talks about it in the Whitesnake book. Mainly because they didn't recruit a rock star vocalist with the swagger and the voice. I think he also mentioned that the material wasn't quite strong enough.

Ozzy was never Dio but he has one of the more unique voices and sounded great last night (the whole band did). Awesome gig!

Although I doubt a new album would go platinum regardless how good it is. Nobody sells that many units anymore with perhaps the exception of Adele and Taylor Swift

Are they going to pull a Scorpions by adding new final shows for the next five years? Anyway, very excited to see them tonight in Zürich!

Have you ever been invaded by race rioters? How many times were you the victim of drug-desperate killers? Seriously, if you're that afraid, you shouldn't be leaving the house at all because there's a much bigger chance getting run over by a car or hit by a tree. And even if you do get attacked by cowardly terrorists or surprised by corrupt government officials, chances are it will be too late to

That's kind of my point. Of course opinions are different, but one should be able to distance himself enough from an album and stack it against other, more classic albums before giving out a 10/10 rating. You might not rate Hysteria as high as others, and that's fine because it's your personal opinion, but it's pretty hard to argue the success and status of that album

Well, I have yet to hear a single note from this album, but I doubt it's thaaaaat good. Not even the debut, which I still rate very highly, was a 10/10 or 100% album. To me, a Back In Black or Hysteria or Van Hanlen I are 10/10 records. I'd probably give the Dare debut a 7 or 8, which is still very good. I think a professional reviewer should be able to distance him/herself a bit and look at an a

Funny, was thinking of the Jean Beauvoir comparison as well! I really like this album. Okay, it's not the monster funk rock album that Slam was. It's different in style, very rhythmic and athmospheric at times with strong melodies and a great groove throughout the entire album. Great production as well. Would have preferred a slightly stronger guitar presence.

Don, great post! I think it really depends. Generally speaking, I do like when artists/bands add their own identity to a certain sound/genre. Or when bands update a genre sound so it doesn't sound dated. One of my favorite examples is Westworld. They had all the trademarks that I love about melodic hardrock and made it sound contemporary. In fact, I think those records are pretty much timeles

Quite the storytellers there at Frontiers... ;-) Ragnar (sans the side cut) sits in Norway along a frozen river and we see images of the Hotel California. It's just sad. Clips have zero imagination, no concept whatsoever these days. I know, nobody has budget for these things anymore, but still... As for Jorn. As I mentioned in a previous post, they just go through the motions and give ever

I agree. Was a big fan of the Scandi bands back in the day, in particular bands like Talisman and Great King Rat - or who can forget Kharma? Or anything else with guys like Göran Edman, Pontus Norgren, Thomas Vikström, Leif Sundin etc. Not terribly original either, but this latest generation leaves me completely cold as well. It's just so generic and formulaic. I wish they'd try to infuse a bit

Not really excited about any of these songs to be honest. Yes, it's better than that plodding mess that his previous 3-4 albums have been, but he sings every song exactly the same way. I dug out some of his earlier stuff, in particular the Ark albums, where he sang with a lot more feel and variation. Now he gives every song the exact same heavy vocal treatment. Talking about just going through th

Nickelback are one of the best live bands out there. I've seen them on their last three tours and every time was great. They don't have a huge show or production, but the sound quality and power was incredible.

I follow Lynch and Pinnick on IG, they knocked this thing out in a couple of weeks. Really psyched as well, still play the first one a lot. Terry, I know we both like a good and clean production and that first KXM is one of the best sounding albums in years, especially the drum sound is epic.

Great photos indeed, it's really weird to see Micky Dee up there. This gig must be a vacation for him compared to the Motörhead stuff.
