melodic.net, blabbermouth, classic rock, loudwire. Although I don't visit them like I do this site on a daily basis, I subscribed them on FB and read articles that are of interest to me.

He had an outstanding year at Wolfsburg and of course played a fantastic world cup a year ago. Ridiculous fee, obviously, but he has the potential to be one of the very best in his position. For some reason he didn't get on with Mourinho, that's why he rarely played at Chelski.

Terry is a good vocalist, but Jack has such a distinct voice that it's just strange for me to hear them with another singer. It's like a different band now.

Exactly, Andrew. Their latter albums still had good songs but nowhere as consistent as those three records.

Funny, I just got the Japanese SHM remasters of "Shot In The Dark", "Once Bitten" and ."..Twice Shy". I had forgotten what a great band they were and what a great run they had with these three records. The perfect mix of polished and crunch. Next to Dokken the best Sunset Strip band for sure, at least in terms of songwriting.

Hmmm... Is it just me or does this sound a lot like Mr. Big? Not a bad song by any means, but it lacks the groove that the first album had. A bit too frantic, a bit too showing off their chops. Hope the rest of the album is more like the debut. Oblivion

Well, if they're ever going to write again, Izzy is the key factor. Not sure, though, if he would come back although he's still good friends with Duff.

Man, love his guitar sound on The Ledge, so tasty, which might turn out my favorite track. Lovely chorus too.

Awesome, awesome record. The tracks you listed are my faves too plus the epic Sanctuary. But what a groove on Dirty Money!

Hmmm... Usually love everything he does, but this one has a bit too much banjo and violins for my taste...

Haha, it's just that we seem to be in agreement on so many other bands, but here you're way off and basically saying Brent Smith sounds like Chad Kroeger, which of course is a bit like saying Jon Bon Jovi sounds like Steve Perry. ;-)

Hmmm, not so sure. Nowhere Land was the last Slamer release I truly enjoyed and still play on a regular basis. The Chris Ousey and Overland solo albums he played on and produced didn't do much for me. Can't really explain why, perhaps because I prefer Terry Brock to sing his stuff.

Terry, you were doing so well for so long, but on this I agree with Mike. Shinedown sound like Nickelback like Bon Jovi sound like Journey.

I agree. Their songwriting never drops beyond a certain level, but I doubt this tune got the legs to stick around for a while.

Another disappointment. I'm afraid the modern rock genre is done for the most part. Liked their firt two albums, the staring with Onyx it all went downhill.

Quite possibly the worst song he's ever done.

It' a grower for sure, definitely a bit darker and not quite as straight forward as the two latest ones. Took me a while but I rate it very highly as well, although Kip Winger has never really disappointed me. Still one of the very best songwriters out there.

It's econmoics. Mick Jones might have made a fortune, the other guys haven't. Recording a new album costs money and they spend time away from the road where they can make money. It's that simple. Not to mention that new songs don't sell as much as repackaging the old hits. All of these guys are fairly old where it's all about milking this thing for as long as they possibly can. Every night they d

I don't get the U2/Coldplay references either, but I think it's because these are two of the most hated bands in MHR circles. At this point it seems Jovi can't win no matter what they do, people either complain about their "modern" sound or when they do deliver something hooky and big sounding like "We Don't Run", they think it sounds derived, especially lyrically. That mi

For the same reason people hated Bon Jovi back in the day. They never denied their brand of arena rock and certainly have a formula they stick by - and at least it's a formula they've developed themselves and countless other bands have been copying it ever since. I love them too, especially live, and give them a lot of credit for not taking themselves too seriously and even go along with the joke

I heard that too. Interestingly enough, he mentions in the same clip that they wrote "Saturday..." about eight years ago, which would be slightly prior to Nickelback releasing "Gotta Be Somebody".

I doubt it. He wrote the songs himself, so it's a "legit" solo album. The few sound snippets sound promising.

Name me any of their signature songs? I've listened to their albums and couldn't find anything memorable or outstanding that I will still listen to in 5, 10 and more years. They're good bands, no doubt, but they simply rehash what the originators of that sound did much better 30 years ago.
