Been cranking this thing almost nonstop for the past week. Huge album!

Rescue You is great. The following solo records were a bit too bluesy for me and I always hoped he'd record another classic AOR record. The two Sunstorm albums, although they're very AOR, do absolutely nothing for me. Don't know why, they're just very generic and dated sounding.

No offense to the people involved, but this can't be the final product? The clips sound like demos.

Great stuff, absolutely love the first album - a total classic. Would love to see this released as well.

Totally overrated coach. He never left a visible mark on that team. So much talent and they played like crap all year season long. Even last year, they didn't win convincingly, it was pretty much ManU stumbling and handing them the title in the last couple of games.

I listened to some of the JLT Rainbow stuff last night and was once again blown away by how good it is. As I mentioned before, "Dig" is a solid record, but Stuart Smith will never reach Blackmore's songwriting level. For me, the only guy who came close in terms of hooks and melodies was Nikolo Kotzev.

Been going nuts on rock biographies ever since I bought a Kindle. Reading Pearcy's book right now, also finished Malmsteen, Blotzer, Slash, Vince Neil and Duff McKagan. Was really impressed with Duff's book. Very well written and he focuses less on the partying and rock star stuff and more on the transformation from being a junkie to where he is today as a musician and successful business man. Ve

The new DP blows the new H&E out of the water. Stuart Smith has a great band, no doubt about it, but they will always be a second rate JLT Rainbow.

Finally got my Japanese copy and love it! It's just a great old school rock record with a huge sound and huge guitars. Songs are very good for the most part, but the album is perhaps 2-3 tunes too long. I really hope they get to tour a bit, would be a shame if they don't.

That'd be cool, I love that record (and should get the Japanese remaster in a couple of weeks). I just think Schon has bigger songwriting chops, so this could be very exciting.

Yep, same here. Listened to it on spotify a few times. Some good tracks, but too many fillers. Also, I think I like the new Purple so much because it sounds fresh. Stuart Smith sticks to the same old DP/Rainbow formula without ever coming close to the quality of the original.

Reading his biography right now. Fairly interesting. He mentions that he doesn't feel comfortable in social situations.

Keith is definitely an acquired taste. When the first record came out, I struggled with his voice, but the songs and Doug's playing really make up for it. Love the big sound on the new one!

Yes, great sounding record. After about three complete spins, I think it's by far the best since "Perfect Strangers", overall I might like this one even more because of its diversity. Also, this album is probably Don Airey's finest hour. The guy is all over this thing and his involvement might very well be the reason for the revitalized sound.

Actually, that's my main problem with guys like Kotzen and Sheehan. I always feel the focus is on displaying their chops rather than coming up with really good songs. That first Winery Dogs song is too busy for me. Why not let it breath a bit?

Huge fan as well. I love just about everything he's done: Lion, Bad Moon Rising (with Lion pal Karl Swan), Burning Rain and of course WS. Also, his two solo instrumental albums are really worth getting. He's a bit like Satriani and always put a lot of emphasis on melodies. Finally, the Hurricane album he played on, Slave To The Thrill, is highly recommended too,

Frankly, I find both of these new songs incredibly boring. If the rest is as plodding, I'll pass.

Yes, great record, it's just that Shirley completely butchered the sound of this thing.

Anybody else picked this one up? A bit strange, the volume is waaay down and the sound quality slightly muffled, at least compared to the main menu. Even the youtub clip seems to be of better quality.

Yeah, same here. They weren't much on my radar until recently. Really like the new record, although the vocals are a bit of an acquired taste.

Terrible. Same old plodding stuff that goes absolutely nowhere. I'm a huge Jorn fan, aways been, but his last three or four solo outings bore the life out of me. There's zero inspiration, just a guy (and his band) that goes through the motions. Perhaps he needs to take a bit of break to get his creative juices flowing again.
