It's a bit like drinking bad coffee, after a while you think it's actually pretty good ;-) Frontiers et al have conditioned you folks to muddy mixes with drums completely burried in the back. It's once you listen to other genres, like the blues, that you realize that there are records where you can actually distinguish every instrument.

By today's standards this is a great sounding record. And that's the exactly the problem, at least in this genre.

Yeah, mail does get lost sometime, but there are providers that have a very good track record when it comes to deliveries, especially CD Japan and just about everything else that comes out of Japan including private sellers. Also, they always pack the stuff properly.

For the first minute or so I thought it's Joe Elliot singing sans the DL sonic quality. Feels like listening through a wet towel.

For some reason they're about the only Scandi AOR band I can take right now. They aren't quite as over-the-top cheese as all the others.

It's a bit of a boring release. I think theses things only make sense if you bring something new, perhaps a new setlist or something. Also, what happened to the performance of Pyromania in its entirety that they wanted to do in Vegas as well?

What else should he play? His solo stuff? People want him to do Mötley for sure

Did they ever track outside North America? Don't think so. Another 80's band that could have had a much better career had they invested some time touring Europe back in the day.

Terry, I'm surprised you don't take issue with the sonic quality of their latest 3-4 releases.

Most records are too long in terms of number of songs.

Really digging this one, sounds rather fresh. But once again: Where are the keys? That's the only thing that's missing.

Firebirth is a total turd. Their weakest by a mile.

Yes, it's a grower. But the album as a whole would work much better had they cut 4-5 tracks. It's a real problem with just about every new release. There's no A&R anymore, bands/labels dump every fart recorded on their albums.

Well, I'm sure it won't be sounding anything like Jovi or melodic rock, I think both are more into the bluesy side of rock and that's what the record will most likely sound like.

It's never a good idea to introduce a new song as a live version. But knowing that Bob Rock produced this album it could actually sound great in the studio version. It's about time they release this thing.

It's actually a good idea because they make money through youtube advertising, which I'm sure is more than they get from spotify.

I saw Bon Jovi released their fourth or fifth clip from their latest album, Metallica released a clip for just about every song on their new album as well. And it seems they're dumping them almost all at once. Is this a new trend? What's the strategy behind it? I know that a lot of kids either stream or listen to music on youtube, so that makes sense. Could this be sort of a new "album forma

Cannot wait for this album to drop! How refreshing is it to hear a song that's not compressed as hell and were youn can clearly hear every instrument?!

I find the song cheesy as hell as is most of the post-Survivor stuff that Peterik has been writing. The video clip makes it even more cringeworthy. But I'm glad it's getting so much love here. ;-)

They have that Papa Roach/Skillet vibe going. Some good songs for sure, some fillers too and perhaps a tad generic.

It's a shame they can't patch things up. They had an incredible run with those first four albums.

Yeah, SOD is their best album. Good stuff. Remember seeing them at the Gods ages ago and they were very good, nice guys too. They have that typical "Jersey sound" and I mean that as a compliment.

I don't think it's a problem because they're not a political band. Besides, they're mostly appealing to the people who elected Trump anyway.

Yes, terrible song selection. And their version of The House Of The Rising Sun (another cover I never want to hear again) is IMHO absolutely atrocious. The House Of The Rising Sun
