Guys.... Thank you very much for the responses....I think this is the 5th. best song on the record but it was an appropriate first preview...I wanted a song where the guitars were a bit on fire, as my son has become a monster....and, where the melody of the song represented Mecca and our Journey of 17 years together....Shannon put his heart and soul into this record....and I could not be happi

My 2 cents.... A producer is VERY important as well as: The band is unable to come to consensus on anything! The band does not have a guy who is capable... The band is looking for a specific sound they can't reach... The bands songs are not fully developed... And many many other reasons... In my case Mecca 1 and 2 were radically different because Jimmy P produced Mecca 1 and I did

I guess I will ask again for some clarification... -------many people question TD's self promoted "resume".....let's just vet his own websites information....by doing so it can't be construed it's someone else's words....or a mistype??? Lots and lots of mistypes???? And btw....had he not sent all the vile and vitriolic emails to Luke, myself and Andrew I would not have bothered li

Hey Rum.... My 2cents.... First off Bobby was pushing 60 and the material is very challenging....so yes, he was a weak link....the harmonies need that root of the lead vocal, and if he is not singing the choruses then they got problems...JW now is dead on....smokin...problem solved and NO disrespect to Bobby, the guy is 68 and still out playing....but JW is vastly superior....Greg Philingai

No!!! Luke would not dig it....you guys need to know he only wants what the FANS want!!! They are signed to Frontiers for THIS record...so they have to do what Frontiers wants, and play ball the way they want!!! Luke does records because that's what the FANS want...he travels 9 months a year away from his family and little one's because that's his job...and he believes his boss is YOU guys!!! S

Hey... I worked with Joey on about half of them, and half are all him....BUT, this is NOT Mecca...it is crushingly powerful and honest ROCK...I guarantee they play with more energy and intensity than any other band this weekend....they are young kids who don't know better yet....the music world can be scary....but they are too busy trying to kick ass..... That isn't a Dad talking....Thats a

Hey Guys... 7th is a phenomenon here in Chicago...I.E. they played a Concert in the park last week, I stopped by....the average band pulls a few hundred local folks out to see Free music in the park.....7th drew over 3,000 and some people could not even see them but just hear them, and they stayed....they play over 200 shows a year to over a million people....yes, a million... I used to get

Well it wasn't that hard as we are all very close friends and have been doing music together 15 years....Mecca is more than a band...it becomes family... And...Shannon and David will be literally fresh off their tour with Toto as their rhythm section...so I am SURE some Toto will be in the books...BUT I WON'T sing Toto stuff without Toto being there out of respect....but, I am sure I can get J

Hey.... I just got out of the studio here in Nashville and we literally were discussing this earlier with Hungate and Shannon Forrest.... Protools...digital is EASIER THAN ANALOG....BUT, is inferior sound quality wise by a TON...those saying digital sounds better are uneducated as to what sonics actually are... Analog is way MORE expensive but the sonic improvement is such that it is wor

Christian was the man....seriously... He kicked Mecca II into gear with me and was a great collaborator....he did a masterful job playing on Mecca II and also live at MRfest2...the two weeks he stayed with me were a blast... I feel horrible for his wife...his one year old son that will never know the wonderful splendor that was his Dad... I am personally very set back by this...I lost Dr

Thanks Gooch!!! I never pushed him into music, but instead I just supported whatever he wanted to do...when music became that passion I was more than thrilled...playing MRfest3 with him was a blast...and the crowd was so supportive...other genres may be bigger, but this genre has the nicest most loyal fan base of any for sure...looking forward to MRFest 4!!!!!! Thanks again!!! JV
