You must get extremely frustrated when you have to direct people to the front page from the noticeboard. I would like to throw a very serious idea at you. Why not make the noticeboard impervious from the internet and only reachable from the bottom of the front page. This would get everyone to see the front page on a daily basis (which is what they ought to be doing anyway). Just a thought

Off the top of my head, I like Linda Ronstadt's version of "Girls Talk" much better than Elvis Costello's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQGzsJFdBEI

But I don't want to be banned... I just want to know what peoples favorite vocal solos are. The one Shade posted is awesome! Why not get on board with that and post your favorite vocal solo?

Doesn't anyone have a favorite "vocal" solo? What about 157 Riverside Avenue by REO? There are some great solos out there!

It's not just you; it's me too. That's about the same way I view Toto but maybe only 2 amazing songs an album and the rest don't grab me. I do see the appeal though for people that like a lot of bells and whistles in their music. I like a little bit of balls and whistles, but I really just want to sing along.

When I think of cd's that are truly full of "hooks", I think of these: Jimi Jamison - Never Too Late The Outfield - Play Deep Rick Springfield - Songs For The End Of The World Survivor - Vital Signs Vertical Horizon - Echoes From The Underground Toto does a thing that I like to call "going off at the instruments" Rush and Dream Theater also do this a lot. While th

I am with you Deflep! I like the hits for the most part but when I delved deeper into the album tracks, the songs just didn't grab me. Of course I respect the musicianship, but for me I need bigger hooks than Toto usually put out. Other than their hits, they don't have many hooks. I have a total of 15 of their songs on my ipod and that is after sampling every song they have on ITunes. But I will

What really stinks for me is that the first 3 festivals, there were several artists that I wanted to see such as Alias, Glen Burtnik, JSS, ect... but I was going through a rough patch and didn't have the money. Now I am doing well financially again but there is no one on the list that inspires me enough to spend the money. Mitch Malloy is a draw for me but not for a 700 mile trek and 1000 dol

For me to go, there would have to be some nostalgic acts there as they are my favorites. They did it first and they did it best in my opinion. However, I am completely ignorant on what it takes to put on a festival like that financially and logistically so I don't know what it takes to get acts like Winger and Augeri.

"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" by Elton John - I didn't hear the Beatles version til years later and realized it was first. Also thought "Fantasy" by Aldo Nova was an original song until I heard "Jane" by Jefferson Starship and found out it came out 3 years earlier.

Leppard had way too many effects on Joe's voice and it ruined their show for me.

I am also going. I never met Jimi in person but we corresponded through emails since the late 90's. I really hate that this happened. He was such a genuine soul.

I hope by "safe", you mean extremely catchy melodies with well written lyrics and great singing.

I knew it was sarcasm. Mine was sarcasm also in it's own way. Just my way of deflecting his attempt to start some crap with me. "I was playing dumb" :)

Balls aren't a deal breaker for me. As long as it catches my ear, has good melodies and interesting parts, I will like just about any style of music. 7th Heaven has a great style and whatever they may be lacking in balls, they make up for with the entire package.

Upon reading Andrew's review of Spectrum, I went to ITunes and listened to several sound samples. Definitely picking this one up! Great stuff!

I have been appalled with Rick's behavior for the last 5 years or so. It's the most clear case of forgetting your roots and not giving a damn about your fans that I have ever seen.

Judging the overall body of material for both entities, I have to say that I enjoy Michael's solo stuff better than Stryper. Does anyone else feel that way?

You won't believe this probably, but in real life, I come off as adorable! :) I think it would help if you acted like you enjoyed my posts more. People tend to follow their leaders. I am not sure if you have a grasp on just how much power you really have over the melodic rock community! You are looked up to by so many! If you say something sucks, many will agree just because of who you are.

They formed in 2008 so it wouldn't have been any farther back than that. So it must have been another noticeboard that you talked about them on because Andrew would have had no reason to delete a "Hey Monday" thread.

I always like at least 6 or 7 songs from every Avril cd. Avril is actually what led me to "Hey Monday". I was watching her videos this morning. She did the song "How You Love Me Now" and it brought up Hey Monday's version. Hey Monday actually did the song first and better in my opinion.

Thanks WITS. That's really cool! Apparently she won "The Voice" after the demise of this band. She is really great. I know what I will be listening to for the next couple of weeks!

This is a really awesome band that apparently arrived in 2008 and disappeared in 2011! I did a search and they have never been discussed on the board. So, I am excited to be the first! Check out these three samples and then go buy all their stuff! :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzBruRwBltE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KC4RSkm2vj0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FU0fQIezoK0

I just got back from Chick Fil A with breakfast and the guy actually said "Have a nice day". They have said "my pleasure" on many occasions though so I am not sure if that is true or not. If it is, the guy I saw this morning broke the rules.
