I almost said Ed Sheeran's latest cd "x", but as great as it is, it has 2 stinkers on it so it doesn't meet the criteria of your thread. I always try to stick to the rules! :)

I totally agree that SFTEOTW is a perfect cd from start to finish! But the most recent one for me is Taylor Swift - 1989 This thing starts out with "Welcome To New York" which is a masterpiece and then just fires one bullet after another of all outstanding songs. I even have the version with 3 bonus track and they are all great as well! That's 16 awesome songs in all!

"Most fans" is argumentative. You cannot prove that. I respect your opinion though and we can agree to disagree.

Terry, you are under the mistaken impression that anything new that Styx does these days is in any way relevant. They are strictly a nostalgia band now and what direction DDY was going in 30 years ago makes no difference. I have heard that "show tunes" reference so many times and it always makes me laugh. Dennis has "NEVER" tried to bring in songs in the vein of Liza Minnelli!

Good bad or indifferent DDY is the reason the other guys can make money playing under the STYX banner. And yes TS is a star in his own right but not the driving force of STYX BINGO! And this is why the Styx situation is the most unfair of any situation out there. They are excluding the guy that brought them to the prom...

Hey Bob, I don't consider Styx a tribute band because they still have Tommy but they are a band that is not whole in my opinion when they easily could be if not for grudges and ego's. I know the history of Styx very well and I know Dennis was a complete ASS maybe even bordering on tyrant at times when he had complete control in the late 70/early 80's but I also believe that there is good an

Hey Terry, just because I don't like the Lawrence Gowen era of Styx or the Arnel Pinada era of Journey doesn't make me narrow minded. I was very open to Jeff Scott Soto fronting Journey and even went and saw them live in 2007. I am also on board with Hansen in Foreigner since Lou is physically not able to sing like he used to. I am on board with Adam Lambert in Queen since he fits so w

I agree that it would be great if they played more songs and possibly some deep cuts but why does everyone keep calling the following songs boring? That is one kick ass list of songs and I love every one of them... How many bands can play a list of hits of this quality? Only a handful for sure... RAMSAY I have been watching this thread and I can't take it anymore. The reason they chose Adam is not because of a popularity contest. It is because the guy has a voice that can cover all of Freddy's material, he has a stage presence comparable to Freddy (flamboyant) and his popularity after idol probably comes in a distant 3rd to those 2 things. While JSS could have done it vocally, in

You must get extremely frustrated when you have to direct people to the front page from the noticeboard. I would like to throw a very serious idea at you. Why not make the noticeboard impervious from the internet and only reachable from the bottom of the front page. This would get everyone to see the front page on a daily basis (which is what they ought to be doing anyway). Just a thought

Off the top of my head, I like Linda Ronstadt's version of "Girls Talk" much better than Elvis Costello's. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQGzsJFdBEI

It's not just you; it's me too. That's about the same way I view Toto but maybe only 2 amazing songs an album and the rest don't grab me. I do see the appeal though for people that like a lot of bells and whistles in their music. I like a little bit of balls and whistles, but I really just want to sing along.

When I think of cd's that are truly full of "hooks", I think of these: Jimi Jamison - Never Too Late The Outfield - Play Deep Rick Springfield - Songs For The End Of The World Survivor - Vital Signs Vertical Horizon - Echoes From The Underground Toto does a thing that I like to call "going off at the instruments" Rush and Dream Theater also do this a lot. While th

I am with you Deflep! I like the hits for the most part but when I delved deeper into the album tracks, the songs just didn't grab me. Of course I respect the musicianship, but for me I need bigger hooks than Toto usually put out. Other than their hits, they don't have many hooks. I have a total of 15 of their songs on my ipod and that is after sampling every song they have on ITunes. But I will

What really stinks for me is that the first 3 festivals, there were several artists that I wanted to see such as Alias, Glen Burtnik, JSS, ect... but I was going through a rough patch and didn't have the money. Now I am doing well financially again but there is no one on the list that inspires me enough to spend the money. Mitch Malloy is a draw for me but not for a 700 mile trek and 1000 dol

For me to go, there would have to be some nostalgic acts there as they are my favorites. They did it first and they did it best in my opinion. However, I am completely ignorant on what it takes to put on a festival like that financially and logistically so I don't know what it takes to get acts like Winger and Augeri.

"Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" by Elton John - I didn't hear the Beatles version til years later and realized it was first. Also thought "Fantasy" by Aldo Nova was an original song until I heard "Jane" by Jefferson Starship and found out it came out 3 years earlier.

Balls aren't a deal breaker for me. As long as it catches my ear, has good melodies and interesting parts, I will like just about any style of music. 7th Heaven has a great style and whatever they may be lacking in balls, they make up for with the entire package.
