The only problem with that band is that the singer did nothing to look like Brian Johnson whereas the guy from "Who Made Who" dressed the part and tried to mimic Brian's mannerisms as best he could. Seemed like more of an effort...

Not to get off on another topic but Pinada and Hansen for all their talent cannot copy Perry and Gramm perfectly. I can pick out who's who within seconds. They are close but not perfect copies. You may be as close as they are for all I know. Send me a private email with a link to some of your stuff. I would never expose it to anyone else here if you didn't want me to. I am just curious as h

Hey Terry, I have been hearing you talk about your singing abilities for years on the board. I have always wanted to hear you or see a video. Can you not get someone to record some songs for us to hear on the board? Anyone that can mimic Gramm and Perry needs to be seen!

And the John Elefante song, "On My Way To The Sun" is really great as well! Of all the really well known artists on the cd, "JOhn Elefante, Journey, Toto, Mitch Malloy, and Jimi Jamison", I think John has the best song by a mile.

After a few more listens to "Better Days", I have to say that this one has really jumped out as a front runner of my favorite songs on the cd. It is such a sweet song! Beautiful vocal performance. It gives me the same feeling that Saigon Kick's "I Love You" gives me. It's just gorgeous! Also still loving Romeo's Daughter!

In about a year from now there is going to be a phone call made from Phil Ehart to Ronnie Platt that will be right out of "The Wizard of Oz" Hey Ronnie "You're not in Kansas anymore" LOL

Ok, he doesn't suck. His voice was more suited for that kind of material. But Steve Walsh has balls in his tone whereas Rik Emmett does not. Plus even with that, Pratt cracked a few times. I seriously can't picture him singing the Kansas catalogue for any length of time. His thin voice is gonna explode trying to sound like Walsh.

As you sit there and wrongly judge Dennis, why don't you take a listen to this 65 year old man sing this song perfectly and then top it off by holding a note on key for 20 seconds at the 2:24 mark... Yeah, I don't know why any band would want this guy as their front man. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfSplgHTPbA

And this Platt guy has zero balls to his voice - I'm surprised everyone is singing his praises (or maybe I'm not) - I keep it real even (and especially with) a band I love. I am not singing his praises. I think he sucks. And I also don't think anyone has ever mimicked Brad Delp to a "t" as it is not possible. Fran Cosmo came the closest though.

It is sad that Dennis DeYoung is not taking over the vocals for Kansas. I guess they didn't want to spend any real money for a well known vocalist/keyboardist. I just listened to some youtube clips of Platt and I am pretty unimpressed. His voice was too thin in the clips I heard. Dennis couldn't have sang Walsh to perfection either but he could get a lot closer than this guy.

You know what is so cool about Rik Emmett? Everything! I have always said he is the most talented guitarist/singer combination in rock history. I can only imagine what it must be like to be able to go over a fret board so effortlessly. And then to be able to sing with such an incredible range. Rik is the man indeed!

SF, this is MelodicMax's discovery. I was just agreeing with him and others that the guy is a great guitarist. I apologize if I come across as a know it all sometimes. It's a difficult line to walk for a person that has all the answers to fit in with regular people. I really am trying though so please be patient with me. :)
