I would do a speed-check first, to see if it isn't an ISP problem. Then I would suggest some good old clean up, plenty of freeware around that will do the job. And check how many programs you've got running in the background when you start up the laptop. Plenty of those (mostly activated or installed unattended) can be stopped when you adjust your settings. ...guys like me, doing 40+, have a hard time dealing all the new genres of rock/metal? I used to be open minded whenever a guitar was involved, so going with whatever was 'new'.
