Not sure how much of an actual genre "modern rock" is?I suppose we all use it to define a more up to date take on classic rock, but is it actually used outside of AOR/classic circles?Probably the type of music I enjoy most at the moment with favourite bands such as Skillet,Anberlin,Hinder,Shinedown and Alter Bridge. To me it's a more up to date take on the music of my past keeping all the

Sounds a fun night but I can't imagine how shows like this can ever think of making any money. You would have to be pretty "in the know" to even realise who was playing and with no original material to promote you wonder why they flew half way around the world? Is that Heaven And Earth tour sold out yet?

Following the recent Kiss threads I always see Hot In The Shade being knocked by most.It is my favourite Kiss album and I always champion it to anyone who will listen.Upon release I remember it getting pretty strong reviews and being regarded as a real return to form.I think Silver Spoon,King Of Hearts,Street Giveth,Betrayed and Love Me To Hate You are some of the band's best ever songs and only

Interestingly I went along to the box office and bought tickets for the Black Stone Cherry tour over the counter and there was no booking fee whatsoever for an arena show.Tickets for the 3 band show were £25 each which made a huge difference not paying any of the nonsense charges and made the show a real bargain.

Probably confused the bonus tracks for the second album but think Goin' Down was recorded with Oni so would have been nice on the WS remaster.

Was listening to it the other day and thought it sounded great,be interesting to hear if it can be improved.Seems a shame Rock Candy aren't throwing in many bonus tracks with their releases these days as I'm sure there are couple of non album tracks from Wicked Sensation floating around.

Really enjoying this so far, it's got quite a Little Angels feel to some of the songs which is not surprising as Toby had a big hand in it.

Got this yesterday but haven't listened to it yet,Gus is one of the few modern guitarists who can really measure up to the classics so should be good.

Think Lick It Up is a classic with no filler,Hot In The Shade is my favourite Kiss album, love every song apart from the last which is just an inferior version of No No No from Crazy Nights.

Picked this up last week as I'd got tickets to see them in May,and wow what a great album. Was only familiar with A Place In The Sun and Atomic but when did they become so "melodic rock"?A couple of tracks are not far off Def Leppard!

Never been to Download, was wondering whether all the bands get a good crowd watching them as can't imagine a band like Winger appealing to what I would consider the standard Download crowd.Always love the fact that at Sweden Rock pretty much every band plays to a packed audience and everyone is happy no matter what genre of rock is being played.

Seems a bit of a strange post to attack the fans who were going to buy tickets to these shows even if they thought the venues were a bit ambitious. We are the same people who are regularly stung by buying tickets to shows that are cancelled all the time, the House Of Lords/Robin Beck shows being a recent example.
