Yeah, he is a really good friend. He and my husband grew up together and have been friends all their lives. To me, he's like the annoying brother that I never had. If I need or want for anything, he and his wife are among the 1st to help. They're like family, so we bitch/fight like family. LOL! Debbie

Yeah, sometimes it is as simple as people viewing them as 'uncool'. I get ridiculed and criticized repeatedly by a friend of mine for taking my son to see Winger. His only rationale for chastising the band is, "Beavis & Butthead." So, he is basing his judgement solely on a cartoon's fictional characters (portrayed as idiots, mind you) and their teasing of a short pudgy kid's

I can't tell you how many shows I've had pass on because they occurred during the week. :-( Having to wake up at about 6:15am and not getting home until about 7pm usually squashes any chance of me being able to go. I still haven't been able to catch an Adrenaline Mob show, despite them being in the area a handful of times. However, for the last 3 years, I have the added problem of having to

Hey, Warrior21, I was there, too, with my 10 year old son and a friend of mine. My son loves their album and knows every word! This was the 2nd time that I saw them (1st being last August at BB King's) and I agree that this show was better, too... If that was even possible. Fantastic musicians! I also agree, Nik! Those 3 really mesh together well and their sound is different enough to

Sorry this got obscenely long, but I haven’t posted here in quite a long time, so I’m making up for it now, I suppose. LOL! BEST: Joe Lynn Turner - Met him a handful of times now and he has always been gracious, witty, & genuinely appreciative toward me. The 1st time was my favorite: I brought a stack of CD booklets with me of various projects/bands that he'd been involved with duri

Ooo, this is one I'd love to take my 10 year old son to! Hopefully, they'll have a weekend date in my area. Thanks, for the heads up on this, Ken. Been a while since I've been here and I haven't sought out any shows yet for summer. Debbie

Gill, that definitely would be grand, wouldn't it? Unfortunately, most of the shows that I do want to see in the NY/NJ area aren't on the weekends, so they've been much harder for me to get to. The only solo show that I got to see of Jeff's was 2 days before the 1st Melodic Rock Fest and we had to freakin' drive to Buffalo, NY to see it! I made sure that I was front & center, so it was

Yes, Asa, but in a whole other context... Oh, did you mean musically? Haha! In all honesty, I haven't gotten around to scoping out much new music over the past couple of years (at least), so I haven't heard the W.E.T. releases, nor Damage Control. I know... Blasphemy! I'm SO ashamed. :-( Debbie

I must chime in, as well, as this is indeed a very kind gesture toward a fellow fan and board member. :-) The cost of airfare, hotel, & the need to have someone care for my son over the weekend are my reasons for not going myself... Certainly NOT because I'm not dying to go. :-( So sorry you have to miss it due to business reasons. Debbie

When I originally bought the tickets, they were listing Papa Roach as being on the bill, not Sevendust. We had seen PR out with Shinedown last year (along with Adelitas Way) and my son loved them. I haven't heard a lick of Sevendust yet (that I know of anyway), so I'm hoping that I'll dig them (will be doing 'research' on them this week). Going with a bunch of my girls (& one of their

Not having much to go on, I am still reserving my final opinion until I have enough to base it on. So far, I am digging what I've heard (albeit limited), therefore the research begins. Hey, if we all liked the same thing, life would be boring as Hell. Debbie

I understood Jon's comment as he considers Richie to be nothing special to the sound of Bon Jovi, while he considers The Edge to be crucial to U2's sound. Hence, why I call 'bullshit!' to Jon's statement, if Jon is indeed using Richie's recorded vocals in their shows. Refusing to fork over the shopping bag full of cash in order to attend a BJ show myself (that's pretty much what it takes to

Normally I don't reply to this sort of thing, because I don't know Jack shit about technique, tone, etc. (i.e., musician 'speak'), but I ran into a friend who saw the recent Bon Jovi show in NJ and she had $350 seats on the floor in the 1st few rows (I'm told that the pit cost $500+), so she could see the stage quite well. She said that she kept hearing Richie's voice (background vocals) thr

Nah, I get what you're saying, Andy. Too much 'fret-wankery' starts to bore me, too. I get that they want to show off & all, but it gets old after a while for someone who is not a musician and probably unable to truly appreciate their prowess. I can appreciate that sort of thing to an extent, but I tire of it after a while. I find that I appreciate that sort of thing more if I'm watch
