No comparison between the two, the debut is a classic the follow up was not!

I agree with you about this is a poor show all round with all the overdubbing BUT not sure your example is a very good one to use as an comparison!!! Viva Hysteria is very much overdubbed and the sound very processed and polished, one of the worst I have ever heard. There are many far better truly live albums about that could have been held up as an example of what a live album should sound like

Spot on. Both Ronnie and Jens are definitely 'up' for the task but that pitiful rhythm section is an embarrassment.

Havent seen any posts about this new one, but after not being impressed by the last few Bonfire releases, I am really enjoying this. Wasn't expecting much but the new singer fits the music well and there are some cracking songs all through the album. Their best release in many years, for me.

First half of the record is strong and I was impressed but for me, it tails off alarmingly in the second half.

Really getting into this release after initally not being totally "blown away" by it. I also think the second half of the album is by far the strongest half, which is a nice change as more often than not, albums are very much front loaded with the best songs. One or two more spins and I reckon it will totally click :)

Virtually every "official" live album these days have pitch enhancement and overdubs added to them (and many far more blatant and obvious than this one...uhmm Def Leppards "Viva Hysteria" anyone?!!) so can't really see the need for much surprise or debate about this release. Lets just (finally) enjoy a live Treat release, as one has been long overdue for this great band.

I don't have any real issues with people using cameras to take a few pics during a gig at all. My biggest hate is when the p*** heads who have been at the bar all evening (when the support bands are on) think its their rights to push through the crowd to the front or near the front of the stage about 2 minutes before the headliners start their gig. Those who have stood their ground and "endur

His solos stuff IS heavier than th NMB stuff but as well as some shredding there are also some good clean melodic stuff and catchy harmonies. Can't decribe it any other way than I did before, a perfect DT/NMB mix :)

I'm sure all of Neal's fans alrady know just how brilliant Eric Gillette is but until very recently I wasn't aware that he had put out a couple of solo albums too. Have just got hold of last years "The Great Unknown" and if you would like to hear a perfect mix between Neal Morse and Dream Theater, then I can very highly recommend this indeed. Will search out his first release now too.

Loved this band back in the day and their performance at Firefest a few years ago (considering it was the first gig back together for many years) was absolutely spot on. The singer (sorry don't remember his name) still had an amazing voice. Highly recommended if you enjoy the 80's style of melodic hard rock/metal/AOR

Having heard Don Dokken "live" recently, I'm more stoked about hearing the local feral cat sing than him!!

The tracks I've heard so far have been good so reckon this could be their best release a long long time if the other songs live up to them. One thing though, WHY (apart from a rip off!!) is it a DOUBLE album when the total time of the music is only 77 1/2 mins?!!!

Very fair points there Terry, the "over hype" probably did make my expectations a little too high and therefore I may be being a little too critical of it. I think the "Overture" is a brilliant and very DT-esque beginning to the record and the 4 pre released songs are all top notch. To be fair, all the times I've listened to it so far, it HAS been as background music whilst I

Guys, big NM fan here and have been looking forward to this release for a logn time. Have played it three times now and I am slightly disappointed with it I'm afraid.IF there hadnt had been such major hype about it being the album of their career etc then I think I would have been very happy, but bearing in mind all the hype, I am left feeling a little "meh" about it in general. Don'

First saw Delain live back in 2009 (possibly one of the first times they played in the Uk?) and it was OBVIOUS that a) Charlotte was a HUGE talent and b) the band would go on to much bigger and better things. Have now seen them live many times and have never once failed to be amazed at their live shows. Off to Norwich on Tuesday, can't wait :)

Career long fan here, attended dozens of their live gigs throughout the UK and Europe, but sadly this album bores me to tears. Listened intently to it several times when it was released to see if I could "get it" but it did nothing for me at all and I really don't think I will EVER listen to it again. From what I've heard so far, the new Neal Morse record will utterly delete "The

I do agree with you this is another very catchy and strong album (apart from the utterly dreadful "single" appropriately called "That Song!!") from this band. Recommended.

Spot on Peter, its utterly embarrassing the "squeaky noise" that emits from his mouth now when he attempts to sing live :( Still, whilst there's still enough gullible people out there who continue to turn up to watch up a singer that sounds like a strangled cat, then who can blame him raking in the money by carrying on!!
