Sounds like a good swap to me. More chance now of hearing something other than the dirgy "nu - emo - hardcore" rubbish that Kerrang plays for 99% of the time.

The Albania song was much better and heavier than the Armenian one (which was OK). Gone are the days of "Lordi" winning it, I fear!

Thought it was going to say that "David Coverdale admits that he can't sing anymore"!!....don't know which from either the actual quote in the title of this thread, or my "imagined" one, is the most truthful! Both are pretty obvious, I would have thought!

Oh you will, definately. Its SO much better than the last couple of studio albums that to my ears, were barely listenable to. This release is the best thing they've done for many many years.

I agree 100% with the OP. They still do "rock" at their live gigs but their releases are now about as exciting and "rocky" as a bowl of custard. They have turned into a middle age housewifes favourite band with their boring jangly guitar middle of the road music. Very sad, but I guess they know where the money is made.

Got to concur with the comments in here. This is definately their best release since the "initial break up" all those years ago now. There's not a poor track on the whole release and as others have said, it has 4 or 5 really strong songs on there. Highly recommended.

Yes, I have their debut? CD "Bringer of Light" and it was in my personal Top 10 of 2012. Highly recommended.

Agree with you Brent. It doesnt really grab me (yet) but it certainly sounds so much better than the pure "Tate lead" dross that the band have put out for the last 10 years.File it under "promising".

Hehe...that just about sums up how sad and boring they've become in the last 10 years!!

Uhmmm....they're not "symphonic metal" in the slightest BUT I do agree with you about her voice. In fact I reckon she is better than the overated (I.M.O.) Hale.

Why on earth do they want a second guitarist, when the guitars on their music are becoming more and more annoyingly "jangly" and less prominant? A sad shadow of the band they used to be :(

Pleasant little middle of the road, song. Could be from any of dozens of easy listening bands though. Where the f... has the "rock" gone from this once great band though? Their decline into "radio 2" type housewife music, is very very sad.

I love the disco version too, mainly because of the little dance that Simone does to it!! ;) P.S.Great review Woody :)

They actually introduced what they call as the "disco" version of TPA on their tour in 2011. Its great fun and is only lasts for about 20 secs of the song during two of the versus, so it certainly doesnt "spoil" what is an amazing song at all :)

The new single is complete rubbish and whatever remnants of a voice that he had left the last time we heard him, now appear to be gone too :( It will be a big hit though no doubt, purely because of who it is and the length of time since a previous release, and that will sum up the dire state of the "popular" music scene and media hype in this country :(

Love that song too.Doesnt get played anywhere near enough at Xmas compared to some of the tripe that you hear all the time!! like that damn "Fairytale of New York"!!

Wouldn't get your hopes up too much that he has finally seeen sense and is going to stop touring! Just think of how many "farewell tours" haven't been! That clown Osbourne had a farewell tour at least 10 years ago yet he is still inflicting us with his rambling and tuneless live shows!!

Oh, thats some tasty line up :) although Treat should be much higher up on the bill. Shoudl swap places with Shooting Star in my opinion. Excited to see Nation who released an absolute stormer of a CD about 10 years ago.

Oh dear! where are all the Anette lovers now then?. Some of us were criticised for being grateful that Floor had taken over from her a few weeks ago (including some people in this very thread now!) and were saying how brilliant she is, yet now all you can see or hear EVERYWHERE on the net is how wondeful Floor is and how she is the perfect match for the group. If only some people thought before t

LOL...have to agree with all your comments there :) especially the bit about "The Jokers" guitarist :) First time I'd ever seen Y&T live and was very impressed.Great vocals from Meniketti (and excellent vocal back ups from the rest of the band too). Shame they overrun though and I had to dash off and run for me train home, so I missed Forever and any other song(s)? they did afterwa

Oh YES!!..Floor Janson :) That would make them unstoppable and I reckon it could happen too.She isnt exactly doing much with her new band (after "After Forever" split) and surely Tuomos has realised that it was a huge mistake to change the style of the singer so drastically before. Floor can do everything, metal, ballads, operatic, she would be ideal.

Thank GOODNESS for that :) Seen some videos of Nightwish performing the other day with a couple of stand ins (no-one particularly well known) and they were head and shoulders above Anette. Great melodic rock voice but was NEVER right for Nightwish.Said it from day 1, also said that they would part company after the 2nd album together and got slated by all and sundry.Anyone with at least half a br

Oh, just HOW MUCH BETTER were the bills back in the early 80's than 99% of the tripe that "masquerades" as Rock at the Festival, these days.

Pleased to say that I didnt waste one second of my life on the massively overhyped closing ceremony and am damn glad the similarly overhyped games are over. The fact that there were (reportedly) people "miming" on it and are not getting slaughtered in the press and TV for doing that, just sums up the state of this country and the joke, image driven, talentless "popular" music
