I'm sure they will be as "good" as before and the "show" will be impressive too (I'm seeing them at Wembley) but, and I know that they have a new album to promote, they are playing 9 songs from that album most nights, which is too many for me as I feel the new album is not a patch on their last 2 releases. So even though it will be good, for me personally I don't expect the ov

Don't hold your breath Andrew waiting for a reply!!.... Whilst undoubtedly, a talented session player, he very often comes across as arrogant and touchy if anyone dare ever even question the quality of something he's been involved with. Won't be missed in here by me and good riddance to him if he wants to act like a spoiled child but I will still look forward to hearing some of the projects he'

Don't really like it I'm afraid, very lightweight and uninspiring to my ears, although I'm glad so many others seem to really like it.

You're right Cain, its needs 3 spins at least before it really clicks. I don't think there's any real stand out tracks on it (I think their last release had 2 or 3 really good and better songs on it) BUT there's just something "magic" there that makes all the songs fit together perfectly and combine to make a truly excellent album. I think its a case of the "whole being worth mo

You are spot on there. Simply majestic and it gets better with repeated listens too. Think its the best they've done since their first couple of releases back in the 90's. The production is MASSIVE. Its criminal that this band aren't much much bigger :(

Big fan of WT since their beginning BUT "Hydra" is nowhere near as strong as "The Unforgiving" and a bit of a disappointment to me. Having said that I really don't think they will ever top "The Unforgiving" in their career and it IS still a good album but there are 2 or 3 pretty weak songs on there and that horrendous duet with that rapper, really sounds horrid! Well, if it makes that silly cow Osbourne and her clown of a husband look small and petty, then it must be well worth a read :)

Was an essential part of my love for all things Heavy and Melodic, rock wise. Never used to miss a show and used to love the live concerts they used to broadcast sometimes too. Introduced me to my beloved Dream Theater, back in 89 and many many more. TV and Tony Wilson, thank you so much for all the memories and influences.

WOW!!....what a lot of fuss and over hype over a "pop" song. Yes, its quite "pleasant" but to think off all the big build up and self promotion over this we have had!!......what a huge let down.

The logical and sensible decision to have made and the one that they should have done 6 or 7 years ago instead of the dreadful mistake they made when replacing Tarja.Floor is THE best female singer out there, she has power, grace, a HUGE range, the perfect image, energy and a great personality. Together they will get Nightwish back on track after the mistakes of the last few years and that simply

"But yes, those who ONLY know them from The Unforgiving and have never heard material from Enter or The Dance, might be in for an ear-opening experience. :)" Never truer words spoken bud :) Full marks to the band though for not simply replicating the sounds of "The Unforgiving" (IF the ep is to be a true guide of the forthcoming album) and being prepared to mix things up

I hope that all you WT fans here are not just "new fans" from the last album!! 'Cos the other 3 songs on the ep are a BIG step away from the sounds of "The Unforgiving" and a giant leap back to the style of their first 2 or 3 CD's. There's even some growling vocals on there, which they havent had for a long time now.I like it as I have been a fan since day one and like both th

Apparantly Luca, that drum sound (and also the vocals being very low in the mix so you can barely hear them on the heavier songs) is present throughout the CD :( :( BUT, incredibly, that is supposed to have been at the bands wishes, they wanted a more processed and heavily compressed sound so its said!. Heaven knows why but all the reviews of the CD I've seen so far have said the same things abou

Think yourself lucky that you can get a DAB reception good enough to complain about the sound quality!!!....all I get is snippets of music, then some squelshing sounds and distortion, then a few seconds of music again...and thats for BOTH TeamRock and PlanetRock! The only stations I can pick up reasonably well are the BBC main ones!!

I respect your views Terry but why though are there a lot of other people also complaining/commenting about the sound mix/compression etc on the FB page where this song was first released and on the "Voices" official fan club forum? I have downloaded the official iTunes track and listened using Sennheiser earphones (so, pretty decent quality) but my views have not changed. My biggest co

I'm guessing then that you havent seen the DOZENS of comments on the FB site and also comments on the "Voices" DT fan club about the poor and over compressed mix of what we've heard so far? Perhaps you only read this forum, if so thats fair enough but then I respectivly suggest that you broaden your horizons a little before you accuse people of being the ONLY one complaining!

That sounds very encouraging Dave, thank you. One thing though, PLEASE can you confirm that the vocals, keys and bass are more upfront in the mix on the "real" CD as you can barely hear any of them on the song released this week?

Ramsey, I agree with you on that re: the keyboard sound on the solo but I also think that there are some good keyboard sounds going on in the song during the verses. Unfortunately you have to listen very VERY carefully to even hear any of them due to the horribly compressed mix on this version which has also virtually drowned out the vocals and Bass too. I really hope that this is just a limitati

The first song from the forthcoming Dream Theater CD has just been streamed online: http://smarturl.it/theenemyinside Initial thoughts are that its very DT, heavy, melodic and rocking BUT the mix is horrible!! Hopefully its just the limitations of the site its hosted on and that the sound will be much better on the official release (we don't want another QR farce!!)

Distinctly average, even more so following all the big words from the Band recently, although to be fair this is only one song, the others could be much better.
