As you can guess from my userid, I have been a lifelong fan - I am gutted and it's really sh*tty that it has all ended like this. Will have a blast of Mystery Song tonight. RIP Rick.

Will be on holiday in NYC for a few days post Christmas. I need a copy of Rush - A Farewell to Kings on 200g vinyl to complete my 200g set. These are only available in the US as far as I can see- so are there any record shops in NYC which are likely to stock one of these ? Also the download codes that come with these LPs have geographical restrictions - only open to US or Canadian folk

Will be in London in a few weeks time and was wondering does anyone have any recommendations for the above ? Indian food would be preferential but I am open to other Asian fare. Location - not fussy as long as it's reasonably central (Zone 1/2). I need this for a Friday /Sat night - just specifying that as I know that some AYCE buffets are only available at the start of the week. Tha

Re-decorating the den at the moment and have a couple of LP-sized picture frames to fill. The first one I have selected is Rush - Fly by night - always loved that cover :) Any suggestions for the other one - at the moment I am not concerned so much about the music (i.e. I don't necessarily need to be a fan of the band) - it's more the artwork.

I was lucky to catch them in Dublin last summer and to be honest I am not surprised by this news. They put on a great show as always but it was obvious to all concerned that Marie was very frail - she was seated during the entire performance and needed helped on and off stage. Very, very sad to see !

The time has come to ditch my old desktop and go for a laptop. What should I consider ? This will be used for general e/mail and surfing. I also have a fairly significant project coming up to rip 500+ CDs for I-tunes. Any recommendations - budget is £400 max.

Anyone resident in the UK ever bought an item from the US under this scheme through E-bay. I am thinking of buying an LP but they don't tell you the extra costs until after you have committed to buy which is too late for me. Any idea what these extra costs might amount to over and above the E-bay price and shipping ? I am thinking that import duty, VAT and the infamous Royal Mail 'handli

I have recently been buying some of the Rush 200g vinyl LPs - these come with high res download codes which have an expiry date of 31st Dec. 2016. However these cannot downloads have a geographical restriction in that they cannot be used outside of the US (and possibly Canada). (Note that the download codes supplied with the European 180g vinyls do not have this restriction.) Any sugges

As you can tell from my userid, I am a huge Quo fan - having seen them approx. 60 times. I will not get into the Quo debate as I am tired of hearing the usual negativity - see them live and then decide I say !! The fact that REO (one of my top 5 bands) are support for this final 'electric' tour is brilliant news for me. Alright they will play a shortened set but still worth every minute.

Recently I have been buying some of the Rush vinyl re-issues. Each of the comes with a download code (expiry date 31st Dec 2016). I have never used a code like this before and thus I have a couple of questions: 1) Is the download a 'one-time' only opportunity - i.e. it cannot be used on multiple occasions ? 2) Once downloaded to say my laptop, can I copy the download files to other devi

Great to read the news about Vardis on the front page - I have long been a fan of theirs. Hoping for some UK dates now (preferably NI - but I must not be greedy !). From my username you may deduce I am fan of any purveyors of boogie !

Anyone catch Roxette on their current tour ? I was very shocked and saddened to see the obviously frail conditon of Marie - anyone know what has happened. I know that she had a severe illness back in 2002 but was led to believe that she had recovered fom that. I have a DVD of them on their comeback tour of 2011/12 and she appeared fine in that. Something has definitely changed in the int

I bought one some years ago from these guys in the Netherlands. http://www.cd-rek.nl/uk/index.html Slightly expensive - but it is a strong & robust unit made from galvanised steel which won't warp etc. Not sure they have one which could cope with 1200CDs though. I live in N. Ireland - delivery was via UPS as far as I remember. I had to pay an extra premium for delivery - it would

I will be in London in a few weeks time. I already know about the MVE shops in Notting Hill, Berwick St and Greenwich and also Flashback in Islington. Any others - worth considering ? Now that HMV in Oxford St has shut - what are my HMV choices ? What about vinyl shops ?

Going to London in a few weeks time. Any recommendations for used CD shops:- I know already of the MVE stores in Berwick St, Notting Hill & Greenwich and also Flashback in Islington. What about shops selling new stuff - any HMV's left there ? Also is Fopp in Covent Garden worth considering ? Any others - my interests are mainly rock (wide rang) - and some pop. Thanks.
