Awesome line up. Got to go to that. Last two Shinedown albums have been two of the best rock albums in recent years.

The new AMPLIFIER album 'Echo Street' has a great atmosphereric sound. Takes a few listens but the sound builds up from mellow atmospheric to mind melting guitar breaks and back again. THE TEA PARTY'S 'Transmission'and 'Triptych' albums sound awesome too. The first KINGS X too.

My worst one was when Liverpool Academy wanted to charge me a ridiculous booking fee online, so I rang them instead. They charged me for the ticket,a booking fee and then... charged me for booking by phone! So they charged me for using my own phone, that I pay the bill for, to ring them! Outrageous!!!

So if you only 'book' tickets once, why do we pay a 'booking fee' per ticket? It's all part of the great rock n' roll swindle.

Don't like Rubin's production. Too flat and dull sounding for me. From what I'v read, sounds like he's taking the band backwards too.

Yeah, I'm just thnking about how reserved that Cheap Trick 'Live at Budokan' audience was! Maybe it's got more to do with the fact that no matter how washed up a band is, they still get an audience in Japan, unlike here in England.

I totally agree that 'average' has become the new black in this scene. Just one example would be the raving over the Total Stranger album a few years back. There are a handful of artists that can be trusted to deliver quality on each album. Rave reviews over decidedly average albums don't help the scene. They just lower the bar. Reviews out of 5 rather than 100% might help too.
